Tedashii Releases Deeply Reflective Ep, This Time Around 2 and New Single, “Holy Ground!”

Rapper, public speaker, podcast host, and founding member of the 116 Movement, Tedashii, is releasing a new EP, This Time Around 2, on October 14th. The album features Jon Keith, Big Breeze, Zach Paradis, and Reach Records label mates: Lecrae, Trip Lee, and 1K Phew.

“This Time Around 2 is the outcome of deep self-reflection, a new beginning, and a call to listeners to witness the transformation that is available on the other side if you’re willing to do the work and surrender yourself to God,” shares Tedashii.

Tedashii’s special sauce lies in his distinctive style and ability to transfer pain and struggle into poignant music. Nicknamed TDot, the Texas-born and raised emcee has captivated fans with his energetic sound and booming voice for nearly two decades. His latest project, This Time Around 2, picks up where the original released in 2016 left off and this time around he brings even more wisdom into his music from hard-earned lessons learned. “I talk about what I have lived and not what I’ve learned from reading. As a result, I have a renewed sense of awareness and am constantly working on loving myself and pushing forward through insecurities.”

In advance of This Time Around 2, Tedashii has released several singles and music videos including: “Mirror Talk,” “OBJ,” and “Respect My Team” featuring label mates, Lecrae and Trip Lee and the latest “Holy Ground” directed by Dustbrandfilms. “Wherever I go, God is with me! As a matter of fact, as someone who is made in the image of God, and one who believes that God is the Creator of everything, where I step because he is with me is Holy Ground so I treat life and the world as such. I walk in and show up as my true self knowing I’m on Holy Ground,” shares Tedashii.

“Mirror Talk is a very confessional song. It’s honest, vulnerable, transformative, and reflects some very personal struggles that I’ve navigated through,” shares Tedashii. “In the first verse of “Mirror Talk,” I talk about my struggles with mental health, self-esteem, identity, and even the fear of not fitting in. The second verse talks about my experience as a Black Man in the world at large and the conclusions I’ve come to trying to navigate through white Christian spaces.”

“Respect My Team,” marks the first time that he, Lecrae, and Trip Lee have recorded together since “Nothing I Can’t Do,” released on his 2014 album, Below Paradise. The heartfelt lyrics on the “Respect My Team” speak to the brotherhood between Tedashii, Lecrae, and Trip Lee that launched the 116 Movement and the Romans 1:16 verse which is at the core of Reach Records’ mantra and mission. “I’m always super excited to record new music with Trip Lee and Lecrae. We’ve been friends and label mates for nearly two decades; they’re some of my favorite artists. So, to create new music together is super exciting!” The Texas natives also include a chopped & screwed version of the song on the EP.

In the comedic action music video for “Respect My Team,” which casts Tedashii, Lecrae, and Trip Lee, as Blaxploitation era detectives taking down villains, the three icons go deep undercover and into character. “Some of my favorite films growing up were Kung-Fu flicks,” shares Tedashii. “When I was a kid, I watched Kung-Fu theater every Saturday! I watched everything from Bruce Lee to The Heroic Trio and was a superfan of Jim Kelly, and Chuck Norris. I was such a huge fan of karate flicks that I started taking martial arts as a kid, so many of the moves you see me doing in the video come from my childhood. I still watch Kung Fu flicks to this day!”

In between recording the new music, TDot launched a new podcast called The Dash which is in its second season. “The goal of The Dash is to hold a mirror up to myself and invite guests on to have a real conversation about the reflections we see in our mirrors and how we’re living out our dash. We’re all created with unique gifts connected to our life purpose. Our conversations will explore the journey we’re on, the things we’ve learned, and even what we’re changing to become reflections of God,” shares Tedashii.

He’s also formed a nonprofit foundation, The Chase Foundation, in honor of his one-year-old son, Chase, who passed away in 2012. “After the sudden death of my son, Chase, I was dealing with panic attacks every week and had bouts of anxiety and depression. I started self-medicating, drinking, and isolating myself for safety and ended up in a self-degrading cycle. I was clinically depressed, and after years of self-analysis, therapy, prayer, and time alone with God, I am finally ready to show my scars, despite their ugliness,” he explains. “The loss and pain will always be there, but I’m feeling healthy again. Through The Chase Foundation, I hope to walk with young people the same way I walked with Chase had he still been with us. The Chase Foundation will also help connect parents who have lost a child with resources to assist them as they grieve.”

With new music on the horizon, producing and hosting season two of The Dash podcast, and even forming a nonprofit, Tedashii, is taking this time around to share his renewed relationship with God through his music. “My renewed vision for this music is to show people the risk of trusting God with the things we go through. But, it’s worth it, and if you can hope, you can eventually heal.

