[Music] For The Good (New Versions) – Riley Clemmons

Artist on the rise Riley Clemmons is kicking off the new year with two special versions of her rapidly growing single, “For the Good.” The new renditions, one acoustic and one recorded while on tour with Tauren Wells last year, showcase Riley’s ability to craft a fresh creative take on an already beloved song. Since its release in September, “For the Good” has been climbing the radio charts breaking into the top 20 at Christian radio and matching her debut, “Broken Prayers,” as her fastest growing single to date while garnering over 4 million streams. Listen to “For the Good: The Collection” HERE.

“One of my favorite parts of creating and releasing music is re-imagining a song with a variety of versions,” shares Riley. “For The Good” sonically exists in such a naturally acoustic leaning way, so I was stoked to collaborate with my producer on an acoustic version. It’s also such a special live moment, so I really wanted to release a version that brought that energy into people’s homes and cars.”

In addition to the collection, Riley has released a live performance video of “For the Good.” It was filmed in San Diego while on the road with Tauren Wells this past fall and marks the first tour she performed the song live. The video encapsulates Riley’s ability to own the stage and is a taste of what’s to come when she joins Jeremy Camp on tour this spring. Her 2018 self-titled album debut quickly entered the Billboard Heatseekers chart, entering at No. 13. Her latest album, Godsend, has received critical acclaim and has quickly established Riley as an artist to watch. [Album] Our God Is Over All – New Life Worship

New Life Worship announces their new song, “Our God Is Over All,” is out today accompanied by a live video. As the first single from their upcoming album, Over It All, two additional songs will become available prior to the album’s April release.

“Our God Is Over All” was written and led by Jon Egan. Solely writing the song in a mere 45 minutes, he shares, “I was feeling the itch to write something that I simply wanted to say to God. Though we have so much to rejoice about there is also much to grieve in the world. I wasn’t overly concerned with writing a great song. My hope was to write something real and raw, something that said what I felt needed to be spoken.”

“I’m not sure I had anyone else in mind other than my own need to sing,” Egan continues. “I thought about how worship is this extraordinary gift, especially in such times. Though I will always love worship first because it glorifies Jesus, I also love the way worship brings us through, how it stands in the face of complete darkness and sings a reality that outshines it, how it lifts our souls to remember what is real.”

New Life Worship is a collective of worship leaders and musicians that serve at New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado. With a rich history of serving the church with songs like “Strong God,” “Great I Am,” “I Am Free,” and “Here In Your Presence,” New Life Worship is stepping into a fresh season of new songs being birthed in the church.

The group exists to nourish a biblically- faithful, historically-rooted, musically-skilled, and vibrantly prophetic multi-generational worship culture. They focus on encountering the living God – both in the “here and now” and in the confidence of what is to come. Their voice is communal, formed with the belief that their collective efforts yield more than just the sum of their individual contributions, working at shaping their songs to bring formation to the soul with a message that is packaged in beauty and creativity. They seek to make their voice ancient and new – ancient by honoring and referencing rich church history and those who have gone before us, and new by knowing that in the Hebrew texts of the Psalms, God desires new songs to be emanating from his people. To stay up to date, follow New Life Church here.

Planetshakers’ Youth Band Planetboom Releases ‘You, Me, The Church, That’s Us – Side A’

The dynamic, multicultural youth ministry of Planetshakers Churchplanetboom, releases its third album, You, Me, The Church, That’s Us – Side A, today (Jan. 14) to digital and streaming outlets globally from Venture3Media (V3M) via https://planetboom.streamlink.to/youmethechurchthatsus_sidea.

The diverse youth culture at planetboom that represents at least 60 nationalities translates the mission of Planetshakers Church into eclectic music that creates a unique space for an international audience to find an intimate sense of belonging as part of the church family. Still just scratching the surface of their sonic identity, You, Me, The Church, That’s Us – Side A was produced by creative director Josh Ham, mixed by worship leader Joth Hunt and written or co-written by Ham, worship leader, vocalist / rapper Noah Walker and planetboom youth pastor, songwriter, author and drummer Andy Harrison.

“With the new album, we would love for people to walk away with their minds opened a little bit to what a praise and worship expression can sound like,” says Harrison. “It is unique from almost anything else in the praise and worship genre. It might surprise people, and they might say, ‘Wow! OK, we can worship God like that, we can praise God like that.’ Everything we are doing is to lead young people to an encounter with God.”

Recorded at the planetboom conference held April 2021 and in Planetshakers’ Melbourne studio, the combination of tightly crafted studio arrangements and live worship creates a dynamic record that ranges from big, broad statements about the church family, to intimate, personal moments between individuals and God.

Intended to be listened top to bottom, with each song leading purposefully into the next, the album opens with the raucous, rhythmic rapper “The Core” and moves through a varied, yet cohesive set consisting of tracks like the plaintive, worshipful “Back To Life” led by Aimee Walker, the Noah Walker-led upbeat studio pop song “I Believe” and the proclamatory “That’s Us.” The latter song inspired the album title and is a catchphrase that, according to Harrison, allows students and leaders to find identity within the ministry.

“What we’re getting at is that what God has done in each of us individually has joined us to be part of this broader family,” Harrison says. “We have people from every different nationality…standing together, arms around each other.”

I’m adopted by the Father
And what You join together
None can separate
You, me
The church, that’s us
(From the “That’s Us” chorus)

“We have noticed that young people are listening to whole albums and experiencing music again, which is exciting for me as a musician. I love that, and it is a bit nostalgic,” adds Harrison. “We have a lot of songs, a lot of creativity, and we wanted to be able to express all of this. When we were recording, we thought, ‘why stop? Let’s record these songs together,’ and that’s going to flow into the next side, side B, as well.”

