Francesca Battistelli Wins Inspirational Recorded Song Of The Year For “God Is Good” At 53rd Annual GMA Dove Awards

Curb | Word Entertainment’s Francesca Battistelli earned the GMA Dove Award for Inspirational Recorded Song of the Year for “God Is Good” at the 53rd Annual GMA Dove Awards, which aired exclusively on TBN and the TBN app on October 21. The win marks Battistelli’s 7th career GMA Dove Award win. Listen to the winning track HERE.

“It’s always an honor to win a Dove, but it’s extra special when it’s for a song that means so much to me,” shares Battistelli. “I’m thankful to see that ‘God Is Good’ has impacted others in a meaningful way and excited to see how the Lord continues to use it!”

GodIsGood

“God Is Good,” which was Battistelli’s first new music offering since her second full length Christmas album, This Christmas, can also be found in God’s Not Dead; We the People, a film released in 2021 in which Battistelli has a starring role.

Battistelli also shares of the song, “The last few years have shown me that no one is immune to difficult times. They are actually promised for the believer. Having a song to point to as a reminder of God’s faithfulness is helpful, and this song in particular has been a huge comfort when ‘tears fall.’ I hope you are encouraged that no matter what you’re facing today, if you’re in Christ, it’s all for His glory and your ultimate good. What a promise! God is always good.”

This Christmas season, fans can catch Battistelli on NewSong’s “The Very Merry Christmas & More Tour” – find more information HERE. Fans can also hear her alongside Sanctus Real on current radio single, “Won’t Let Me Go” – listen to the single HERE.

Ernie Haase & Signature Sound’s “Keeping On” Wins GMA Dove Award For ‘Southern Gospel Album Of The Year’

Reigning Southern Gospel Artist of the Year Ernie Haase & Signature Sound’s Keeping On won the 2022 GMA Dove Award for Southern Gospel Album of the Year. Produced by Wayne Haun, Kris Crunk and Brian Eads, Keeping On was released in July 2021 from StowTown Records. The album of mostly original songs offers listeners a source of encouragement during trying times.

“I’m thrilled that Keeping On won the Dove Award for Southern Gospel Album of the Year! I’m delighted for my teammates, for our amazing production team and, most of all, that this recording has impacted so many people,” exclaimed Haase. “It’s not our job to remind people how bad the culture is today. It’s our job to remind them that ‘God can be trusted, and there is nothing that takes Him by surprise. You aren’t forsaken, so don’t be shaken. Just lift up your eyes… and Keep On Keeping On!’”

JubileeCast lauded, “Ernie Haase and Signature Sound’s Keeping On returns to the Big Band days where saloon crooners such as Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra reigned the airwaves. A time when the lush orchestration of strings and the brassy blast of horns and trumpets were the accompanying sound. Keeping On is a time capsule back in time.”

American Songwriter praised the title track’s “glistening production and pounding percussion,” noting that Ernie Haase & Signature Sound “seem to reach into a deeper creative well than ever before” with Keeping On. Parade described “Good to Be Home,” the album’s second release, as a “head-bobbing, smile-inducing trip through nostalgia.”

Keeping On’s track listing also includes “Overcome,” which received a 2022 GMA Dove nomination for Southern Gospel Recorded Song of the Year. The radio single was written by Sunset Gallery Music songwriters Aaron Stewart, Jason Davidson and Jeff Bumgardner.

Ernie Haase & Signature Sound followed Keeping On with Decades of Love. From the Beatles to the Bee Gees to Bublé, the group serenades listeners on the 29-song, two-CD recording. In support of the new release, they recently embarked on the Decades of Love Tour, featuring a two-hour, two-act musical revue. For tickets and more information, visit ErnieHaase.com.

Keeping On also received a GRAMMY nomination for Best Roots Gospel album. This marked Haase’s ninth GRAMMY nomination individually and the group’s fourth collective nomination. Ernie Haase & Signature Sound remains a radio favorite in the United States and internationally as well as a leader in CD sales and long-form music video sales with several RIAA-certified Gold and Platinum DVDs.

Cece Winans Wins Artist of the Year at Dove Awards

Nashville, TN – The 53rd Annual GMA Dove Awards were handed out Tuesday night, October 18th, 2022, at the Allen Arena in Nashville, Tennessee to a sold-out audience. The show aired Friday, October 21st, exclusively on TBN and was simulcast on SiriusXM The Message. Co-hosts Erica Campbell and Chris Tomlin led the all-star night of music with performances from across the music community including Gospel, Latin, Hip Hop, and Southern Gospel.

Iconic artist CeCe Winans made Dove Awards history this year as the first Black female solo artist to win Artist of the Year. When accepting her award, instead of an acceptance speech, she sang a few lines from the Andrae Crouch classic, “To God Be the Glory,” moving many in the audience to tears. She and co-writers for “Believe for It” were also awarded Song of the Year. Throughout her incredible career, CeCe has won a staggering 25 Dove Awards including the very first New Artist of the Year award in 1988 with her brother BeBe Winans.