[Album] Worship Anywhere – Israel & New Breed

3x GRAMMY-winning collective Israel & New Breed unveil their new live project ‘Worship Anywhere’ via District 11 Entertainment. The moving 14-track album was recorded live at Camp New Breed in Nassau, NY, and features spirited collaborations with Adrienne Bailon-Houghton, Joe L. Barnes, DOE, Nate Diaz and more — all led by 6x GRAMMY-winning artist, songwriter and producer Israel Houghton.

LISTEN TO ‘WORSHIP ANYWHERE’ HERE

“My wife Adrienne always has these wild ideas at 5AM, and one day she said, ‘I know what we’re gonna do. We’re recording the new record at a camp with adults,’” Houghton explains. “After thinking about it for a while, I was totally on board. We always say you can worship anywhere, and I think this project is a testament to that. It’s also a testament to the fact that, in today’s day and age, you can record anywhere too. It was really important for this album — when you watch the videos and even when you just listen to the music — to feel like fans are truly immersed in the process, and I was like, ‘What is more immersive than 45 people in a circle in worship?’ Drop some mics into that – that’s immersive. So, while the recording process was very challenging, it was also extremely rewarding and fun, and I hope fans feel like they are alongside us at Camp New Breed when they listen to this new music.”

Pulling from the group’s past work, the impressive project opens with “New Breed Anthem” — a stomp-clap singalong that will get all New Breed fans on their feet and ready to dive into the record.

The thumping, fiddle-driven “Wrong About You” featuring Joe L. Barnes is a must-listen for all who have experienced a troubled relationship with faith, as the group details the journey to opening their eyes to the joy that God truly brings. “Blessing and Honor” featuring Anna Sailors is a simple, yet beautiful, worship anthem that flows straight into the powerfully harmonious anthem “Worthy.”

New Breed strips back the noise on “Flow Like A River,” taking a moment to reflect on the great healing works being done in our daily lives before the high-octane energy returns on the heart-thumping call-and-response title track. The driving spirit continues in “Campfire Coritos,” which features Israel’s wife Adrienne Bailon-Houghton and sister-in-law Claudette Bailon and is sung entirely in Spanish. The album closes with a compilation of traditional worship songs in “Spirit Medley.”

Worship Anywhere – Israel & New Breed

Israel Houghton is a 6x GRAMMY-winning gospel singer-songwriter, band leader, and innovator whose 23-year career with the musical collective New Breed has taken him around the world, growing and adapting in surprising ways over a very transformative stretch of music and cultural history.

Since the release of his first studio album in 1997, Houghton has looked to the live performance format as a means to blur the lines between band, family and audience, including 2004’s ‘Live From Another Level’ and 2005’s ‘Alive in South Africa,’ the latter of which won the GRAMMY Award for Best Traditional Gospel Album. Houghton would later take home three awards for Best Pop / Contemporary Gospel Album and eventually a Best Gospel Album award for 2015’s ‘Covered: Alive In Asia.’ Israel recently welcomed his first child with wife Adrienne Bailon-Houghton, baby Ever James.

[Album] One Word – Nike

Gospel singer and songwriter Nike Adegoke finally drops her debut album “One Word”.

The songs on this album began their journey when Nike was only nine years old and tell the inspirational story of her growth and relationship with God.

Nike has been writing songs since she was a child. By the time she was a teenager, she was singing in fellowship groups like TOM club and in Christian youth concerts.

The 14 tracks are from all different periods in her life, each speaking to her relationship with God at that time. She draws great inspiration from her faith as well as the struggles and testimonies of her life.

She hopes that by sharing her testimonies and how they’ve grown her relationship with God, she can inspire others to do the same.

A  beautiful testimony to Nike’s life and faith

One of the most influential parts of Nike’s life and relationship with God was her struggle with infertility. For eight years, Nike and her husband, Tobi, award-winning choir director and producer of TobiKeyz Productions, could not have a child.

Nike never lost her faith. She continued to trust God and now has two beautiful children, a girl and a boy. This powerful story inspired her album as she worships God through her art. She wants her story to help others maintain their hope and faith, even during hard times.

Nike has four decades of music experience dedicated to the praise and worship of God. Her inspirational songs have been changing lives for a long time. Her new album “One Word” will be the culmination of her lifetime of praise and testimony. Each track was thoughtfully and carefully written with her faith in mind.

Her album is produced by TobiKeyz Productions based in the United States. She can be found on Instagram under @nikezmusic and Facebook as Nike.

Nike is currently  nominated for Rhema Awards 2022 as “OUTSTANDING FEMALE GOSPEL SONGWRITER”. Her new album ‘ONE WORD’ also is nominated for “OUTSTANDING GOSPEL ALBUM OF EXCELLENCE’.
