Curb Records artist Dan Bremnes seeks God in his darkest hour on his brand new song, “Call Your Name”.
“This is a song that has been waiting to be written for 18 years. It’s been growing inside of me along with my own story and struggle,” Bremnes candidly shares. “I had no idea it would take the loss of my mom, my faith and a dream to lay the foundation for these words.”
“Call Your Name” — one of the most personal offerings of his career — details a life marked by moments of prayer and petition from the first time Bremnes started talking to God at age five to the desperate pleas of a son, who lost his mother in a tragic car accident in his early 20s.
Approaching our Creator with an almost childlike faith, the singer-songwriter delivers raw emotion across a vocal that builds to a poignant cry, relatable to anyone who’s ever called out to Jesus at rock bottom. The Canada native wrote the autobiographical original with Benji Cowart and Jordan Mohilowski, who also produced the recording.
Opening the new year with new music, Bremnes preceded “Call Your Name” with atmospheric pop track “Started With You.” Both selections provide an initial glimpse into his follow-up to 2022’s critically acclaimed Into the Wild.

The confessional lyricist has been tapped as direct support for Katy Nichole’s upcoming “In Jesus Name Tour,” where he’ll be sharing future releases and previous hits in eight cities ahead of the award-winning songstress’ headlining set. The outing’s spring leg commences Mar. 6 in Anderson, Ind.
“Oh To Be Like You” is the third single coming from Anchor Hymns’s live recording at Covenant Presbyterian in Nashville, TN.
The new song is a mellow worship ballad led by Paul Baloche and Dee Wilson. This song came organically as Baloche recalled simply worshipping along co-writers, Travis Ryan and Wilson, and melodies flowed quickly.
Several scriptures pointed them to the theme of “being like Christ.” Inspired by this yearning, they penned “Oh To Be Like You” with the melody and chords evoking a longing – a soul cry – to be made into His likeness. “Our hope as songwriters is that this song would give fresh vocabulary to the listener and singer – whether in a congregation or alone in your home or car,” said Baloche.
“Songs can help us express emotions and truths to God.” “Oh To Be Like You” is both intimate and communal as the recording captured the congregation’s voices. Baloche concluded that, “This song serves as a prayer to remind me of my purpose for living.”

Chart-climbing recording artist Sarah Reeves recently made her feature film debut in God’s Here, a powerful family drama about faith, forgiveness, and new beginnings. Known for her soulful voice and powerful lyrics, Reeves also composed the film’s soundtrack.
This week, she received two award nominations from the 2025 International Christian Film & Music Festival (ICFF) for her role in the 2024 drama – one for Best Supporting Actress and the other for Best Musical Score.
Inspired by a true story, God’s Here follows Jack Gilmore (Billy McAdams, Jr.), a decorated firefighter and man of deep faith whose wife (Reeves) and son are killed in a texting-and-driving crash three weeks before Christmas.
In the wake of his loss, Jack is charged with a DUI and required to complete community service, during which he meets a young girl with whom he shares a conflicted and painful past. Meanwhile, as Detective Kent Powers (Hercules legend Kevin Sorbo) investigates the fatal accident, he uncovers a shocking revelation that personally ties him to the case.
“This film carries a strong message of hope and unity. It serves as a reminder that even in the face of adversity and personal trials, life can still hold moments of beauty and magic,” said Reeves. “I’m so blessed to have been part of this wonderful film and I’m grateful to the ICFF for this recognition.”
The soundtrack features five songs, including two originals written by Reeves specifically for the film. Her music enhances the movie’s emotional depth, offering listeners a heartfelt journey of faith and healing. Highlights include:
“Plans” – Inspired by Jeremiah 29:11, this track serves as a reminder that God has a plan for each of us, even in the midst of life’s darkest moments.
“Amazing Grace” – A tender and soulful rendition of the beloved hymn.
“Gentle Man” – A hopeful ballad about finding love unexpectedly, inspired by Reeves’ real-life relationship with McAdams, which began on the set of God’s Here.
“Christmas Feels Different This year” – A poignant track reminding listeners that, even in the face of adversity and personal trials, the holiday season can still hold moments of beauty.
The awards will be presented at the ICFF in Orlando, April 30-May 3.
