[Music] Blessed Mode – Kel Mitchell

Two-time Emmy-nominated actor, producer, comedian, pastor, author, and artist Kel Mitchell releases his new single “Blessed Mode ft. nobigdyl and Scootie Wop on all music service streaming platforms today, March 11, 2022. “Blessed Mode” is an uplifting Hip-Hop track and workout anthem that is sure to inspire, uplift, motivate and make you feel victorious. The track arrives on the heels of his debut book Blessed Mode: 90 Days to Level Up Your Faith, a 90-day devotional from which the inspiration for the song is derived.

Following his extensive career in entertainment, starring in beloved fan favorites including Nickelodeon’s Kenan & Kel, All That, and cultural epic feature film Good Burger, among many others, Kel combines his love for music and his spirituality on the single “Blessed Mode.” Kel knows what it’s like to struggle through depression and addiction, but he also knows the power of God’s presence to help you find freedom and the blessings in your life. As a youth pastor at Spirit Food Christian Center, Kel is passionate about sharing this testimony of hope with the next generation, and he wants to share it with his audience, too, across mediums and his platforms.“

Blessed Mode” ft. nobigdyl and Scootie Wop is the ultimate anthem to make you feel good, whether you’re in the gym, working out at home or just looking for that pep talk to lift you up and hype you up,” said Kel Mitchell. “This is a return to music for me, but the song specifically was inspired by the Hip Hop tracks I love to play as motivation for my students through my ministry, where we often listen to music to get ready to pray together. In the same way that I hope the book can inspire others to embrace their blessings and find strength spiritually, mentally and physically, I hope this song serves as the soundtrack to activate others’ BLESSED MODE!”

[Music] Mirror Talk – Tedashii

Rapper, public speaker, podcast host, and founding member of Reach Records’ 116 Movement, Tedashii’s special sauce lies in his distinctive style and ability to transfer pain and struggle into poignant music. Nicknamed TDot, the Texas-born and raised emcee has captivated fans with his energetic sound and booming voice for nearly two decades. While many come into their faith through trial and testimony, Tedashii’s next chapter begins with a long hard look in the mirror and with humility that comes from being honest about what he sees and feels.

Tedashii’s new double-single Mirror Talk is the outcome of deep self-reflection, a new beginning, and a call to his listeners to witness the transformation that is available on the other side if you’re willing to do the work and surrender yourself to God. The two singles featured in the double pack – “Mirror Talk” and “OBJ” – combine style and substance to deliver some of T-Dot’s most poignant rap moments.

As soon as the beat drops, Tedashii’s confessional lyrics open the track, “I hate what I see in the mirror, what I saw got me scared to face the truth like in a court of law.” “Mirror Talk is a very confessional song. It’s honest, vulnerable, transformative, and reflects some very personal struggles that I’ve navigated through,” shares Tedashii. “In the first verse of “Mirror Talk,” I talk about my struggles with mental health, self-esteem, identity, and even the fear of not fitting in.” As you continue to listen, you learn more about the man TDot sees reflected back when he looks in the mirror.

“I confess man, I see myself as less than – or more or less – really, less than the rest man/ But they ain’t responsible for my weakness, despite my secrets man am I my brother’s keeper I grew up in East Texas with a Black mom and discovered that I was biracial at the age of 9, and my biological father is Samoan. Until that point, I thought I was adopted because I didn’t look like anyone on my mother’s side of the family, and sometimes, I felt like I didn’t fit it. But, when I met my father’s side of the family, I finally discovered people who looked like me!” Hence, his lyrics in “Mirror Talk,” “The only thing slim about me–my disguise. Yelling ‘Unashamed’ all while ashamed of my size. Body and ego, Poly and Negro,” speak to insecurities he had with his physical features and physique. The second verse talks about his experience as a Black Man in the world at large and the conclusions he’s come to trying to navigate through white Christian spaces.” He ends “Mirror Talk” with stating that he’s “done with people using me for white blessings!”

A poised and self-confident Tedashii reintroduces himself with style, flair, and presence on the second song, “OBJ.”He channels his iconic vocal tone through an experimental rap performance. He triumphantly announces, “I’m back, and like OBJ, despite everything I’ve gone through to get here, I’m better than ever!” The song is named after NFL receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and celebrates his NFL journey moving from team to team and ultimately winning a Super Bowl championship. In the opening verse of “OBJ,” Tedashii raps, “T-Dot got his groove back/fast-track like that H-O-V, I’m looking back where you at?” The record is a stylistic triumph for the emcee whose recent commercial success found him #1 on the Billboard Christian AC and CHR charts with his 2019 single “Gotta Live” ft. Jordan Feliz.

Before releasing Mirror Talk, Tedashii released “Lights In The City,” a song featured on the Summer 21 Soundtrack presented by Reach Records. In between recording the new music, TDot launched a new podcast called The Dash, and a nonprofit foundation, The Chase Foundation, in honor of his one-year-old son, Chase, who passed away in 2012. He is also hosting and producing a new podcast called The Dash.

