“Defender” was originally written by Bethel Music vocalist Steffany Gretzinger with Rita Springer and John-Paul Gentile. Springer recorded it for her 2017 album Battles.
Francesca Battistelli was taken by the lyrics and started using the song during worship at her church. When she decided to record the tune for her Own It album, Battistelli’s husband suggested she reach out to Gretzinger to see if she’d like to sing the song with her. Gretzinger readily agreed.
Battistelli has done well rendering a Neon Feather Remix of Defender.
You go before I know That You’ve even gone to win my war Your love becomes my greatest defense It leads me from the dry wilderness And all I did was praise All I did was stay still, stay still
Hallelujah, You have saved me So much better Your way Hallelujah, great Defender So much better
Your way You know before I do Where my heart can seek to find Your truth Your mercy is the shade I’m living in You restore my faith and hope again
Hallelujah, You have saved me So much better Your way Hallelujah, great Defender So much better Your way
When I thought I lost me You knew where I left me You reintroduced me to Your love You picked up all my pieces Put me back together You are the defender of my heart
Hallelujah, You have saved me So much better this way Hallelujah, great Defender So much better Your way So much better Your way

Jesus Culture’s aced artist and enchanting worship leader Kim Walker-Smith renders heartfelt single “Insatiable”.
‘Insatiable’ is an honest and vulnerable song written by Mitch Wong, Dustin Smith, and Chris McClarney.
The lyrics speak to the deep love God has for us and the lengths He would go through to win our hearts. There is also a beautiful response in the lyrics that tells God that He can have it all. His love is an all-consuming fire, and He is worthy of our surrender.
Indeed God’s love is Insatiable, He’ll never stop till he has it all.

Contemporary Christian Band, Elevation Worship released her brand new project, At Midnight on friday, August 30. This project consists of five songs, including their already-released single, “See A Victory.” The songs on At Midnight tell a timeless message: God is in control even when we aren’t.
“I think my favorite part about this project is its versatility,” says Chris Brown of Elevation Worship. “It has uplifting anthems like ‘See A Victory’ and slow ballads like ‘With You.’ One reminds us that God will fight our battles if we invite Him in, and the other reminds us to lean into Him in the stillness. I just feel like this project has a song for every season and a mantra for every mindset.”
At Midnight was recorded at Elevation Church Matthews and includes songs like “See A Victory,” “It Is So,” and a live version of “With You,” which originally appeared on their last project, Paradoxology.
“For this album, we drew a lot of inspiration from Acts 16 where Paul and Silas are thrown into prison,” says Chris Brown. “As they worshiped God, verse 25 tells us that the prison doors swung open at midnight and their chains were loosed. With this project, we asked the question: What if our praise was the kind of praise that broke chains?”