God’s Here premiered on Saturday, November 2, 2024 in Granbury, Texas – the small, historic town just west of Dallas-Fort Worth that served as the movie’s backdrop. It is currently streaming on multiple digital platforms, including Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, DirecTV, Fandango, YouTube, Google TV, and DISH, among others.
Reeves’ nominations come as she’s experiencing a genuine career surge as a recording artist and songwriter. Late last year, her inspirational song “More Than Enough” — aimed at uplifting those bouncing back from toxic relationships — hit iHeart Radio’s adult contemporary song chart and shared the Top 10 with the likes of Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, Teddy Swims, Sabrina Carpenter, and Post Malone. The track has also spent nearly 20 weeks on the American Top 40 with Ryan Seacrest (Hot AC).
Born in Athens, Alabama, Reeves grew up in a musical household; her father, John Mark “Hershey” Reeves, was a musician, songwriter, engineer, and producer who helped establish Sound Cell Studios in Huntsville, Alabama, where Reeves recorded her first album. She began her musical odyssey at a young age, honing her skills in the church environment.
From competing in youth worship band competitions to securing a record deal and making albums, her trajectory mirrored the classic path of aspiring musicians. Since 2009, she has released five extended plays and six studio albums, as well as 26 singles.
In addition to pursuing her own artistry, Reeves has dedicated a portion of her career to writing songs for other artists for TV and film. Her music has appeared in Disney Plus and National Geographic’s six-part original series “Welcome To Earth,” starring Will Smith; Disney’s Raya and the Last Dragon international trailer; promos for “American Idol” and UFC; and on television series across major networks like ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, Hallmark and Netflix, among others. Reeves has also been featured on tracks by high-profile DJs, including: Gattüso, Laidback Luke, R3HAB, and Armin Van Buuren.
Her music has garnered over 174 million global streams.
Dutch maverick Harry Kappen takes another audacious leap with his fourth solo album, Four—a record that brims with raw emotion, eclectic sounds, and a fearless battle between head and heart. With its scheduled digital debut on February 28, 2025, Four finds Kappen expanding his sonic universe, melding rock energy, jazzy ballads, and pulsating Latin rhythms into a tapestry that feels as personal as it is politically and emotionally charged.
From the opening salvo of “The Longing,” Kappen invites listeners into a world where introspection meets rebellion. The track’s hypnotic lyricism—“Never lost the passion / Still longing for your love, you are out of sight”—sets the stage for an album that grapples with the eternal tug-of-war between rationality and the undeniable voice of desire. It’s a theme that threads its way through Four, anchoring the record in a contemplative yet defiantly upbeat spirit.
“Be Brave if You Can” and its evocative cousin “Courage” highlight Kappen’s knack for consequence-free storytelling. Here, the artist infuses his love for his wife and the bittersweet prospect of a transatlantic move with a mix of Latin grooves and subtle Western pop. The vivid imagery of eagles unfurling their wings and tightrope walks on the edge of life speaks volumes about the risks inherent in both love and art.
Yet, Four is not solely a journey inward. Tracks like “Break These Chains” act as rallying cries against modern misinformation and the weaponization of language—a timely punk-inflected rock anthem that challenges the listener to dismantle the limitations imposed by society. Meanwhile, nostalgia seeps through “Forever Young” and “In a Gentle Breeze,” where memories and the ache of fleeting time are tenderly rendered through buoyant pop and reflective acoustic points.
Musically, Kappen’s production is as intimate as it is meticulously crafted. Handling every facet of the album himself, he blurs traditional genre boundaries while establishing a sonic signature that is unmistakably his own. The arrangements are dynamic—ranging from the spirited banjo riffs in “I’ll Die for You” to the whimsical introspection of “Chasing Rabbits”—each a vignette that underscores Kappen’s commitment to authenticity and creative exploration.
In Four, Harry Kappen not only cements his legacy as a trailblazer in the Dutch music scene but also as a storyteller unafraid to explore the myriad landscapes of human emotion.
It’s an album that dares to question, to celebrate, and ultimately, to remind us that even in turbulent times, there is beauty in finding balance—between passion and prudence, tradition and reinvention. This is Four: a record where every note is a declaration of defiant hope, a celebration of life’s contradictions, and an invitation to dance with your heart wide open.