With new music on the horizon, producing and hosting the podcast, and even forming a nonprofit, Tedashii brings his life and lessons learned into all he is creating. “This is hard-earned wisdom! I talk about what I have lived and not what I’ve learned from reading. As a result, I have a renewed sense of awareness and am constantly working on loving myself and pushing forward through insecurities,” he says. “My renewed vision for this music is to show people the risk of trusting God with the things we go through. But, it’s worth it, and if you can hope, you can eventually heal.

The video for “Broken Halos” was shot in Eagle Mountain, California, described as a “modern-day ghost town,” in which the duo fly through the depths of brokenness, while gravity tries to keep them stuck on the ground. Finally finding their wings, rocks, dirt and their mistakes falling past them, they launch into the beauty and majesty of the mountains, finding their strength as the song lyrics suggest.

WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR?, FOR KING + COUNTRY’s fourth studio project, features the talents of brothers Joel and Luke Smallbone, with 13 new original tracks that confront relevant issues and confirm the duo’s commitment to community, unity and family. Set against a sonic backdrop painted by the Platinum-selling group’s lush, vivid pop, the collection features cameos from Dante Bowe, Kirk Franklin and Tori Kelly, and includes barrier-breaking single “RELATE,” awe-inspiring “For God Is With Us” and unifying No. 1 hit “TOGETHER.”  “What Are We Waiting For? – The Tour” will take FOR KING + COUNTRY to arenas across the United States, performing brand new songs from its upcoming album for the first time, against the backdrop of an all-new stage design.

“The last two years have been very unique for all of us,” says Luke. “It’s been a strange time. Going through struggle, you end up asking yourself some interesting questions like ‘What am I doing with my life?,’ ‘What do I want to be known for?,’ ‘What am I living for?’ I think the phrase, What Are We Waiting For?, encompasses the meaning behind this album.”

Joel Smallbone adds, “The last few years have taken us from wondering what was happening, to worrying. This album was a way to look at and write about — from a family perspective, from a spiritual perspective, and from a global perspective — this global suffering that we’ve all walked through. Our hope is that this title means something slightly different to each of us. This album is an opportunity for us, together, to get moving together again into what we believe is a very bright future.”

[Music] All The Right Mistakes – Arbor North

With northern grit and southern charm, Arbor North is the result of a divine appointment, decades in the making. Michael Boris and AC Jones’s story is one of being in the right place at exactly the right time, when following your heart and instinct can lead to something spectacular. The strength of their Christian faith has played a huge role in their relationship and continues to guide them as they navigate life as newlyweds and band-partners.

Both Michael and AC were brought up within Christian families, and it is this which has underpinned their belief and love of God throughout both hardships and good times. Michael’s faith was tested during a terrible divorce, after which he was taught the strength of the Lord’s healing and the value of the people in his life who helped guide him through the dark night of the soul.

AC, along with her family experienced some very painful (and at times, even very dark) situations in their own church, a period that was incredibly testing on their faith. But it was the journey through these times which opened their hearts and minds to realising the full power of the Lord and whilst people, buildings, organisations may fail, the Lord will always remain steadfast.

Though born and raised in different cities, Michael is sure that it was an act of divine intervention which brought him to meet AC at a music industry event in Nashville, Tennessee at the beginning of 2020. While their meeting was brief, the connection between them was undeniable. Within a few months they were committed to a long-distance relationship and more than a year’s worth of text messages, phone calls and FaceTime calls paved the path to them saying “I do” on a beautiful Sunday in October 2021.

The duo make their music debut with new single ‘All The Right Mistakes’. Co-written with esteemed Nashville songwriter, Bill DiLuigi, the lyrics explore the ways in which each one of life’s twists and turns, all of our choices and mistakes, are a part of a divine purpose. They are clear that, as Arbor North, they are musical artists with a Christian faith, as opposed to Christian music artists. As such, they reach an audience, the majority of whom may not have a strong faith. They intend to share the love of God not by what they preach, but by how they act and what they do, hoping that through our music, they can spread hope and joy in a way that mends hurting hearts and encourages broken spirits.

“When Bill suggested the title ’All The Right Mistakes’ it hit us so powerfully right out of the gate, because the story of how we found each other was the result of two roads, once paved with heartbreak, pain, and yes… mistakes, merging to give us the happy ending we had always prayed for.”

In a reverse timeline to many other married musical duos, it wasn’t their music that made them fall in love but rather their love that brought their music together. Singing together in the kitchen for fun, the newlyweds felt an incredible compatibility with their voices and discovered the same chemistry when they sat down for writing sessions together, which were fuelled by their shared love for coffee. With a sonic landscape that combines their shared influences of modern country, rock, soul, with a little bit of funk, and heartfelt, autobiographical lyrics, Arbor North promises music that is fun, memorable, and nostalgic.

Arbor North are delighted to be one of the first US acts announced for Millport Country Music Festival this summer and are excited to make their debut UK performance at the festival on 20th August. More UK dates are forthcoming.
