[Music] Majenri – Femi Owolabi Ft. Mr Gbera

Nigerian gospel singer-songwriter and Music minister, Femi Owolabi is out with a brand new single and video titled “Majenri” (a Yoruba phrase that literally means “I Forbid It”). The prayerful song features celebrated highlife/fuji-fusion gospel singer Omotola Jaiyeola well known as Mr. Gbera, who brought extra flavor to the track with his unique vocals.

In Owolabi’s words; “Majenri” is not just a song but prayer in faith, rejecting all that is undesired in our lives. It’s an everyday declaration and prayer against negativity.”

Heavy on African percussion, “Majenri” is a highlife tune beautifully delivered in the Yoruba dialect (Southwest-Nigeria). The song which officially dropped at the tail end of 2021 is Femi Owolabi’s way of rounding off a great year and ringing the new year 2022.

[Music] VROOM – El Vow

At the end of 2021, Texas artist and deejay, El Vow turned the “Lights On” as the new year approached. Vow is no stranger to the spotlight thanks to touring with the top names in Christain rap including Social Club Misfits, Derek Minor, KB, and Lecrae. His impressive background has more than prepared him to stand front and center while keeping the party moving. Vow comes into 2022 with his foot heavy on the gas as he drops his first release of the year.

VROOM is a high-energy collision of hip hop and EDM that hits the listener in the chest like a deployed airbag. The record comes equipped with a trunk-shaking lowend that’s driven by a pounding kick drum. If melody is a song’s suspension, then VROOM is drifting around corners with ease. To top it off, the gospel of Jesus Christ is the motor that makes the single take off.

“[I’m] in my lane,” says El Vow. “Moving forward with what God has given me.”

VROOM is available now across digital music retailers including Spotify:

[Music Video] Rest – Aaron Shust

Aaron Shust shares the the official lyric video for “Rest,” which can be viewed below. The track was featured on Shust’s 2019 album Nothing to Fear. Shust shares about the track and release:

With lyrics taken straight from the Bible (Psalm 37:7, 42:1, 46:10 and Isaiah 7:4) this has become one of my favorite songs I’ve ever recorded. The beauty of strings coupled with their intensity remind me of the struggle that often exists when attempting to trust God with all the things we’d rather control ourselves.

Even as I type these words, the world outside my home is covered under a think blanket of snow. The schools in Middle Tennessee ground to a halt, most of Nashville did, with roads more treacherous than we’re used to navigating. We’ve been FORCED to stop and to rest. To depend on the provisions we have. To realize that even without school, appointments, sports, rehearsals and quick trips to the grocery store…the world keeps on spinning.

No one wants to be forced to rest, but thankfully, our God has INVITED us into His rest. Through daily sleep, the weekly Sabbath, and ultimately through His Son Jesus. “Come to Me” Jesus said, “all you who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest…learn from Me…you will find rest for your souls.” (Matt 11:28-29)
