In the early months of 2025, while country singer-songwriter Shari Rowe was in the midst of tour life, sharing stories, lifting spirits, and bringing her music to audiences across the U.S., her health began to take a troubling turn. What started as small concerns grew into symptoms that made performing increasingly difficult. Soon, the stage lights dimmed, replaced by long days in doctors’ offices searching for answers and praying for clarity.
Then, in March 2025, came the news no one ever wants to hear. Doctors told her she showed signs of Multiple Myeloma, a rare and often fatal blood cancer. At that moment, time seemed to stop. Shari found herself sitting with the reality that her life, this precious gift from God, might be far shorter than she ever expected. For the first time, she truly felt the weight and fragility of the life the Lord had given her. But it was in that stillness, God stirred something within her heart.
On the very day she received her diagnosis, Shari began to write. In the midst of fear, confusion, and prayer, words poured out of her. What began as a poem became the seed of a song that would later be titled “Too Good To Go.”
“I wrote Too Good To Go on the night when I really thought the worst was happening—dealing with fear as a person of faith and pondering the juxtaposition of fear and gratitude,” Shari says.

Even for believers, it can be incredibly hard to surrender our fear to the Lord. When life breaks away from our plans, when the unknown feels overwhelming, and when tomorrow feels threatened, trusting God can feel like the hardest step to take. Shari doesn’t hide the fact that she struggled. Yet through her struggle, she offers us a testimony of hope.
As she wrote, prayed, and leaned into God’s presence, Shari felt gratitude welling up inside her. She realized how deeply she was loved by God and by the people He had placed in her life.

In a world that fears loss, Shari reminds us of something profoundly spiritual, that we are blessed to have people and moments we cannot imagine losing, and even more, we serve a God we can never lose.
After releasing her fear into God’s hands and choosing to trust His plan, surrendering to whatever it might be, Shari received new medical results. Doctors discovered she did not have cancer after all. Instead, she had a rare but non-life-threatening autoimmune condition known as Eosinophilic Fasciitis, a turn that only God could orchestrate. The disease would require care, but her life was not ending. The valley had not claimed her. God had carried her through.
Today, Shari Rowe lives with renewed gratitude, thankful for the life she has, and overwhelmed with joy that she gets more time to live it. She felt called to release “Too Good To Go” not just as a personal testimony, but as a reminder to every listener that everything can change in a moment, to not wait to be grateful or trust God or to cherish the blessings you have been given.
