Sidewalk Prophets Co-Founders Pen Children’s Book ‘The Luckiest Star’ Alongside Elizabeth Cardella Hayes

Curb | Word Entertainment’s Sidewalk Prophets co-founders Dave Frey and Ben McDonald are proud to announce their new children’s book, The Luckiest Star, penned alongside Elizabeth Cardella Hayes. Illustrated by David Leonard, who illustrated the band’s album cover for Merry Christmas To You (Great Big Family Edition), with a forward by Paul William Young, New York Times bestselling author of The Shack, the book tells a new Christmas story families will be excited to hear for years to come. Pre-order The Luckiest Star HERE.

The Luckiest Star was such a dream to create,” shares Frey. “Since we wrote our song ‘Hey Moon,’ I had always hoped to write an accompanying book that I could someday read to my child. Since I became a dad a couple years ago, it was finally time. I hope that it will bless your family this Christmas and all year long, as we all discover what it means to be known, loved, and made for an important purpose.”

The Luckiest Star, a true labor of love which took four years to create, edit, and execute, tells the story of Hemmy, the smallest, silliest little star in the galaxy. With his best friend, the moon, lighting his path, Hemmy sets out on a quest to find the place in the galaxy he truly belongs. A sudden encounter with the Maker at Christmastime helps Hemmy realize he was made to shine, and he soon learns his light was destined to illuminate the greatest gift the world has ever known.

McDonald adds, “This has been such a special project to collaborate on. Dave and I have been writing songs together for years, but it was really special to work creatively together in a different format. We’re so blessed to work with talented creatives like our co-author Elizabeth Cardella Hayes and our illustrator David Leonard. Every single person on the team pushed this story to new heights, and we can’t wait to share this special labor of love with the world.”

[Music Video] I Believe It Now – Sidewalk Prophets Feat Olivia Lane

Curb | Word Entertainment’s Sidewalk Prophets unveils a brand new version of “I Believe It Now” today (2/18) featuring TikTok sensation Olivia Lane. Listen to the poignant pairing HERE, and watch the emotional music video for the powerful track below.

The album rendition of “I Believe It Now” resonated so deeply with Lane’s own journey of finding Christ, she began sharing the song with her more than 400,000 TikTok followers. A few phone calls later, and the rising singer/songwriter found herself in the studio with Sidewalk Prophets’ lead singer Dave Frey. Lane and Frey shared the story with fans earlier this week on Instagram and TikTok live chats.

Originally found on Sidewalk Prophets’ The Things That Got Us Here, the 2022 iteration of “I Believe It Now” stands at the intersection of faith and doubt. The addition of “Songland” contestant and former atheist Olivia Lane lends a different dimension to the track as she brings her real-life testimony to light with every note. The passionate, sweeping duet finds Lane and the Dove Award-winning band exploring the tension between belief and reality through a fresh string-laden melody filled with both conflict and resolve.

As the single continues to climb the radio charts, Sidewalk Prophets is currently making their way across the country on the group’s headlining “I Believe It Now Tour.” The 35-city outing continues this weekend with dates extending through May. This summer, the band will host fans in their hometown of Nashville for the “Great Big Family Reunion” July 1-4, 2022.

Stream or purchase “I Believe It Now (feat. Olivia Lane)” HERE.

[EP] I Believe It Now – Sidewalk Prophets

Curb | Word Entertainment’s Sidewalk Prophets releases I Believe It Now (Alternate Versions) today (7/30) – listen HERE. The five-track collection offers fans a variety of renditions of “I Believe It Now.” Included in the set is a live version recorded last summer during the group’s historic livestream at the Ryman Auditorium, now viewed over 375,000 times. Watch Sidewalk Prophets’ powerful performance of “I Believe It Now” live from the iconic Ryman stage HERE.

Produced by Jeff Pardo and co-written by Sidewalk Prophets front man Dave Frey, along with Ben McDonald, Jordan Sapp and Ellie Holcomb, “I Believe It Now” encapsulates the tension between faith and doubt. “The more I listen and perform ‘I Believe It Now,’ the more moved by it I am,” Frey reflects. “Faith is hard sometimes, but God is bigger than our doubts. He pursues us through our unbelief. The truth is our doubt proves that our faith is small, but the God we serve will never abandon the ones He loves. He’s going to show up in ways that we can’t even fathom.”

The album version of “I Believe It Now” was originally recorded for Sidewalk Prophets’ latest full-length project, The Things That Got Us Here, which topped the Billboard Christian/Gospel Albums chart upon release.

The Dove Award-winning band is currently sharing new music from The Things That Got Us Here, as well as previous hits, on their “Great Big Family Reunion Tour,” which kicked off in June and runs through the fall, with Sidewalk Prophets visiting fan-selected venues across the country. Their first in-person run of shows since COVID-19, the “Great Big Family Reunion Tour” follows a year of innovative livestream concerts for the band that generated more than 35K virtual audience members.
