3x GRAMMY-nominated, genre-defying artist Crowder releases ‘Milk & Cookies: A Merry Crowder Christmas’ (via sixstepsrecords/Capitol CMG). Featuring a mix ranging from a hilarious tribute to the North Pole’s working class titled ‘The Elf Song’ to a collaboration with Country Music Hall of Fame member Ricky Skaggs on a bluegrass-driven version of “Go Tell It on the Mountain,” the 14-track project is chock-full of festive originals, re-imagined classics and creative collaborations.

Crowder’s one-of-a-kind style is put on full display throughout the entire project with standout tracks, including “I’ve Heard About You,” a tender tribute to the reason for the season, the bluesy original “Christmastime Is Here” and “December 26th (Auld Lang Syne),” which finds the Texarkana native putting his own clever spin on the lyrics to the New Year’s Eve standard, adding a modern take to the centuries-old song.

The project is made complete through Crowder’s signature charm, which is spotlighted on multiple interludes scattered throughout. Playing the role of an objective narrator that has become a staple of classic holiday films, Crowder closes the record with a laugh-out-loud twist on the classic children’s book “Goodnight Moon,” wishing “goodnight” to everything that fills the holidays with joy and cheer – including the “elves with their 401ks” and his “leftovers” in the fridge.

Iconic multi-platinum, singer and songwriter Michael W. Smith releases his new Christmas EP today. Christmas at Home features Smith’s entire family participating in the recording, arranging, writing and includes 6 brand new Christmas standards that will awaken the listener’s holiday memories. 

Among the tracks, there are two instrumental pieces, “The Star” (featuring a haunting vocal line from daughter Whitney Mooring and lush orchestration) and “Christmas at Wildwood” which features Smith’s signature gift and sound for writing melodies on the piano.  

Throughout the entire EP, the music and orchestration play like an epic movie soundtrack.

The EP was inspired by the song “ Freeze The Frame” written by Smith and Tony Wood, painting pictures of family moments around the holidays. Lyrics from the Mark Campbell produced song that spoke to Smith include: “Time around the table/And time around the tree/These moments in these rooms tonight/Are everything I dream.”

They reminded him so much of his own family life that it quickly led him to the idea of making the EP a family affair, having his daughter Anna Bovi sing on the track and motivated him to bring in his other children and, at the time, 16 grandchildren (recently grown to 17) for the rest of the project.

Other highlights from the EP include the radio single ‘Christmas Is Here’ written by Smith and Bovi, which has memory-inducing lyrics and a chorus of all of his grandchildren, with the orchestral arrangement done by Smith’s son, Tyler.  Another majestic moment was bringing in the 200+ member Brentwood Baptist Choir for “God with God.” The song is a choral and orchestra masterpiece that invokes memories of Smith’s past Christmas anthems, produced, orchestrated, and arranged by David Hamilton.  Listeners will know they’re in for a special experience by the opening instrumental “The Night Before…” which sets the stage perfectly for the Christmas season.

Bethel Music artist and gold selling singer-songwriter Josh Baldwin has released his much anticipated fifth studio album, Where the Glory Is.

Nigerian Christian contemporary and gospel singer, songwriter, and music minister, Omolola Owoeye, better known as “Loolla”, releases a brand new EP titled “I Am Yahweh”. She has previously released few singles such as “My Year”, Messiah, Majere, and “E Seun Funmi”.

“I Am Yahweh” is a 4-track, 30 minutes deep worship session recorded live in a spirit-filled atmosphere. These songs bring down God’s presence and are particularly useful in personal devotions and prayers. The EP is available on all digital streaming platforms on the 14th of October 2022.

Loolla – I Am Yahweh

Internationally renowned singer/songwriter and worship music icon Don Moen has released a new project, The Upper Room Sessions, available today on all digital streaming platforms.

The project includes new recordings of some of Don’s most-loved songs through the years, including, “Like Eagles,” “Dwelling Places,” “All We Like Sheep,” and more.

“I always enjoy leading worship for a large gathering with great musicians and singers backing me up, but there is also something beautiful about singing these songs in an unplugged, intimate setting,” says Don. “The Upper Room Sessions gave me an opportunity to worship with these classic songs again in a simple, vulnerable setting…the way they were originally written.”

Augusta-based Christian singer-songwriter and worship leader Daniel Mulkey is releasing his first-ever full album entitled, “Real” on October 21st.

Inspired by Psalm 107:2, Mark 5:19 and 1 Chronicles 16:8, “Real” encapsulates the importance of a Christian believer’s testimony, combatting the shame traditional churches struggled with when it came to the topic of sin.

“God has freed us to speak up and share about the love and forgiveness we have experienced only through a relationship with Jesus,” Mulkey said. “When artists, or any believer, says that they too have struggles – that’s when God can break down the wall and truly begin to change lives.”

Mulkey had the idea for the new album when he and his wife noticed a well-known Christian artist having a hard time at a concert they were attending. Mulkey could tell that the artist was trying to keep up appearances rather than publicly expressing the emotion they were feeling.

“When we walked back to the car that evening, I hummed ‘I want to be real,’” Mulkey said. “Thankfully, that artist has since spoken about that night and they were able to get the help they needed.”

Because of the message to open up about struggles so that all can see God, audiences who experienced the album pre-release emphasized how relatable each song was.

Not only is the artist urging readers to listen to his new album, Real,but he is also sharing a widespread call to action for listeners to resist fear and share their testimonies with others.

“The story of redemption is the most powerful message you can share,” Mulkey said. “Only YOU can testify of what God has done in your life. Let Him shine. BE REAL.”
