[Download] Thanks Sir – Remmy Nwoko

Remmy Nwoko is a Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter, teacher of the gospel, legal practitioner, creative writer, wife, and mom.

Remmy started singing in the children’s choir at the early age of 6; she has held various leadership positions as a choir member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and Christ Apostolic Church respectively.

The song THANKS SIR was borne out of an inspiration of the Holy Spirit and an expression of gratitude for all that the Lord has done for me and my family. It’s a summary of our testimony. And the mantra Jesus, THANKS SIR is an expression coined by ‘yours sincerely’ to show an overwhelming state of thankfulness to God Almighty.

“Thanks, Sir” is off Remmy’s soon-to-be-released “Love Song” album. With inspiration drawn from a deep sense of reverence for the Lord flowing from a heart of gratitude, the “Love Song” album is a true example of “worship in spirit and in truth”.

Produced by Harmony House of Music.

A new song titled ‘All the glory’ was released on Friday the 16th of January and it has been the tune on everyone’s lips. From the Christmas season into the new year, we all have been singing ‘You deserve all the Glory, Yahweh, Yahweh.

All the Glory - Steve Crown

“All the Glory” simply talks about the awesomeness of God and how He is our help and deliverer in times of trouble. We can all testify that at some points in our personal lives, we had reached a point when everything looked dark and discouraging.

And it was then that the Lord showed up for us. This is an experience we have all had and Minister Steve Crown has blessed us with this song in which we can give all glory to God.

“All the Glory” was ministered live at Karios Night by minister Steve Crown himself and this version is now out for download on all platforms.

Allow What People Show You to Pressure You at Your Peril

About three years ago, I finished serving my fatherland (the popular NYSC) and because it was during the COVID-19 outbreak, I had to return home because I couldn’t get a job.

Towards the end of that year, I landed my current job. Of course, I had done some jobs in between but they weren’t as good as this one.

Shortly after I got this job, a place opened up very close to us and I later discovered that it was someone I knew that was in charge of the place. We had served together and he gave off this vibe like he owned the place.

I remember asking myself whether it was the 19,800 naira “allawee” we were receiving that he saved up and used to set the place up and equip it. I just brushed it off; concluding that he might have gotten a loan or that he had a sponsor that provided him with capital and afterall it wasn’t my business.

So we continued to work; we had some collaborations between us and everything was moving smoothly.

Fast forward to this year that we just started, he got a better job and had to leave. That was when I found out that he wasn’t the one that owned the place.

I’m learning that people only show you what they want you to see. Everything is not always as it seems. You only see in part; you don’t always get to see the full picture.

That’s why we get frustrated most of the time; because we’re comparing our real-life moments with people’s highlight reels.

More importantly, I’m learning to stay in my lane and focus on my journey. When athletes run, they don’t focus on their competitors or spectators. They maintain their lane and their eyes are fixed on the finish line.

Stay in your purpose lane. The most crucial part of success is discovering your purpose. The journey is a lot easier when you know where you’re headed. Yes, there may be detours, impediments, delays, cancellations, and all manner of setbacks but as long as you press on, you’ll eventually get there.

Don’t allow anybody to pressure you with what they show you. Some people are actually who they say they are; others are just fronting. I saw a quote somewhere that says “Don’t compare your back of house with someone’s front of house” (paraphrased).

In other words, don’t compare your day one with someone else’s day ten thousand.

I remember when I had just gotten admission into the university, one of my senior colleagues that was in his final year at the time used to tell us that the only difference between him and us was time. Given time, we would all become like him someday.

Permit people and their progress to inspire you when you start to feel under a lot of pressure to be like someone, remind yourself that you aren’t on the same journey as them.

Eventually, if you stay true to your calling and are diligent, everything will fall into place for you. In the meantime, enjoy your process and cherish every moment.

Tim Menzies Enlists Familiar Friends For ‘He Reminds Me’

He Reminds Me, the highly anticipated third Christian recording from GRAMMY-nominated singer/songwriter and guitar virtuoso Tim Menzies, is set to bow March 3 (New Day Christian Distributors). Showcasing a dozen selections all penned or co-penned by Menzies—one of Nashville’s most prolific songwriters—He Reminds Me was produced by Ben Isaacs (The Isaacs, The Oak Ridge Boys) and features collaborations with some of bluegrass and Gospel music’s leading names.

Among the album’s standout tracks is “The Church,” a tender ballad honoring the eternal impact of a humble country congregation. With vocal contributions from The Isaacs’ Ben Isaacs and multi-GRAMMY, CMA and ACM Award-winning artist Ricky Skaggs, the song holds a deeply personal meaning for Menzies.

“My wife grew up in the church, but I did not become part of the church until later in my adulthood, so this song is based on observing my wife’s family through the years,” Menzies explains. “Ben and Ricky were both raised in the church and have beautiful voices that blend and fit the track perfectly. Having them sing on ‘The Church’ felt like a divine idea, and it’s been a complete blessing to me as well.”

unnamed 5 1

Further highlights of He Reminds Me include lead single “On My Father’s Side,” a poignant look at Jesus as both the Son of Man and Son of God; “What Are You Waiting For,” a timely invitation to surrender featuring bluegrass/Gospel icons The Isaacs; toe-tapper “Sanding Off The Edges,” showcasing GRAMMY-winning modern bluegrass trailblazers Rhonda Vincent and Union Station’s Dan Tyminski; and the album’s emotive closer, “One More Reason,” with GRAMMY-winning singer/songwriter Jason Crabb and Ben Isaacs. He Reminds Me also includes contributions from acclaimed country singer/songwriter Rebecca Lynn Howard, as well as Menzies’ wife, Brenda, who is featured on three tracks.

“Every guest vocal and musician on this album has a distinct sound that complements the lead vocal, collaborating to convey the specific message of each song,” Menzies shares. “Our Savior Jesus says in Matthew 18:20, ‘For where two or three come together in my Name, there am I with them.’ When fellow disciples share our God-given creative gifts in His Name, His presence is undeniable. And when we sing together for His glory, I know His presence is also felt by the listener.”

“The Bible fundamentally informs my songwriting, and as a result, many of the songs on He Reminds Me function like parables,” Menzies adds. “The album has themes of God’s grace and the availability of the indwelling Holy Spirit to all who seek Him, while also recognizing that the time to choose Jesus as Lord and Savior and gather others unto Him is now.”
