The self-declared blonde bombshell of Country music is back with another Christmas offering. This time Lady Redneck releases her version of the classic The Christmas Song. This release features our soprano vocalist accompanied with a piano to give us an almost operatic rendition of a typically baritone delivery. The discordant vocal performance revolves in and out of key while Lady Redneck explores the many different concepts of the main theme, utilizing vibrato, legato, and counterpoint to create her own melody and rhythm. This uncommonly used technique is rather daring but given Lady Redneck’s penchant for breaking the traditional rules of singing, this works out rather well for her. The Christmas Song is delivered in a downtempo, almost morose timing leaving plenty of open space in the main melody.
This openness allows Stephanie “Lady Redneck” Lee to explore and offer a performance that would not be possible had the tempo been brought up to its normal moderato pace. This vocal performance comes full
circle during the crescendo as Lady Redneck reaches deep into her register and produces a full-out attack of the final lyrics to encapsulate the performance and leave lasting memories of this track that will carry us through the holiday season. The falsetto high-pitch opera-like vocals capture the build-up and release the tension she has built up throughout the piece to leave listeners feeling content and thoroughly entertained.
The Christmas Song is yet another excellent addition to the growing catalog of holiday hits from Lady Redneck. Set to be released on December 16, this track is brimming with anticipation and will satisfy the demand for new tracks as the holiday fatigue starts to set in. The Christmas Song would make a perfect addition to any Middle-of-the-Road, Adult Contemporary, Soft Rock, and Country commercial radio playlist for the holiday onslaught of hit songs. Lady Redneck should find much success with this track as it would also be ideal for your Christmas dinner or party playlist. The production of this song is very well-executed as the vocals ring out crisp and clear with all those subtle nuances mentioned above being able to be heard with clarity. The overtones of Lady Rednecks’ voice ring out clearly through the listening space and fill that space with power and elegance. The piano, although soft at some inopportune times, maintains a constant melody in which the vocalist accompanies, while maintaining a base key to return to when she travels around the functional boundaries. Personally, I find this version of The Christmas Song fresh and exciting. A contrast to the over-saturated versions we are typically presented with. A track that will be added to my holiday playlists, it will bring heartfelt joy to your holidays as well.

The smooth elegance of HeIsTheArtist is back with his latest single, God Is On My Mind. This suave and sophisticated offering is a soulful reproach to a testament of devotion to one’s religion and the way the messages play on our daily lives and the decisions we make. Deep down this is a track about patience.
Using this archetype coupled with religious imagery HeIsTheArtist is able to produce a down-tempo smooth song that challenges his listener yet entertains at the same time. “God is on his way, They tried to get paid on it, Tried to make a way on it, Woosah, Tried to make a buck off me, Tried to make it off of me.” It is this colorful imagery coupled with the intense metaphor that allows this performer to reach a vast audience, regardless of the connotations involved. Listeners should pay extra special attention to the steady pulsing groove that plays out so delicately in the background, that deep vibe is slightly syncopated from the main melody giving this essential gospel song a jazzy feel. Ultimately the preacher delivers his message in the long run, a culmination of thought and process, as God Is On My Mind reaches its crescendo; “But God took those chains off me, Because God is on my mind, Each and every day, God is on his way.”
With its moderate pacing and repetitive alliterations of the “Woosah”, audiences are hypnotized by the power of the song and sonic parallels to deliver a greater message. The production on God Is On My Mind is meticulous and precise, as all the subtle samples incorporated throughout this piece are clearly defined within their own frequency range, yet blended in a way to complement each other. The main vibe of the track allows the melody to play over the rhythm leaving the groove as its own life force.
For a track of religious implications relying on faith as the primary thematic approach, this method of breathing life into a groove is highly professional and very adept for an artist to pull off. God Is On My Mind may be limiting itself to Gospel and Christian radio formats only due to its subject matter yet I feel this track would be well served on Jazz, and Easy Listening formats as well. Sometimes we need to hear a message but not have it screamed at us to the point of it becoming noise, HeIsTheArtist has managed to deliver a powerful message of faith in a way that soothes and calms us while completely entertaining the audience.

