Worship leader and songwriter Pat Barrett announces his “Acoustic Nights” tour featuring special guest Josh Baldwin. This tour will include an intimate night that weaves together stories and songs of worship that will begin on March 23rd and conclude on May 18th.

“One of the things I love about writing songs and leading worship and sharing those songs is that something unique and special happens every time you share a song with a different group of people in a different city, church, or moment in time, there’s always just a uniqueness that happens,” shares Pat Barrett. “I hope with these acoustic nights that unique place opens up in each community.”

Sponsored by Food For The Hungry, the “Acoustic Nights” tour will feature Barrett’s popular hits including, “The Way”, “Build My Life”, “Canvas and Clay”, “Sails” and “Better”, and Josh Baldwin’s top songs such as, “There is Freedom”, “Evidence”, and “Stand in Your Love.” This will be a night of communion set against the backdrop of just a guitar, the presence of God, and the church.

Barrett continues, “I’ve never done a tour like this before. Some of my favorite times of worship have been in the simplicity of a space with just people and songs, and the willingness to participate in worship together. This year the iconic worship song, “10,000 Reasons (Bless The Lord),” written by Matt Redman and Jonas Myrin celebrates a decade of impacting the world with its message. Today Worship Together releases the newly recorded 10th Anniversary edition of the song featuring Redman, Pat Barrett, Bryan & Katie Torwalt, Crowder, and Naomi Raine. “Just this week I was shown phone footage of a precious family in a Ukrainian city, caught up in the horrors of war,” Matt Redman explains. “Wrapped in winter coats and huddled together in a cold basement, still they sang out their worship – using the song ‘10,000 Reasons’ to give voice to their hearts of faith. It was a humbling video to watch. It’s been a decade now since this simple song was released, but I don’t think I’ll ever get used to these kinds of stories. I’ve met some truly astonishing worshippers along the way – people on cancer wards or in the firing line somehow finding their way to the place of praise – and using ‘10,000 Reasons’ as their soundtrack. I love the new 10th-anniversary version that Capitol Christian Music Group has commissioned – and it’s a joy to join friends Pat Barrett, Naomi Raine, Crowder, and the Torwalts on it.”

We were Worship Pastors at a church in Central CA when the song came out, and it has been a staple ever since. We both grew up listening to and leading Matt Redman songs in youth groups, and so to get to sing on this 10-year Anniversary version of this incredible song with him and some of our friends is a huge honor!”

“In the end, what truly matters? We all want our lives to mean something,” shares Pat Barrett. “I think that’s why the message of this song hits me so hard. For me, it cuts through the noise of shallow, self-obsessed living and opens me up to a higher perspective. I don’t want to get to the end of my life and feel the sorrow of meaninglessness. It doesn’t have to be that way. Jesus presented a path to deep eternal joy and meaning rooted in divine love. And that message doesn’t have a shelf life. It’s timeless. And even more, it’s eternally significant. Writing and singing this song with Dante was such a powerful experience. For me, this song has been a beautiful confrontation to any message that promises soul fulfillment apart from love.”

Since the release of the song, it has been gaining online traction. It is the top-performing video on Barrett’s YoutTube channel above his No. 1 single “Build My Life.”  Currently, the video has 435.5K views on FaceBook and YouTube as well as 485k audio streams to date.

“‘Nothing/Something is such a special song,” states Dante Bowe. “When Pat asked me to feature, I was honored. Pat Barrett and Harolddd released the official video for “Lightning.” The song was written a few weeks ago in response to the death of George Floyd.

“Lightning”: A lament and a prayer. Written in pain and laden with hope. HB and I started writing this on May 27th after the murder of George Floyd.

Pain…old old pain, anger, peaceful protests, riots, racism, white supremacy, Jesus, mercy, Justice, disbelief, fear, sorrow, criticism, hate, need, and so much more…what can be done? For us, this has been a song for “now.”
