2024 ushers in a significant milestone for one of the world’s most beloved hymns, “How Great Thou Art.” Marking the 75th anniversary of this cherished song written by Stuart K. Hine, a group of award-winning artists came together to celebrate and record a version.
This special collaboration unites the voices of many of today’s top artists, featuring Chris Tomlin, Hillary Scott, Kari Jobe, Cody Carnes, Matt Redman, Naomi Raine, Blessing Offor, Jon Reddick, TAYA, Brian and Jenn Johnson, Matt Maher, Pat Barrett, Benjamin William Hastings, Ryan Ellis and Mitch Wong.
Commissioned by the Stuart Hine Trust, Matt Redman and Mitch Wong crafted the new verse, offering a strikingly powerful addition to the timeless hymn while hoping to stir souls and bring critical help to those in need.
“In the lyrics, we wanted to acknowledge the ‘broken, warring world’ we live in, but also to sing with hope and faith over that,” Matt Redman explains. “Worship isn’t meant to have an escapist mentality, where we ignore what’s going on around us in this fragile, fallen world. Instead, we can engage with these things, pray for, and acknowledge God’s ultimate kingdom rule and reign in the midst of them.”
Produced by Matt Maher and Steve Marcia, with the string arrangement by Tommee Profitt, “How Great Thou Art (Until That Day)” is administered by Integrity Music (internationally) and Capitol CMG (US).
The new recording was captured at Gold Pacific Studios in Los Angeles and the iconic RCA Studio B in Nashville, establishing a poignant connection to the legendary artist Elvis Presley. It was in 1966 when Presley himself recorded his GRAMMY Award-winning rendition of the song in the very same RCA studio.
Written by Hastings along with Lake, Cody Carnes, and Chris Davenport, the studio version of “Abandoned” was released on January 12 to high acclaim, marking it Hastings’ highest debut single to date with more than half a million streams since its release.
“This is a surrender song,” Hastings reveals about its theme. “It’s coming from the perspective of everything God has done for us and the ways in which He surrendered and modeled that for us. How would we not do the same?”

He adds, “At first listen, this song may come across like it’s about our abandon and sure, it is, but to me, it’s more about His. He who not only chose the cross but had ‘angels at His fingertips’ and chose to remain. Every second, deciding again not to give up but to persevere. To repeatedly pursue surrender, even at the hour of greatest agony. I can’t think of a more inspiring sentiment than this, and I guess that brings me back to why it may sound like a song about our abandon; Maybe that’s the only way to respond to His.”
This live recording of “Abandoned” was captured last fall while Hastings and Lake were touring together. He says, “I got to write this with some of my favorite people, and I’m honestly overwhelmed by all the excitement around it. I pray (like it has for me) it helps you articulate words that you didn’t know you had trapped inside, and ultimately inspires worship.”
“Completely, deeply, sold out sincerely, abandoned
I’m completely, freely, hands to the ceiling enamored
My one life endeavor
To match your surrender
To mirror not my will but yours
I’m completely, deeply, don’t care who sees me abandoned
Oh I surrender”
Additionally, Hastings partnered with Air1 Radio yesterday to exclusively premiere the live version. The network played the song at the top of every hour throughout the day.

