“I wrote the song right when we moved after living somewhere for 15 years,” says Kristene DiMarco. “People have a tendency to pour everything they have into a place, into community, into people when they believe nothing’s going to change and they’ll be there forever.
When we settled into our new house, I sat down at the piano and thought: What would I want to tell my kids about the transitions that life often brings? I’d want to tell them: Plant your trees anyway.
