[Album] Hymn of Heaven (Acoustic Sessions) – Phil Wickham

Celebrated worship artist Phil Wickham shares new music with his latest project Hymn of Heaven (Acoustic Sessions). The 12 track collection re-imagines songs Wickham shared in 2021 in a new, intimate, stripped-down setting. Hymn of Heaven (Acoustic Sessions) is available now to download/stream. Wickham’s Hymn of Heaven tour runs through June with an updated tour schedule here.

“There’s a cliff near our home that overlooks the ocean. It’s become my families ‘sunset spot’. We’ll pile into the van and head there to watch the sun come down over the Pacific, usually with some In-N-Out or ice cream in hand. It’s always a beautiful time together,” Wickham posts on social media when speaking about the inspiration behind the new collection. “I recorded ‘Hymn Of Heaven – Acoustic Sessions’ with that exact scene in mind. I actually have a photo of my kids at our ‘sunset spot’, and throughout the project I kept coming back to that photo. I wanted to make a version of ‘Hymn Of Heaven’ that would be a soundtrack to those kinds of moments…I hope and pray this album is a blessing. That it brings peace and focuses your heart on Jesus.”

Throughout the process of crafting new music during a global pandemic that created unprecedented obstacles for the local church, Wickham saw an opportunity – the church wasn’t relegated to a building. It was happening in our homes and in our hearts. “Hymn of Heaven is full of praise and thankfulness, just lifting up the name of Jesus and speaking what we really know the reality is even though we don’t see it,” he says. “All I want to do is facilitate moments where people can encounter the presence of God.”

Psalmist Raine Returns With ‘ReFresh Worship Live 3: Fellowship Of Sons & Brethren’

Psalmist Raine has become one of today’s most influential worship leaders. Known for her live recordings of spontaneous worship, she’s gained a following of fellow worshippers around the globe during her 25 years in music ministry. The award-winning recording artist and founder of the ReFresh Institute was thrust on the national scene with her Refresh Worship Live recording in 2016. After several notable releases, including ReFresh Worship Live 2 – For The Nations and To Abba, which peaked at #14 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums Chart, this popular minstrel is back with an unforgettable collection of worship tunes. Known for her prophetic voice and riveting psalms, Psalmist Raine presents another dynamic musical exultation to the Lord with ReFresh Worship Live 3: Fellowship of Sons & Brethren, a three-part project. Consisting of soul-shaking and God-directed tracks, ReFresh Worship Live 3 gives the lover of God much to feast on. Now available at digital outlets everywhere, ReFresh Worship Live 3: Fellowship of Sons & Brethren – including ReFresh Worship Live 3.1, ReFresh Worship Live 3.2 and ReFresh Worship Live 3.3, showcase this gifted woman in her element.

Flanked by a dynamic collection of singers and musicians, ReFresh Worship Live 3: Fellowship of Sons & Brethren is filled with over 3½ hours of unadulterated praise and worship. Presenting a project that is a rarity in the Gospel music industry, Psalmist Raine has once again broken new ground when it comes to worship recordings. As with previous releases, each of the ReFresh Worship Live 3: Fellowship of Sons & Brethren CDs opens with a few tracks that were rehearsed by Psalmist Raine, the ReFresh Team and the musicians, but all other songs were created during the live recording – on the spot. In addition to the songs ministered in the presence of the Lord, the recordings also include voices of intercessions and voices of prophetic words. It’s this unique kind of Levitical call that sets Psalmist Raine apart from other worship leaders.

Not only is Psalmist Raine a worship leader herself, but she has a mandate to train up and teach other worship leaders coming behind her. She feels a burden to build those who are called as worship leaders. That unction has compelled her to expand The ReFresh Team to include members all across the United States and in the United Kingdom – with a goal of merging corporate and prophetic worship together. Part of that training takes place in the ReFresh Institute (TRI). TRI, launched by Psalmist Raine, is a creative and worship arts vocational institute for worshippers and creatives. To assist in empowering believers designated for those specific roles, she has penned two books: Release The Manna, which was released in 2018, and 21-Day Honor Code Challenge, which dropped in 2019.

In addition to training, teaching and writing, Psalmist Raine has also launched two podcasts. In February 2021, she began hosting her own podcast, “The Creatives Culture Podcast,” with the Charisma Podcast Network. Targeted to Millennials and Gen Z, the Creatives Culture Podcast inspires inventors, creatives and emerging pioneers – from a godly perspective. She also launched another new podcast called “Morning Meets with God”. A podcast and weekday morning live broadcast, the program streams live on Facebook and YouTube and features Psalmist Raine & The ReFresh Team.

For over two decades, Psalmist Raine has been encouraging believers and setting an atmosphere conducive for God’s presence. The native Chicagoan has been ministering in song since she was 4 years old. Her illustrious, musical career has blossomed tremendously since that time and includes the following recordings: Believe Again (2013), ReFresh Worship Live (2016), To Abba (2017), ReFresh Worship Live 2 – For The Nations (2018), Here I Am – The Stanza (2019), Release: The Seeker’s Edition (2020), Heart Songs (2020), Believe Again: Remastered (2021) and ReFresh Worship Live 3: Fellowship of Sons & Brethren (2021–2022). Psalmist Raine has been a Chicago Gospel Music Award Nominee for Praise & Worship Artist of the Year and is the Winner of the Peculiar Artist Award from Kierra Sheard’s BRL (Bold Right Life) Chicago Chapter.

[EP] The Original – Michael Dixon || @mikewritez

Houston, TX native and Grammy nominated songwriter, singer, vocal arranger, background vocalist and producer Michael Dixon introduces his latest effort, an EP entitled, THE ORIGINAL, which is out now! Released on July 23, 2021 (VGNBae Music Group). Distributed by IndieBlu/MNRK Music Group, the 3-track EP is the follow-up to Billboard Top 10 Gospel album debut 2019’s THE WALK ON WATER PROJECT.

THE ORIGINAL offers the listener the good news in an unconventional musical way. The title track “The Original” is an upbeat vibrant track that mixes musical imagination with potent lyrical presentation. The beautiful chaos on “Make A Way” featuring Nakitta Foxx (member of the acclaimed Kurt Carr & The Kurt Carr Singers) and emerging vocalist Tatiana Barnett will transport you back to the 60s when music had a little get up and dance about it. “Keeper” is a rousing ballad that has become a Michael Dixon signature. The song is a reflecting of what the world has experienced since 2020.

An overcomer who’s experienced losing his hearing in both ears due to an ear infection in 2012, which left him deaf for two years – Michael is grateful. As seen on Jamie Fox’s hosted Beat Shazam, Michael Dixon got his start in the music industry professionally by doing studio background vocals, which developed into live background singing, working with an array of artist spanning across genres including Yolanda Adams, Chris Tomlin, Lady Gaga, Reba McIntyre and Lyle Lovett to name a few and has written for Grammy-nominated artist Gene Moore. Healso serves as one of the Worship Leaders at The Luke Church in Humble, TX.