Lizzie Morgan’s professional music career quickly launched in 2017 when she began singing background vocals for multi-GRAMMY Award winner Lauren Daigle. It was between tours that Morgan began honing in on her musical skills, performing with and writing for a variety of artists and projects including Matt Maher, Maverick City Music, Seasons Collective, Red Worship, and WILDER, a duo she formed with songwriter Stefan Cashwell. Their song, “Heaven’s Secrets,” achieved over 1M cumulative streams in its first year of release.
Yet it was growing up in Tennessee and being part of the church her grandparents started, Celebration of Life outside of Nashville, where Lizzie Morgan learned to sing and lead worship. Today, she continues to lead worship there while also splitting her time in San Jose, CA as part of the worship team at Redemption Church, the home of Red Worship.
“We are incredibly excited to begin this partnership with Lizzie Morgan, both on the label and publishing side,” shares Holly Zabka, President of Provident Entertainment. “We’re thrilled that the world gets to hear what she has been creating, and we can’t wait to hear more of Lizzie’s heart through these songs.”
Lizzie Morgan will be out on the road supporting her single and leading worship at multiple stops this spring.
Wilmington, D.E. — In 2016,The Northern Delaware Chapter, Inc. of the Gospel Music Workshop of America Recording Choir (NDC GMWA) released their debut album, GOD BE GLORIFIED, which earned them six Rhythm of Gospel Award nominations and two awards. Their powerful delivery and genuine praise have made way for them to sing for President Biden and recently at the celebration of life services for the late Wilmington District Councilman Ted Blount, the father of Delaware Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester.
In 2019, under the leadership of choirmaster Minister Wayne E. Carter, Sr. (The Maestro), the NDC GMWA Choir followed up with a hit radio single, “All Of My Help”. NDC GMWA is starting the new year stronger than ever with a hot new single, “More Than A Conqueror (Live),” that is fresh for Gospel radio and refreshingly empowering for listeners.
NDC GMWA Musical Director Pastor AJ Collier states, “The spirit of defeat and discouragement is rampant today. So many people feel hopeless and helpless. This song reminds believers that they have victory through Jesus Christ in every situation. When you are in Christ, and He is in you, victory is your portion.”
“More Than A Conqueror (Live)” features lead vocals by Kim Glass and A Jermaine Nixon. Nixon also served as producer for the song. The high-octane praise anthem is written by Brian Pittman.
“The sentiment of our new single gives to the believer that despite inconsistencies, struggles, and doubts, we have the assurance through Him that we can conquer anything,” says Wayne E. Carter, Sr. “The lyrics admonish us that we are victorious and triumphant regardless of what we see. More Than A Conqueror lifts and inspires my soul so I will not be defeated.”
“More Than A Conqueror (Live)” is taking off on Gospel radio and is now available on all digital music platforms. Their new single has already garnered the choir another six nominations for this year’s Rhythm Of Gospel Awards. The 2024 Rhythm Of Gospel Awards will occur on June 23, 2024, in Mobile, AL.

Nashville-based husband and wife duo, Don and Lori Chaffer of Waterdeep, releases “Into the Unseen” today (Jan. 26) at digital and streaming outlets globally from The Fuel Music. The song is the seventh single from the multi-artist A New Heaven And A New Earth project that celebrates the beauty of God’s Creation and calls believers to be faithful stewards of the world. The full-length project is slated to premiere in summer, 2024.
Written, produced and recorded by Waterdeep, “Into the Unseen” is an acoustic guitar-driven orchestral song that awakens the heart to the mystery of God’s beautiful gift of Creation, while asking us to consider how our choices affect our neighbors, all through lyrical storytelling reminiscent of Aesop’s Fables or the parables of Jesus.
“When thinking through the human condition and why there is a problem in the world,” Lori says, “sometimes the easiest thing for me is to process it in terms of a fable or a story.” While writing the song together, Don adds, “We were trying to articulate how we, as humans, wound up deciding it was not very important to care for our natural surroundings when that was actually the original commission, to care for the garden and all the creatures in it.”
“If someone gave me a car or a house,” explains Lori, “I would feel an obligation to take care of it. And how much more so if someone gave me a planet. Maybe I should consider how I live in it, and how that affects others.”

“There’s always part of our faith in God that goes beyond what we understand,” expounds Don. “We intuitively know what Lori says is right, but it’s like a truth we’ve forgotten. Thankfully, even a little time in nature, and we remember the majesty and mystery of Creation as well as the majesty and mystery of the God who made that Creation, and who reveals Himself through it.”
In addition to “Into the Unseen,” A New Heaven And A New Earth tracks already released include: GRAMMY®-nominated, Dove Award-winning Building 429 lead vocalist Jason Roy’s “It’s All Yours;” iconic singer/songwriter Phil Joel’s “Arms Around The World;” recording artist, actress and producer MŌRIAH’s “You Mean The World;” Dove Awards-winning, No.1 Billboard-charting, Stellar Award-nominated Aaron Cole’s “Together;” Roy, Joel and Don Chaffer‘s “Our Common Home;” and chart-topping recording artist and songwriter Micah Tyler’s “So Will I.”
Each of these well-known Christian artists felt led to participate, responding to the call to write and record a song on taking care of Creation. The songs collectively cover rock, pop, hip hop, R&B, indie, folk/ Americana and more musical genres.
Along with the celebrated artists pouring into the multi-artist A New Heaven And A New Earth project slated to premiere June 2024, their children are conversant participants not only singing and playing instruments on select songs on the recording and at live performances, but also producing the project’s video content, social media posts and website.