From his debut album Live On Record, folk singer, and guitarist Pete Miller releases his first single; Hard To Find. This fast-tempo shuffle features our baritone singer exploring the traditional rebellion melodies of yesteryear while offering a contemporary approach to the theme.
A song about finding oneself after you feel lost, this narrative is rich in imagery and metaphor while maintaining that steady pulse and syncopated swing. “You may go away, but the story will survive. You want to return, but wonder if you’ll arrive. All the greenness of life will feel so wrong. Why you doubt it, still helps you along. When you suffer, you’re out of this land.
When you came back through that door, the waves didn’t remember your feet on the shore.” As the lyrics flow from this wordsmith, the constant strum of the acoustic guitar preserves and cultivates the melody giving this song the momentum it needs to push forward and build tension.
This tension that I have alluded to is released in the final cadence of Hard to Find as Pete Miller utilizes his entire vocal range to deliver a strong finale to leave lasting memories for hours after listening. This tactic works so very well, as I have been compelled to replay this track over and over again. From a vocal approach this baritone, mid-range vocalist channeled the familiar folk sound of the sixties, yet provides just enough clarity and dynamism to make this a modern contemporary hit single.
The production on Hard To Find is very well-executed. The guitar rings crisp and clear allowing the overtones from the full chords to play out of the listening space, while not interfering with the dynamics of the vocals. Pete Miller’s voice is distortion-free, and with plenty of allotted headroom is able to be played back at high volumes, (which is recommended to really get in the vibe of this track). Hard To Find would be a perfect addition to any Adult Contemporary, Middle-Of-The-Rock, or Soft Rock commercial radio format. Its highly replayable melodies make this track soothing, yet challenging for a diverse audience. Personally, I feel Hard To Find is a surprisingly great track, it may take a couple of listens but it really does seem to get into your ears and is thoroughly entertaining. As I continue to absorb Hard To Find, I find myself very drawn to tackle the rest of the Live On Record album, as I am sure there are many additional gems to be found as well, stay tuned for more from this emerging folk artist.

Since its late October radio release followed by an early November physical release with accompanying video, miQa.El has amassed quite impressive streaming numbers for his release Walking Medicine. Along with this success, the messages are still prevalent. As a fitness guru, and meditative advisor, miQa.El writes straightforward songs that have essential meanings.
Now don’t get me wrong this is now a simple song by any means but a simple song, but this is a track that reminds people to invest in themselves and to “Just Breathe”. The pure power of positivity. Walking Medicine features miQa.El and his acoustic guitar, the performance that follows is again anything but simple. With an impressive melodic intro, followed by some intriguing chord choices, Walking Medicine becomes a clinic in guitar fitness as well as a vocal clinic. That in itself is fine, but is Walking Medicine an enjoyable track? Yes it is, the coupling of lyrical prose with melodic mastery with a topping of good old fashioned pop songwriting gies
listeners an uplifting piece that they can jive to. Of course the accompanying music video brings visuals to this, of miQa.El dancing and showing off his physique, but you can be the judge of that.
Walking Medicine is a clever track and one that can be enjoyed by a vast audience regardless of how you come at this track. Commercial radio would be apt to pick this track up for their playlists due to the infectious hooks, colorful melodies, and introspective messages. Walking Medicine is a great fit for Adult Contemporary, Middle-Of-The-Road, Country, or Soft Rock formats, as well as any party mixes or workout inspiring tracks to get the blood moving. The production of this track is like the songwriting itself, mature, professional, and sophisticated. I enjoyed this piece of music and look forward to hearing more from this Swedish country singer gone New Age in the coming months. Look for miaQ.El on your favorite streaming service, and
understand why these impressive numbers are sure to skyrocket.
