Carr has this to share about her latest single, “I BELIEVE GOD is a reminder to ALL that there’s no expiration date on the miraculous power of God. All He asks of us is to believe. The Bible tells us in Mark 16:17, “These signs shall follow them that believe”.

Many times, things that occurred or is occurring can cause many to lose faith because we tend to worry about something that is God’s responsibility, which is to perform. Multiple award-winning singer/songwriter, Jekalyn Carr, will spend this holiday season gracing the cover of Pandora’s Christmas Spirit mode for one week beginning December 16 and concluding on December 22, 2022. Carr will also be featured as host of the Christmas Spirit Mode on Pandora’s billboard in New York’s Times Square (Broadway between 45th and 46th Streets) for one week.   

On December 10th 2022, Carr performed in New York City at the famed Carnegie Hall, in a sold-out event titled “Night Of Inspiration,” which was produced by Ray and Vivian Chew of Chew Entertainment. Carr performed “Mary Don’t You Weep,” with the legendary gospel singer, Shirley Caesar, and took part in a tribute to Richmond Smallwood singing, “Total Praise,” but the highlight of the night, was Carr performing an original piece of her own music, “It’s Yours,” with the Carnegie orchestra.

On Friday, November 4, 2022,  Carr released her new holiday single titled, “Great Christmas,” which has reached # on the Billboard Gospel Airplay Artist Chart, #2 on Billboard’s Gospel Airplay Song Chart, and #7 on the Mediabase Gospel Airplay Chart. 

Seven-time Stellar Award winner and 2x Grammy-nominated recording artist, VaShawn Mitchell, will be conducting a live recording for his newest album, “Chapter X” at Sound Board at Motor City Casino Hotel on Monday, October 31 at 7pm. This album embarks on the journey of “newness” with a new sound and energy that his fans are going to love!

With one push of a button it’s official, Tennessee State University’s Aristocrat of Bands submitted an application to the Grammy nomination committee for their album The Urban Hymnal in the Best Gospel Roots Album category. A win would make the TSU marching band the first collegiate band in history to receive the music industry’s highest honor for an entire album! Band members were on hand for the big submission as fellow band member Logyn Rylander, a senior commercial music major from Philadelphia, PA, did the honors of hitting the send button to submit the application. The Urban Hymnal is set for release later this month (Sept 13).

“This is huge and very exciting for our students, band members and for Tennessee State University,” said Dr. Reginald McDonald, director of bands for TSU.

“None of this would be possible without the leadership of University President Glenda Glover. We especially thank her for being a visionary and allowing our band program to grown within her vision for the TSU.”

Award winning poet, recording artist J. Ivy and two-time Grammy award-nominated songwriter and artist Sir the Baptist were present as a show of support and contributors on the album. The groundbreaking album has 10 tracks filled with organic sounds that were created on the TSU campus and features trailblazers within the gospel music industry. Music moguls and acclaimed artist such as Jekalyn Carr, Fred Hammond, Kierra Sheard, John P. Kee, Louis York, Dubba-AA, Sir the Baptist, Prof. Jenkins, Take 6, Mali Music, and more are on the album. Executive producers Larry Jenkins, assistant band director and music heavy weights two-time Grammy award-nominated songwriter and artist Sir the Baptist, and platinum recording artist, TSU alum Dubba-AA were also hand for the submission. Top-selling, popular Gospel star Jekalyn Carr was presented with the Key to the City, by City Commissioner, Natalie Hall last night, July 14, 2022, also proclaiming it “Jekalyn Carr Appreciation Day.” The event kicked off the exciting, events filled Stellar Awards Weekend in Atlanta.

Last night, at the Bear Tag Entertainment celebrity basketball at the Riverside Epicenter, Carr was presented with a proclamation and the Key to The City in recognition of her success as a Gospel artist and her contributions to the arts and entertainment community in Atlanta and her continued efforts in furthering opportunities for young women in Georgia.

Though she wears many hats, powerhouse singer Jekalyn Carr continues her winning season as a recording artist. In July, Carr will co-host the 37^th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards alongside the gifted Kierra Sheard-Kelly. This is a double first for Carr, who is the youngest artist to co-host the show for two consecutive years. This will also be the first year that two female artists assume co-hosting duties. 

At radio, Carr’s single “My Portion” has hit the #1 position on Billboard’s Gospel Airplay chart, making it her sixth #1 radio single and bringing her tally of career number ones to 10.