“It’s amazing when we come together and we love each other and we stand for righteousness, it’s amazing what God will do,” Winans said after accepting the award for Song of the Year. “It’s amazing what He’s already done. But He wants to do so much more. I’m believing for God to move in this industry greater than He ever has before. The God we serve responds to faithfulness and the testimonies I’ve heard through this song have blessed my life.”

Choirmaster Ricky Dillard won his first-ever Dove award in the category of Traditional Gospel Album of the Year for his twelfth album,  Breakthrough: The Exodus (Live).  Young gospel queen Jekalyn Carr picked up the third Dove award of her career. This time, she won Traditional Gospel Recorded Song of the Year for her No. 1 hit, “My Portion.”

For KING + COUNTRY, writer/producer Jeff Pardo, and Phil Wickham led the night with three awards each with Wickham winning Songwriter of the Year – Artist and Worship Album of the Year, Pardo winning Producer of the Year and For KING + COUNTRY winning Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year. Twenty-year old newcomer Anne Wilson took home two awards including New Artist of the Year and Pop/Contemporary Song of the Year for “My Jesus.” The latter was recently certified gold by the R.I.A.A.

The night was packed with one-of-a-kind performances such as Steven Curtis Chapman’s career-spanning mash-up of his hits such as “The Great Adventure” and “Dive.” Phil Wickham and his electrifying band performed his current Top Ten single, “Hymn of Heaven.”

TobyMac thanked followers for their prayers and support following his son Truett’s unexpected death in 2020 before launching into a spirited  performance of “The Goodness” with Nigerian-born singer Blessing Offor. “Thank you for the kindness you showed me and my family as we walked through the deepest valley in losing my firstborn son,” he said. “…There were times I never thought I would ever write another song, much less an up-tempo song or a song that felt like joy. But God is good. He might not always give us what we want, or take away the pain, but He is right here with us. He doesn’t leave. He remains.”

Marvin Sapp Lands Seventh Soul Train Music Award Nomination

It’s beginning to look a lot like award show season, and Marvin Sapp has landed his 7th Soul Train Music Award nomination just weeks after celebrating his single “All In Your Hands” reaching the #1 position on Billboard’s Gospel Airplay Chart. He is nominated in the Best Gospel/Inspirational category.

6Marvin Sapp is a two-time Soul Train Music Award winner, and remains excited anytime his name is announced as a nominee. “I love that the Soul Train Music Awards continue the great tradition of celebrating Black joy through song,” says Sapp. “It is an honor and a privilege to be among those considered to have released music this year that made people smile and gave people a sense of hope.”

2022 has marked numerous firsts for Sapp, including the first album released on his own record label, the TVONE premiere of the biopic Never Would Have Made It: The Marvin Sapp Story, and being officially crowned a “Billion Spinner” on Pandora. Still, the “preacher who happens to sing” has remained a consistent, in-person presence at The Chosen Vessel Cathedral where he is Senior Pastor. Currently celebrating three years at the Fort Worth, Texas based church, Sapp and his pastoral team recently oversaw a mass baptism of more than 100 people.

“I began pastoring at a new church in a new city just months before the height of the COVID19 pandemic. We had virtual services for almost two years, so this year has been one of renewed focus and revitalization at the Chosen Vessel Cathedral. The mass baptism was a time of refreshing for all of us.”

Sapp is nominated for his 15th album, Substance. The album debuted #1 when it was released, making it the singer’s seventh consecutive number one Gospel album debut. It also debuted #3 on the Top Christian/Gospel Albums sales chart.

Substance is available now everywhere digital music is sold.

winter jam 2023 artists

“I feel the way a rookie wide receiver would feel catching a touchdown pass from Tom Brady,” shares Sean BE. “This is a tour I’ve known all my life with artists I’ve listened to and looked up to for a long time, and now God is allowing me to be part of something that has had such a positive influence on me. Getting to meet audiences and hear their stories each night will be a highlight, and I can’t fully express how thankful I am to experience every aspect of what Winter Jam is all about.”

In addition to his Winter Jam feature, Sean BE’s newly penned song “More Than A Conqueror” will be showcased in the 2023 box office film “The Good Fight.” Starring actor and recording artist John Schneider with an appearance by hip-hop hitmaker Steven Malcolm, Sean BE will also make a cameo in the Holleyland Productions movie. Co-produced by WieRok Entertainment and directed by James Holley, “The Good Fight” is slated to hit theaters next Spring.

“‘More Than A Conqueror’ was inspired by Romans 8 and serves as a reminder that when we are fighting ‘the good fight’ with God surrounding us, there is no battle too great to overcome,” Sean BE explains. “I played the track for James, the director, and about one verse into the song he said, ‘You’re not going to believe this, but the tagline for the movie is: To be more than a conqueror, battles must be fought.’ My hope is that when people hear this song and watch the movie, they can be encouraged by the reality that our battles are ultimately conquered by God.”
