GOSPEL ACCORDING TO AFROBEATS is not just our first mixtape for the year 2022 but our first in more than two years, It has been our desire to make this a reality, but for some reasons God has been orchestrating our paths towards unleashing this masterpiece this particular day and time.

Nigerian Afrobeats, Ghana Afrobeats has taken the world by storm in the past 2 years, Mainstream artistes like Burna Boy, Wizkid and their likes giving their contemporaries irrefutable reasons to tag Afro Beats as “the new pop” has further propelled the African musical heritage across Europe and the globe at large, Thanks to some Afrobeat DJs a lot of people take out time to make Afrobeats playlist.

However the gospel music sphere is not shying away from this musical evolution as amazing artists like Limoblaze, Gil Joe, Marizu, Protek, Oba Reengy, Prinx Emmanuel, Ada Ehi, Afolake and a plethora of others have not only found this new genre but are blazing the trails on multiple fronts in the acclaimed AFROGOSPEL.

GRAMMY® Award-winning songwriter, producer and critically-acclaimed artist Brooke Ligertwood drops the second single “Nineveh” from her forthcoming live solo album “SEVEN” which is now available for preorder. Out today on all digital platforms with an accompanying live performance video, “Nineveh” is written by Ligertwood along with Pastor Steven Furtick and is a narrative journey through the Biblical book of Jonah that concludes with a personal, individual challenge. The piano-driven anthem soars into “God have mercy” refrains that were written into the song from its genesis specifically for a choir to sing – a vision that comes to life through a powerful live ensemble of voices in both the audio and video recordings.

“When Pastor Steven Furtick messaged me in the spring of 2021 and said he and I should write a song called ‘Nineveh,’ the ‘world’ of this song immediately sprung to life in my spirit and we began and completed this work a relatively short time later,” says Ligertwood.

Ligertwood adds, “It is a rare and deep joy to be able to write a song that closely examines a narrative of scripture while simultaneously inviting the listener to allow the scripture to examine them. ‘Nineveh’ is one such rarity and I feel honoured to have co-written it with a songwriter and thinker I immensely respect – it was a joy from beginning to end.”

On-the-rise rocker Munday Martin just released “Reactor,” his second single since ringing in the new year – available to stream/download worldwide.

Pulling inspiration from some of INXS’s 80s/90s greatest hits, Martin’s song “Reactor” is the seventh single he has released in the last seven months. The driven artist plans to continue releasing a single per month. Aiming to quench listeners’ growing thirst for creativity and original sounds in the rock space, “Reactor” is unpredictable and a breath of fresh air.

“There’s a temptation to try to sound like everyone else when in reality, we need to sound like what God put inside of us,” Martin said.

“Reactor” was written to address people who normally overreact to what life throws at them. Martin realized after writing the single that the lyrics were really a reminder to himself.
