Riley Clemmons Shares Clip Of Deeply Personal Unreleased Song “Idol”
This week, powerful singer/songwriter Riley Clemmons shares a bit of an unreleased song that is deeply personal to her. The song, titled “Idol” details some her experience with disordered eating.
I was journaling one afternoon when I had a bit of a lightbulb moment realizing how much I’d begun to idolize my reflection, what I was eating, how much time I spent at the gym, how great/not great I looked in photos, how I looked compared to other women, the list goes on. I can tell you this much: I was absolutely thinking about how I looked more than just about anything else.
I can’t say I’ve conquered this yet. It’s a work in progress, but writing this song was a step in the right direction. Songwriting has always been my way of trying to process my feelings & the things I’m learning.
I hope this song makes you feel less alone if you’re struggling. I also encourage you to seek the proper help if you need it… it doesn’t make you weak, it makes you human. –Riley Clemmons

Earlier this year, Clemmons dropped a surprise single “Runs Deep.” She co-wrote the song with Blessing Offor and Jeff Pardo for her Church Pew album, but it didn’t make it on the final record.
