Download Mp3 : Tasha Cobbs Leonard – In Spite of Me ft. Ciara

Tasha Cobbs Leonard – GRAMMY winner thrills fans with the release of “In Spite of Me,” featuring platinum-selling superstar Ciara, available now across all digital outlets.

The track comes just days after the powerhouse singer/songwriter scored a #1 debut on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart with her new album, Royalty: Live at The Ryman, released by Motown Gospel.

A reimagined studio version of the original, “In Spite of Me” featuring Ciara is a feel-good song set to lush backing vocals and punctuated by passionate leads. The song’s lyrics celebrate God’s perfect love for imperfect people: “Every scar, every flaw, You see it all, You see it all / You still love me, love me, in spite of me.”

Tasha Cobbs Leonard is equally ecstatic about the collaboration.

“Ciara is an icon. A role model. A wife, mother, and a lover of God,” she shares. “Her musical versatility is undeniable and I am so glad she joined me on this song to tell people about the unconditional love of God.”

Tasha Cobbs Leonard releases INTERCESSION – EP

Grammy Award Winning, Top-selling artist Tasha Cobbs Leonard, releases a new 4-song EP, Intercession, available on all platforms.

Announced for the first time earlier this week, Intercession is a 20-minute worship set that was captured LIVE at Nashville’s historic Ocean Way Nashville.

The inspiring lead single “Let It Fall” reminds listeners that the glory of God was never meant to be driven or controlled by us; it was meant to be carried.

The EP harmoniously shifts into the passionate, simmering moments of “Move (Out Of The Way)” and “Hallelujah (You Get The Glory),” before closing with the high-spirited refrain “He is Lord.”

Still on track to record the highly anticipated LIVE recording, Royalty: Live at the Ryman this August, Tasha Cobbs Leonard continues to be moved by her passion to connect people to God, offering Intercession as a timely antidote for a troubled world.

Currently the top-selling female artist in gospel music, Tasha Cobbs Leonard first entered the global music scene with the 2013 release of her RIAA Platinum debut single, “Break Every Chain.” Since then, Cobbs Leonard has amassed multiple #1 singles, four GRAMMY nominations, numerous Stellar Awards and Dove Awards, and two RIAA Gold albums. Tasha Cobbs Leonard has earned the Billboard Music Award for Top Gospel Artist for the past two consecutive years. Royalty: Live at The Ryman will be Tasha Cobbs Leonard’s first full album of new material since the 2017 release of Heart. Passion. Pursuit., which remains one of the highest-selling gospel albums of the past five years.

LYRICS

VERSE 1:
There is a sound I love to hear
It’s the sound of the Saviour’s robe
As He walks into the room where people pray
Where we hear praises He hears faith

CHORUS:
Awake my soul and sing
Sing His praise aloud
Sing His praise aloud
Oh awake my soul and sing
Sing His praise aloud
Sing His praise aloud

Oh hallelujah
His praise yeah

VERSE 3:
There is a sound that changes things
The sound of His people on their knees
Oh wake up you slumbering
It’s time to worship Him

CHORUS:
Awake my soul and sing
Sing His praise aloud
Sing His praise aloud

Oh awake my soul and sing
Sing His praise aloud
Sing His praise aloud

BRIDGE:
And when He moves
And when we pray
Where stood a wall now stands a way
Where every promise is amen

And when He moves
Make no mistake
The bowels of hell begin to shake
All hail the Lord all hail the King oh

BRIDGE 2:
(Hey oh
Oh let the King of glory enter in
Hey oh
Fall down on your knees and worship Him
Hey oh
Let His praise rise up don’t hold it in
Don’t hold it in oh oh oh)

CHORUS:
Awake my soul and sing
Sing His praise aloud
Sing His praise aloud

Oh awake my soul and sing
Sing His praise aloud
Sing His praise aloud

LYRICS

God, I’m on my knees again
God, I’m begging please again
I need You
Oh, I need You

Walking down these desert roads
Water for my thirsty soul
I need You
Oh, I need You

Your forgiveness
Is like sweet, sweet honey
On my lips
Like the sound of a symphony
To my ears
Like Holy water on my skin

Dead man walking, slave to sin
I wanna know about being born again
I need You
Oh, God, I need You

So, take me to the riverside
Take me under, baptize
I need You
Oh, God, I need You

I don’t wanna abuse Your grace
God, I need it every day
It’s the only thing that ever really
Makes me wanna change

Oh, it’s like Holy water on my skin
Yeah, it’s like Holy water on my skin
