Reach Records, a pioneering label for CHH artists and a trailblazer for the genre has introduced an unashamed lifestyle to fans who love Hip-Hop and Jesus for two decades!  This year they’re celebrating “116 Day,” and kicking off 2023 with a new single, “Walk” featuring Lecrae and Hulvey!

Reach Records also announced their new show, “116 Life,” streaming on Sirius XM Channel 154 every Tuesday at 8pm on Holy Culture Radio.  A partnership with Holy Culture Radio, “116 Life” is co-hosted by Reach Records executives, Marcus Hollinger(CMO) and Lasanna “Ace” Harris, (multi-platinum Grammy Award-winning producer and SVP of A&R). “116 Life” will feature riveting conversations with a rotation of VIP guests that explore faith, current events, and topics relevant to hip-hop and CHH culture with exclusive world premieres of new music from Reach Records and beyond. “Our aim at Holy Culture Radio (HCR) is to provide progressive music and empowering conversations that prompt people to connect, collaborate and inspire others as we collectively share the Gospel within the culture,” shared Hollinger in a previously released press release. Tune into “116 Life” airing on Holy Culture Radio every Tuesday at 8 pm, streaming on SiriusXM 154.

Reach Records – Walk Ft Lecrae & Hulvey

The first show airs on January 17^th and will feature an interview with Reach Records co-founders, Lecrae, with CEO Ben Washer who will take you on a journey of Reach Records from its founding in 2003 to the present.  

Since the 116 Movement began, Reach Records roster has grown from its sole artist, multi-award-winning artist, and New York Times best-selling artist, Lecrae, and expanded from original 116 members Tedashii, Trip Lee, to include Andy Mineo, and newcomers 1K Phew, Wande, Hulvey, WHATUPRG.

Another big move for Reach Records is the inclusion of Tedashii‘s single “Get Out My Way” ft Lecrae in Apple’s iPhone 14 “Action Mode” commercial. The song, selected from his Never Fold album (2019) was played in an advertisement that aired on January 9th during the NCAA National Championship game between the TCU Horned Frogs and Georgia Bulldogs. “So I turn on the game, and this happens!!!” shared Tedashii excitedly on Instagram. “The new commercial from Apple for the iPhone 14 features my song ‘Get Out My Way.’ Tell Lecrae we got one lol!”

Reach Records will be celebrating the 50^th Anniversary of Hip-Hop and their own 20^thAnniversary in big ways in 2023!

During critical times in human history, great art and artists emerge! Rapper, pastor, and founding member of the 116 Movement, TRIP LEE, is back and this time it’s for good! In 2021, he surprised 116 fans with a new song, “You Got It,” a single released on Reach Records’ Summer ’21 Playlist. He followed quickly behind with “Supernatural,” a warm-up song for a forthcoming album.

In response to recent, growing allegations towards hip hop artist GAWVI regarding harassment and lewd behavior, Reach Records has announced that they will no longer be working with the artist. He has also been dropped from the label’s upcoming WE ARE UNASHAMED TOUR.

This was a tough decision for us because of the level of complexity and because we invest in our artists not just for their talent, but also as brothers and sisters in Christ. This is something we have been processing for over a year and have wrestled with what would be the right way forward. New details that have been provided to us made us realize today’s decision was necessary. We also want our actions to be a reflection of love, care and concern for those who fail and those who are affected by our failures. 

Each of us needs God’s grace and we invite you to pray for the families and individuals whose lives are being impacted. This is not a chance to throw anybody away. We continue to hope for restoration to be the outcome.

Reach Records kicks off 2022 announcing pre-sales for We Are UNASHAMED TOUR which kicks off March 17^th in Austin, TX and travels to 13 cities across Midwest, South, and Southeast regions ending April 10th in Orlando, FL. The tour, branded We Are UNASHAMED references Roman’s 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes!” The verse developed from a mantra and into a movement for Reach Records, its artists and believers of the 116 Lifestyle. The lineup will include electrifying performances from Lecrae, Andy Mineo, Trip Lee, Tedashii, 1K Phew, Gawvi, Wande, WHATUPRG, and Hulvey! Ticket sales begin TODAY, Wednesday, January 26^th.

Along with the tour announcement, Reach Records has released a new, We Are UNASHAMED EP, featuring three singles: “Represent II,” “Pa’ Que Sepa,” and “Otu Otu Isii.” Musically, the We Are Unashamed EP showcases Reach Record’s commitment to expanding the 116 music, movement, and lifestyle globally. “Represent II” featuring Wande, 1K Phew, Wande, Trip Lee, and Gawvi is a turn up version of Lecrae’s Represent ft. Tedashii, originally released on Lecrae’s 2004 debut album, Real Talk. “Pa’ Que Sepa” (translated ‘So You Know’ in Spanish) featuring Tommy Royale, Brayan Booze, Don Ryvcko, Cardec Drums, and Emanuel Lara; and “Otu Otu Isii” (translated ‘One One Six’ in Igbo) which features Limoblaze, Tedashii, and Wande.
