Last week, Grammy Award winning rock band Switchfoot shared the news that the group’s 2021 collaboration with NEEDTOBREATHE and JUDAH is now available to download and stream at all DSPs. It was released last year as an Amazon Original song.

Earlier this year (Sept 2022), Switchfoot announced their new LP, this is our Christmas album, is due out November 4th. Marking the band’s first-ever holiday record, this is our Christmas album finds Switchfoot infusing their signature West Coast sound to a number of holiday classics and five, new original Christmas songs. Cheery, nostalgic and brimming with sunshine, the 11 track collection was inspired by everyone from the Beach Boys to Black Flag, and promises to be the perfect soundtrack for the holiday season with a new California twist.

“Christmas is an emotional treasure chest for a songwriter to pull from,” lead Singer Jon Foreman says. “It’s a season stretched tight with contradictions: celebrating the free gifts of love and grace with an outburst of materialist capitalist consumption. An emotional roller coaster of family and friends, hopes and scars- bringing out the worst and the best in all of us.” A project that’s been years in the making, this is our Christmas album, wraps its arms wide around these contradictions.

Whether through patriotic themes, or tributes to her faith, Lady Redneck is establishing herself as a powerhouse in the Christian Country genre. With her latest single, You First Loved Me, she continues the trend of devotion to her faith. This down-tempo ballad utilizes a simple yet effective melody to underlie the soprano vocal performance Lady Redneck is attributing to her signature sound style.

What we have, in essence, is a lyrical presentation where the vocals have become their own solo instrument, not so much in the Acappella feel, but rather a continuation of the dynamic range of the piano accompaniment.

With Lady Redneck slipping in and out of key to the main melody, it creates a tension that draws the listener in and accentuates the reproachfulness, and remorse of the subject matter as the theme carries out a realization that her religion was there before she found it. As an accomplished singer by all rights, this modulation of key centers is a deliberate act that further demonstrates the control Stephanie “Lady Redneck” Lee is achieving with each release.

Apart from the instrumental bridge section, You First Loved Me is a soft ballad that carries a steady pace throughout. This pace, however, is cleverly resolved in the final stanza with dynamic strings and keys-only
resolution. “You First Loved Me, but I’m glad you do, and Lord I love you too.” With the ever-growing catalog of singles that revolve around her faith, and tug at the heartstrings of patriotism, You First Loved Me seems to fit very well within.

The choice to utilize a percussion-free performance brings a high degree of contrast to the normally high-tempo dance-friendly rhythms we have come to expect from Lady Redneck. With that said, there is still a great deal of potential commercial success for You First Loved Me in any Gospel and Christian radio format. This song could also be incorporated into a choral performance at any church service as the overall channeling of emotion would fill a hall quite elegantly. It is the expressive nature in which Lady Redneck demonstrates her devout message that makes this track approachable, and even enjoyable.

As stated by Stepahine “Lady Redneck” Lee. “This song is special to me because it takes the pondering of my heart and expresses it by asking questions about his omniscience and power.” By utilizing her dynamic metaphors and colorful imagery audiences are quite prone to feel the same magnetic response as well.

Ogochukwu Oye, now known as OGOCITY, is an urban gospel artist with a distinct style of praise and worship. The singer began her career in 2017 with songs like “I’ll be there” and “For you.” Both songs emphasized the importance of love and being present for those we care about.

In her recent journey, she transitioned into a gospel artiste after recounting how the death of her sister gave her clarity as she decided to channel her talent to win souls for the kingdom of God through music.

OGOCITY’s debut single, Citizen, is a song borne out of Philippians 3:20, which says, “But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus lives.”

The song is a gentle reminder to all believers of our true identity in Christ Jesus. That our citizenship isn’t of this world alone; we have a place with our savior in heaven. Our savior came and died, was buried and resurrected, and now is seated in heavenly places. The good news is that, as Christians, we have a place in heaven too, so we are citizens.

The song “Citizen” is fused with modern day pidgin to drive the point of our citizenship, further to the understanding of our listeners.

