[Music] Sunday Sermons – Anne Wilson

Capitol CMG artist and songwriter Anne Wilson kicks off the new year with a brand new song, “Sunday Sermons,” available today. This is the follow-up single to her debut No. 1 breakout hit, “My Jesus,” which was the longest-running No. 1 song on the Billboard Christian Airplay Chart of 2021 for seven weeks total. Introducing “Sunday Sermons” to her fans, a lyric video has also been released – see below.

“I’m so excited to share ‘Sunday Sermons’ with the world,” shares Anne Wilson. “This is my story of growing up in the church since I was a little girl. God used every Sunday sermon to develop a firm foundation in Him. I didn’t realize just how deep my roots were in Him from all those years of showing up to church each Sunday until I encountered hardships in my life. No matter what happens in life – even losing a loved one, I can always go back to that foundation of truth that the Lord planted in me through each of those sermons. This song is to remind you to cling to the One who’s consistent and faithful. Jesus loves you more than you could ever imagine.”

Last year, Wilson impacted millions with her powerful anthem, “My Jesus,” which catapulted her to unprecedented success as a debut artist. Her soulful voice, honest lyrics, and inspiring story connected with listeners as she became the first female artist to hit the top of the Billboard Christian Airplay chart with a debut song. In October 2021, she was featured as Billboard’s October Charbreaker Artist in their 21 Under 21 issue. Continuing to be a trailblazer, Wilson also recently crossed the threshold of 100 million career streams.

The official music video for “My Jesus” currently has more than 11 million views on YouTube and 18 million views on Facebook. In addition to her single’s success, she released a Christmas EP featuring her original song, “I Still Believe in Jesus,” which became her second No. 1 on the Billboard Christian Airplay chart, with this being the largest jump into the top slot from a female artist on this chart.

Wilson will be heading out on her first headlining “My Jesus” tour later this month followed by tour dates with Matthew West on his “Brand New” Tour. In March she will be on tour with Zach Williams. Visit her website for more information and tour dates – www.annewilsonofficial.com.

[Album] Healer – Casting Crowns

GRAMMY Award-winning group Casting Crowns release their new album, Healer, today (January 14, 2022). The new album is available here. Writing songs as proclamations of faith is the cornerstone of Casting Crowns, and this new album is no different. When the world shut down for the pandemic, frontman and songwriter Mark Hall was faced with the same circumstances as the rest of the world, and he knew he needed to write for the moment. Hall stayed true to his signature straightforward words and wrote from the heart.

“I was walking through the world being shut down, just like everybody else,” shares Mark Hall. “I’ve been a youth pastor for over twenty years and here I was counseling teenagers who’d just lost their senior year, lost their friend groups, felt hopeless for the future. As I started working on this record, I realized all the songs I was writing dealt with healing in some way, something we all need. And more than that, we need a Healer. This whole album is about healing, about how God meets us where we are and what His healing looks like.”

Listening through the album, it’s clear the band’s intention is to show that healing comes in many different colors and sizes. With songs that feel both familiar and brand new, Healer is a scripture-filled push forward, challenging the listener to seek true healing from Jesus, the only Healer we need. Recently Hall spoke with American Songwriter for their November / December issue about the upcoming album, read the interview here.

Leading up to the new release, Casting Crowns has released selections from the album including the poignant song “Scars In Heaven” and the powerful anthem “The Power of the Cross.” As a group that has been known to break records, “Scars in Heaven,” broke the global first-day streaming record for a Christian song debut on Amazon Music, received top playlist positioning at all major digital service providers, and was featured on the Digital Billboard on West End Avenue in Nashville.

[Album] Dominion – Skillet

Multi-platinum rockers Skillet released their new studio album, Dominion (Atlantic). Fans can add the album here.

Their 11th studio project, it follows Skillet’s amazing track record of two RIAA certified multi-platinum albums, two Gold Albums, five RIAA certified multi-platinum singles, and four gold singles. Dominion, produced by Kevin Churko (Ozzy Osbourne, Papa Roach, Disturbed) with songs written by John Cooper, Korey Cooper, Kevin Churko and Kane Churko, was created 100% remotely between the band’s tour dates, home studio in Wisconsin, and the Churko’s studio in Las Vegas.

DOMINION is about the celebration of freedom, a liberation from fear – to be who we want to be, say what we want to say, believe what we want to believe,” Cooper says. “In some ways it’s a reminder of the God-given rights that we were born with. It’s time to regain some sort of control over our lives and not be a slave to fear. I hope this record is going to make people feel empowered, inspired, uplifted and want to rock their faces off!”

They’ll be doing just that when they headline Winter Jam 2022, which kicked off on January 7 in Charleston, WV.  For all Skillet tour info, visit Skillet.com.

Shane & Shane Bring ‘Worship In The Word’ To Families January 28

Acclaimed singer/songwriters and leading corporate worship influencers Shane & Shane are set to release Worship In The Word, an all-new recording for children and families, January 28. In addition, the project is the impetus for a 10-episode streaming series of the same name, which will be available beginning January 25 from RightNow Media.

Worship In The Word was produced by the duo’s Shane Barnard and features 10 newly-penned songs inspired by Scripture. One of the album’s first singles, “Come And See (Psalm 66)”—an engaging invitation for Christ to be exalted on the highest mountain and praised in the lowest valley—introduces a worship collection readily accessible for all ages, yet chiefly designed to help children learn about and experience God in a deeper way.

“Now more than ever, with the onslaught of information overloading us, we wanted to create authentic songs and compelling resources families can use to worship and study the Word together,” Shane Barnard shares. “Our ultimate goal is to see kids and families develop a hunger for God’s Word and a desire to worship Him, growing deeper in love with Jesus.”

Faith-based streaming platform RightNow Media will premiere a 10-episode Worship In The Word series January 25. Featuring an in-depth look at one selection from the album in each episode, viewers can watch Shane & Shane’s recording of the track while learning from unique teaching and interview segments about the song.

“The prerequisite for admittance into Christ’s Kingdom is humility, a childlike faith,” Shane Everett explains. “Our desire is to train children up in the way they should go (Proverbs 22:6), but we also want to remind adults, parents, and older siblings that Jesus references children as examples of His ideal followers.”

Expanding Shane & Shane’s mission—the Colossians 3:16 directive to “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God”—Worship In The Word marks the duo’s debut Kingdom Kids release. A compilation of resources for children and families, Kingdom Kids is part of Shane & Shane’s The Worship Initiative equipping ministry.

Worship In The Word follows last year’s Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs, Vol. 1, Shane & Shane’s first original release in more than six years. The 13-song album was named among The Gospel Coalition’s “Best Christian Music of 2021.”

Shane & Shane are founders and leaders of the Dallas-based The Worship Initiative. The equipping ministry offers a library of hundreds of popular worship songs; team training materials; instrument tutorials; and song-based devotionals, among many other offerings. The Worship Initiative has released more than 30 albums to date, and its unique community of artists, songwriters and theologians seeks to be a catalyst for musical and spiritual growth in the Church.
