Natalie Layne Drops Centricity Music Debut EP

Soul-inspired pop singer/songwriter, pianist, worship leader and producer Natalie Layne releases her six-song Centricity Music debut EP, Amen. Joy is the common thread woven throughout her introductory recording that speaks to the power of finding the good in moments that don’t necessarily feel good.

Inspired by the simple kindness of a neighbor waving and smiling as they passed in her neighborhood, Layne co-wrote the lead, title track with hit-making songwriters Benji Cowart and David Spencer. “Amen,” as well as the whole album’s sonic direction, is meant to be as welcoming as a friend and as cohesive as that of a seasoned artist, with the messages behind the music stemming from her personal experience.

After growing up in the church, during her teen years, Layne recognized she had to make her faith her own, determining what she believed apart from her parents. This became even more crucial when she began leading worship under the mentorship of respected worship pastors such as Cory Asbury, Jon Egan and Jared Anderson.

She penned the half dozen songs that comprise Amen for that teenage girl in the thick of unraveling her own convictions.

“I want to talk about the power of staying. Sometimes finding the Lord for yourself and choosing to stay can be harder than leaving, but life with Jesus really is better. It’s not perfect, but it’s way better,” Layne shares. “

I want to write songs for the lifelong church kids, but at the same time, I want people who have left or who are far off to hear these songs and be called back home. No matter which end of the spectrum people find themselves on, I want to give them permission to feel like their story matters.”

It’s also Layne’s desire that everyone’s story be marked by the same kind of joy she’s experienced through choosing to follow Jesus. And that’s the overarching banner that consistently encircles her art.

Along with the title track, Amen features Layne’s viral TikTok track “Grateful For” that was written with award-winning songwriters Mitch Wong and Jimmy James. It also includes the live-recorded closing track “Arms of God,” which is the first song she’s ever released that she’s produced solely by herself. This intimate selection is built on piano and filled out with lush strings that allows her impeccable, friendly vocal to shine.

“I’ve just always wanted to make music that brings people joy. I think we need joyful songs to get us through the day sometimes, and God’s given me a lot of permission to go for the happy songs,” Layne says. “If these songs could bring people joy, even in little ways, that would be a win.”

He previewed Fallen through the early release of “Why Me Lord” and “What a Friend We Have in Jesus.” American Songwriter notes Quaid “shows off his rugged vocals” on “Why Me Lord” and “honors the humble nature of the song with his soft delivery” on “What a Friend We Have in Jesus.”

In his PEOPLE cover story, the multi-hyphenate entertainer takes readers inside The Clement House recording studio and his Nashville home, where he opens up about faith, love and second chances. “I’m grateful to still be here, I’m grateful to be alive really every day.

It’s important to really enjoy your ride in life as much as you can, because there’s a lot of challenges and stuff to knock it down,” shares Quaid. The issue is available now on newsstands nationwide.

Fallen was executive produced by Quaid with producers David R. “Fergie” Ferguson, Ben Isaacs and Chris Lindsey. The Isaacs and Jackson Brumley supply background vocals on “I’ll Fly Away,” while The Oak Ridge Boys join Quaid on “Life’s Railway to Heaven.”

During a recent TalkShopLive® appearance at RFD-TV, Quaid chatted with host Bill Cody about each of the tracks. Fans can catch Quaid performing songs from Fallen at the Grand Ole Opry on Thursday.

Originally released on the soundtrack for Quaid’s faith-based film I CAN ONLY IMAGINE, “On My Way to Heaven” was inspired by the global superstar’s public grapple with addiction.

“The sincerity and authenticity displayed in that track would be worth a purchase by itself,” praises Absolutely Gospel. Quaid also vulnerably acknowledges these personal struggles and his subsequent return to Christianity on songs like the title track.

Fallen follows Quaid’s 2018 album, Out of the Box, described by Quaid as a junkyard of American music. Though he loves writing, recording and making movies, music holds a special place in the Texas native’s heart, and for the last four decades, he has toured extensively, displaying equal ease on the piano and acoustic guitar.

Quaid enchants audiences with a set list that ranges from songs such as those included on Fallen to rock ‘n’ roll standards like “Great Balls of Fire!,” an homage to “the Killer,” whom he portrayed in the 1989 box office smash.

Also known for his roles in THE ROOKIE, THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, TRAFFIC, VANTAGE POINT, FREQUENCY, THE PARENT TRAP, SOUL SURFER, THE RIGHT STUFF, BREAKING AWAY and MIDWAY, Quaid’s recent big-screen credits include starring roles in Netflix’s uplifting movie, BLUE MIRACLE, Sony’s thriller THE INTRUDER, Universal’s A DOG’S JOURNEY and A DOG’S PURPOSE and Disney’s animated adventure film STRANGE WORLD.