OGOCITY believes that in a world where there are so many voices, it’s important to remind Christians of what our savior, Jesus, did for us and who we are in Christ.

Hillsplay produced the anthem, and it features the Jesus hype man himself, Gerald Bishung. As described by OGOCITY in this new single, the song will give listeners a reason to dance while showing off their citizenship, which is in Christ Jesus.

Minister Aghogho puts out her second collaborative effort of the year in “Imela” featuring UK based minstrel Isabella Melodies. 

The new single comes after she released Great is Your Faithfulness featuring The Eze Ebube crooner, Neon Adejo. 

Imela (Done Me Well) expresses total gratitude to God for the uncountable things He has done and is still doing. 

Sharing the inspiration behind the song Aghogho said, The common English language we speak sometimes, seems insufficient to express our heart of gratitude to God so we look for the closest language to use and for me that was the Igbo language.

This song of gratitude expresses the passion and desire to praise and worship God with all our hearts.

Aghogho has great songs in her discography that have continuously blessed both the Christian and non – Christian community across the world and her efforts have earned her many recognition and awards.

Emerging Gospel artist, Kelvin Onuku returns with new single titled “Your Glory”.

The song is about God’s glory. When Moses asked God to show him more of His glory, he was asking God for an abundance or overflow of Himself in Moses’ life.

The Glory of God is the overpowering presence of God. The statement in Exodus 33:18 was made by a man who hungered for more of God’s glorious presence.

Gospel music minister, songwriter, and recording artiste, Bandele Kehinde Victoria, widely known as Veeki Royce releases her debut album titled “ELOHIM”.

The album contains 13 tracks, all of which were written by Veeki Royce: “Olorun Loke”, “This Year”, “Oba”, “Orun Si”, “Papa I Thank You”, “Relax”, “On God”, “E dey Show”, “Ikuku Amana Onya”, “Walking on water”, “Jehova”, “Son of God”, and “Iremide”.

The fast-rising worship leader also featured Gospel artists on the Elohim album, such as contemporary Gospel singer Adeyinka Alaseyori, Spaghetti records CEO, Evangelist Mike Abdul, and its label artiste, A’dam.

Speaking about the extensive body of work, she reveals that the release of her debut album is the best decision of her life. “I thank God Almighty for this journey. It has been beautiful serving God”, she said.

Veeki Royce made her first extended playlist, “The Call” in 2021 of five tracks, and went further to release more songs resulting in her debut album. According to Royce, her music is inspired by the happenings around her and it is a privilege to be a soldier for Christ.

Award-winning Gospel music group, “The Pillaz” is out with a brand new single titled “IRODIDUN”. 

The Acapella group has consistently been a blessing in the gospel music ministry for over a decade and has been linked to many great sounds in the past, 

they are also known for their versatility with languages and this is evident in one of their recent projects titled “The Languages” 1&2.

The new song “IRODIDUN” is a hymn rendered in Yoruba which The Pillaz Music decided to rearrange in their own style to suit the sound of the moment. 

This is their first project after being signed under the management of TWC Records and was produced by Tkeyz, mixed, and Mastered by Roland Archy for TWC Records.

Worship leaders Bryan & Katie Torwalt are releasing a studio version of their song “Sound Mind” available today. The original version of the song was released earlier this year on the couple’s first-ever live-recorded album, I’ve Got Good News. 

“We were sitting with our friends, Jonathan and Melissa Helser in the summer of 2020, talking about hearing God’s voice in the middle of the chaotic time we were living through collectively,” share Bryan & Katie Torwalt about the story behind “Sound Mind.” “How do we discern? How do we carry peace? And how do we see from a Kingdom perspective? The verse and phrase that continued to repeat in our spirits was found in Timothy 1:7 — For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.”

The original version of the song has more than 840k streams and a special New Song Cafe video will also be debuting.

They continue, “Let this simple song be a prayerful reminder of the clarity and peace we are given by God and promised in His word.”

The Torwalt’s released I’ve Got Good News following their No. 1 song on Air1 “Miracle In the Works.” Their recent album also highlighted live video content for each song that was captured in Orange County.