Side B of the album was recorded at the latest planetboom conference held this week (Jan. 10) in Melbourne and is scheduled to release April, 2022. The new music adds to the linear fashion of the tracklist, and is meant to move listeners directly from the Side A, soul soaking last track, “Selah Moment,” into the next phase of worship.

[EP] It’s About Time – Kevin Quinn

Capitol CMG’s breakout pop artist, Kevin Quinn, released his anticipated debut EP and single, “It’s About Time.” The five-track studio record features Quinn’s 2021 hits “Wildfire,” “I’m Still Breathing,” “Over and Over Again” and “Fuego En Mi Interior,” plus his standout new single, “It’s About Time.” In addition to releasing his first solo music project, Quinn is currently touring as a special guest on the 41-date Winter Jam 2022 tour, bringing his “pure pop sound that swirls with irresistible melodies” (American Songwriter) to arenas all across the U.S.

On “It’s About Time,” the EP, the promising musician offers a holistic introduction to his style and perspective, highlighting his knack for intimate storytelling. Through rich vocals and deeply personal songwriting, Quinn’s lyrics strike a unique balance between growth and vulnerability, as he carries listeners along his journey as a young adult, while giving hope for the future.

The EP’s title track “It’s About Time” thematically connects the project, affirming his “make the most of every moment” mantra. The coming-of-age song juxtaposes vocally-intimate verses with a powerfull and resounding chorus. “It’s about time and how we spend it, every moment, every minute. It’s about knowing that we’re chasing all the beautiful things that make it worth the ride,” Quinn sings.

“This is the best work I’ve done so far, and I’m proud of the journey that has led me here,” said Quinn about the EP. “A lot of talented people came together to contribute to it, both in the studio and out. I hope that the fans love it as much as I do.”

Upon Quinn’s debut in 2021, American Songwriter predicted he was “just scratching the surface of this singer/songwriter’s capabilities” with launch single “Wildfire,” calling the debut “a powerful beginning.” The track has garnered over 3 million global streams and generated forceful momentum for Quinn as a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. His singles “Over and Over Again” and “I’m Still Breathing” continued to blaze a trail for the rising star.

[Music] A Thousand Hallelujahs (Live) – Brooke Ligertwood

GRAMMY® Award-winning songwriter, producer and critically-acclaimed artist Brooke Ligertwood releases her first single, “A Thousand Hallelujahs” through a new partnership with Capitol CMG.  Available today along with an accompanying live performance video, which can be viewed below, the premiere track gives fans a glimpse of what’s to come from Ligertwood’s forthcoming solo album, “SEVEN”.

After six mainstream albums with Sony Music under maiden name “Brooke Fraser” and in parallel, 17 years with Hillsong Worship, which she still currently leads globally, Ligertwood is combining her two decades of experience as an artist/producer and her passion for serving the church with her new solo offering under Capitol CMG (yes, in a happy twist this means her seventh solo album is indeed called SEVEN).

A Thousand Hallelujahs is simply and unashamedly a song of worship for the Church,” said Ligertwood. “With lyrics that celebrate the origin and direction of glory, the song itself also becomes the vehicle for how to return that glory where it belongs – to Christ.  It is intrinsically, deliberately, and singularly vertical, and tantalizingly joyful. I pray it becomes of use and timely help to believers and congregations everywhere.”

About the new partnership, Hudson Plachy (CCMG, Co-President) said, “Brooke is one of the most prolific artists and songwriters in the genre and her already storied career has received the industry’s highest accolades. We are honored to partner with her in this next season on this incredible album, SEVEN, and could not be more excited to see this music impact the world.” Brad O’Donnell (CCMG, Co-President) added, “Brooke is a one-of-a-kind songwriter and artist who we admire deeply and have been fortunate to work with for years now. We are thrilled to be partnering with her on SEVEN which we believe is a very special project and a gift to the global church.”

Recorded live in Nashville, TN, “SEVEN” consists of entirely brand new worship songs written by Ligertwood and husband/longtime collaborator Scott, Jason Ingram (who co-produced the album with her), Pastor Steven Furtick, Brandon Lake, Phil Wickham and friends. It features a band composed of gifted musicians from the breadth of the modern worship movement (Hillsong, Bethel, Vineyard), a 30-piece choir, and a collection of stunning new prayer-soaked songs written and arranged in line with Ligertwood’s singular vision with Jesus at the center. SEVEN is set for release on February 25th.

“A Thousand Hallelujahs” was written by Brooke Ligertwood, Scott Ligertwood and Phil Wickham.

[Music] Letting Go – Switch

Switch dropped their newest single, “Letting Go,” ahead of the release of their upcoming album, Better View, Part II, out March 11th. The second part of their Better View project follows the fall 2021 EP release of Better View, Part I (Sony Music/Provident’s Essential Worship).

“Letting Go” guides the listener through a raw conversation with God, starting with hard questions and leading to the realization that God is loving and trustworthy. As one of the more worshipful songs on the upcoming album, its chorus sings: “Even with these questions I open up my hands / Come and wreck my plans / While I’m waiting I will worship I trust You’re in control / Come and make me whole, I’m letting go.”

The songs found on the upcoming release of Better View, Part II bring a Top 40 sound with a 90’s influence, bridging the gap between pop music and Christian lyrics. As with Better View, Part I, the release and theme of Part II come from the group’s hope that as people listen to the songs, they will gain a better view of God and how much He loves them.

“We wrote this album for anyone who is struggling with questions, but especially for the students and young adults who are part of our church,” the members of Switch share. “They’re the first generation that’s growing up with exposure to unfiltered hardships across the world and social media comparison as a part of everyday life. We wrote these songs to help them navigate these difficulties with a faith perspective.”
