Today (August 11), singer, songwriter, and worship leader Patrick Mayberry releases a new version of “Lean on Good Shepherd” featuring Zahriya Zachary. Mayberry is set to release his highly anticipated, first full-length Centricity Music album, Wild Faith, on Sept. 1.

REVERE introduces their last single, “The Name of the Lord,” before the awaited release of their new live album.

Lucy Grimble unveils her second single, “Shedding Skin,” an honest song prompted by the common human experience of self-reflection and the need to change.

Inspired by a personal situation demanding forgiveness, this song doesn’t shy away from the torment of bitterness and points to the beauty of choosing to bear God’s image in the face of pain. Finding a space between the hauntingly honest lyricism of Fiona Apple and an ethereal sonic backdrop echoing Radiohead, “Shedding Skin” is a moody, spiritual walk towards the Light.

Lucy crafted her own sounds (vocal FX) and used a lot of synths to create a sense of discordance and texture. The song reflects on scriptural passages about pouring new wine into new wineskins (Mark 2:22, Matthew 9:17, Luke 5:36), as well as John 12’s story of the seed needing to die to multiply.

“Shedding Skin” hones in on discipleship by asking the hard questions that lead towards growth, encouraging listeners that the wrestle to let go and surrender is always more than rewarded by the new life that God will bring.

Today, Futures releases “Holy Spirit”, the 5th track from their upcoming album Together, With Heaven, set to release on August 25th.  “Holy Spirit” is a powerful and hopeful track sung by singer Chloe Evans.  The track was produced by Andrew Barlow and co-written by Danae Leslie, Mark Evans, and Ryan Rolls.

World-renowned Music director Awipi has teamed up with dynamic vocalist King David JPLC and record label Boss Mama Tee for the remake of “ELONGA”.

Elonga means “Jesus, You’re the winner man.” It is a song that was first performed by the Benson Idahosa University Choir in 2009. The song talks about Christ’s victory and how Jesus is the winning man in every situation. When Jesus shows up for us, He always causes us to triumph, to win every battle and situation in our lives. So, He fights for us and empowers us to win.

According to Awipi, “Elonga was a song I heard while I was preparing for a ‘Take the Lead’ concert with the Benson Idahosa University. It was done by Benedicte Muad Kashama, from Congo. I heard her singing the song and loved it. We talked about the song and I asked if she would be okay with us using it for the upcoming recording. I also asked her what it would cost to use her song, and we negotiated and came to an agreement. We revamped the solo and the style of the song to the Elonga version we now know, recorded it, and released it”.

It is a very inspiring song that shows the power of believing and the power of knowing that we can live a victorious life as long as we have Jesus. Whatever way we experience life situations, we always come out on top because we, through Jesus, continue to be victorious.
