JJ Heller releases new music with “Wild and Precious Life.” The track was written by Heller, David Heller, and Andy Gullahorn. Heller shares on social media,
Dave and I wrote it with our good friend @andygullahorn with the hopes it would be a good fit for a father/daughter or mother/son dance at a wedding.
We started thinking about what that moment would be like, watching our child ready to start the next chapter, moving further into adulthood. I know it will be a swirl of emotions: pride, sadness, joy, love.
I’ve always loved the Mary Oliver poem: “Tell me, what do you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” It struck me that these sentiments are perfect for a wedding, as families stand on the edge of what was and what is yet to come.
Marriage is a leap of faith… and so is letting your child grow up. But all we can do is take one step at a time and do our best to keep dancing through this one wild and precious life.
Heller began releasing monthly singles in April 2017 that together have amassed over 55 million combined streams to date (through August 2020). The songstress will continue to announce a brand-new song on the first Friday of each month.
Mack Brock releases new music with a single titled “The Best Is Yet To Come” featuring Pat Barrett. The track is available now to download or stream and can be heard below.
Brock shares the heart behind this new song in a post to social media:
I’m an optimist. It’s one of the reasons I love January… it brings anticipation and expectation for the new year ahead. But to be completely honest, this past month was one of the hardest Meredith and I have faced in a long time. In January, we lost three people that were very important to us. Three people that we loved dearly and it’s been really difficult to navigate. It’s been a bad start to the year. And when what’s in front of you is so bad, its hard to find things to look forward to… And yet, when we look at the heart of Jesus. Who he is. The promises he has made. I can trust that even when it’s dark, He promises that He is the Light of the world. When heartbreak tempts me to become hopeless I force myself look towards the Light. The best is ahead – even if it doesn’t look like what we anticipated or what we thought we wanted. God knows our name. He knows our needs and we can believe we have something to look forward to. The Best Is Yet To Come is a song has been hidden in my heart for months now – constantly reminding me to rest in His goodness to me. I love that I can share it with you now. I hope it encourages you to do the same.
GRAMMY®-nominated and GMA Dove Award-winning David Leonard – artist, songwriter, storyteller, and producer – announces the release of “Every Hour,” the debut single with his new label partner Sony Music/Provident Label Group. Available now at all digital outlets, a performance video for “Every Hour” is also out and can be viewed below.
“‘Every Hour’ was birthed when I was leading worship at my dad’s college, where for the past 30 years he was a pastor and where I started leading when I was 15,” Leonard shares. “My father was leaving to become the pastor at my home church, so during one of his last gatherings at the college, he asked me to lead worship. I was doing Matt Maher’s “Lord I Need You” and out of that song a spontaneous moment happened, which is special because I’d never written a song that was birthed out of the same place that taught me how to lead worship. It was really cool to have it come out of that moment and space.”
Finishing the song with Josh Baldwin and Stefan Cashwell, Leonard recollects, “Just like everybody else, through these last couple of years, I’ve really realized that the need for God is great. For me, I tend to try to make reminders and try to live in the space of constantly trying to remember, and this song has been that for me. It’s become an anchor point that I’ve been able to fall back on and I’m really proud of it.”
David Leonard has been playing, singing, writing, and recording music since college when he and his friends formed the band Jackson Waters. He later performed with NEEDTOBREATHE before recording as one-half of the critically acclaimed and GRAMMY-nominated duo All Sons & Daughters. Leonard is also a GMA Dove Award-winning producer (Confio/Jaci Velasquez) and creative partner in The Creak Music (Ben & Noelle Kilgore, NEEDTOBREATHE, Brandon Heath, All Sons & Daughters). His songwriting credits include “Great Are You Lord,” “Christ Be All Around,” “All The Poor and Powerless,” and “God Who Moves The Mountains.” He released his solo project The Wait in the spring of 2019 with much acclaim from critics.
GRAMMY® Award-winning songwriter, producer and critically-acclaimed artist Brooke Ligertwood drops the second single “Nineveh” from her forthcoming live solo album “SEVEN” which is now available for preorder. Out today on all digital platforms with an accompanying live performance video, “Nineveh” is written by Ligertwood along with Pastor Steven Furtick and is a narrative journey through the Biblical book of Jonah that concludes with a personal, individual challenge. The piano-driven anthem soars into “God have mercy” refrains that were written into the song from its genesis specifically for a choir to sing – a vision that comes to life through a powerful live ensemble of voices in both the audio and video recordings.
“When Pastor Steven Furtick messaged me in the spring of 2021 and said he and I should write a song called ‘Nineveh,’ the ‘world’ of this song immediately sprung to life in my spirit and we began and completed this work a relatively short time later,” says Ligertwood.
Ligertwood adds, “It is a rare and deep joy to be able to write a song that closely examines a narrative of scripture while simultaneously inviting the listener to allow the scripture to examine them. ‘Nineveh’ is one such rarity and I feel honoured to have co-written it with a songwriter and thinker I immensely respect – it was a joy from beginning to end.”
After six mainstream albums with Sony Music under maiden name “Brooke Fraser” and in parallel, 17 years with Hillsong Worship, which she still currently leads globally, Ligertwood is combining her two decades of experience as an artist/producer and her passion for serving the church with her new solo offering under Capitol CMG.
Recorded live in Nashville, TN, “SEVEN” consists of entirely brand-new worship songs written by Ligertwood and husband/longtime collaborator Scott, Jason Ingram (who co-produced the album with her), Pastor Steven Furtick, Brandon Lake, Phil Wickham and friends. It features a band composed of gifted musicians from the breadth of the modern worship movement (Hillsong, Bethel, Vineyard, Elevation), a 30-piece choir, and a collection of stunning new prayer-soaked songs written and arranged in line with Ligertwood’s singular vision with Jesus at the center.
“Nineveh” follows on the heels of “A Thousand Hallelujahs” which continues to impact audiences around the world. The debut single from “SEVEN” has amassed over 1.7M global streams in just two weeks since release. Already No. 2 on Multitrack’s Top Songs chart, the live performance video has also garnered more than 645K views to date. Ligertwood’s full-length album is set for release on February 25.