He also recently completed production portraying the 40th president of the United States in the biopic, REAGAN, slated for release in early 2024.

KB Reveals Hypnotic Latin/Urban Track ‘DANZA’ Feat. Niko Eme & Cardec Drums

Four-time Dove Award-winning hip hop artist KB, has unveiled his second single from his upcoming album His Glory Alone II, titled “Danza”; an upbeat Dominican-style track where he links up with Latin producer and music artist Niko Eme and Puerto Rican drummer, producer and composer Cardec Drums.

“ ‘Danza’ is a feel good song, with some classic Fred Hammond crossover infused throughout,” explains the Southside Rabbi host. “It’s all about encouraging us to have fun in the presence of God.”

To support the song release, KB dropped the official music video that was directed by Karsten Winegeart & Cobe Grandstaff and was shot in the surrounding areas of Tampa. (insert music video here). The song’s style draws inspiration from the vibrant Dominican music genre “Dembow,” known for its lively and collective dancing and celebration.

The intention behind the video was to capture the essence of the song as a gathering of Believers joyfully expressing their devotion to The Lord and to offer a renewed portrayal of the genre, which traditionally depicts a community reveling in their shared experiences through dance and camaraderie.

‘Danza’ is one of 16 tracks on His Glory Alone II, set to release on Sony’s RCAI/Provident Entertainment on August 11. The album features numerous guest artists including Lecrae, Wande, Britt Nicole and more. The author and Billboard Chart-topping artist says this album is his most vulnerable yet.

Acting as the sequel to his previous record released in 2020, and the soundtrack to his latest book Dangerous Jesus: Why the Only Thing More Risky than Getting Jesus Right Is Getting Jesus Wrong, KB collaborated with producers WEARETHEGOOD, Scootie Wop and Cardec Drums to deliver a full length project that expresses the infiniteness of God.

Additionally, KB peels back the layers of his own heart and journey, facing childhood trauma, abandonment, confusion and doubt with unapologetic transparency.

DREAM Label Group is proud to announce their newest signing Xander Sallows to the DREAM Records roster of artists.  This buzz worthy pop artist caught the attention of DREAM’s Lance Brown after he debuted his track with fellow DREAM artist Matthew Parker.

Now, with his own track to release today, Xander partners with artist Zane Walls to co-release their new summertime track “Blues Skies.”  The song was self-produced and co-written by both Sallows and Walls.

“Blue Skies is a song that expresses the desire to see God’s goodness in life despite the difficulties. The chorus rings “I see blue skies, proof of your love is in sight”, expressing that creation and life alone is a testament of God’s goodness. This song has a great reminder for me and I hope it can be for all who listen as well.” – Xander Sallows

“Blue Skies was written to express both the simplicity and complexity of creation and our place in that. All that is around us was created by God. We are not exempt from that. If something so simple to us as the blue sky has value and worth, how much more worth do we have.” – Zane Walls

Michael Portley Jr. & Students Of David Release New Album ‘The Pour’

Gospel artist Michael Portley Jr. & Students of David release their new album The Pour available on all digital service and streaming providers via Cofield Music Group & DREAM Gospel.  Songs from the 8-song album were produced by Aaron Mayfield and Todd Dulaney and written by Michael Portley Jr.

“The album THE POUR represents the sentiments of Heavens clarion call to earth. It mirrors the reflection of  prophetic hope and creative declaration thats believed to voice activate the manifested presence of God.  Musically it expresses currency and relevance in kingdom culture.

Additionally the music carries the heart of victor. The heart of a victor?, What I mean is that while in the thick of covid-19 we all felt victimized on some level as we lost loved ones, gatherings were prohibited which promoted isolation causing mental health concern to erect.

The nations clock rotation was literally put on a forced pause. Only God could’ve brought us out and much of that was through the aide of Gospel music. Through it all our worship takes on a greater level of meaningfulness in relation to having more of a grateful heart.

So our intent as we’ve been delighted to partner with Dream Gospel is to ultimately hearld the message of faith, family, recovery and hope in God. Finally I’d  say that when God activates THE POUR, on us from his spirit we then know that there was always a PURPOSE TO IT ALL.” – Michael Portley Jr.

This beautiful song is a simple ‘honest soul surrender’ and a powerful declaration of our decision to follow Jesus.” – Chloe Evans, Futures
