Lwazi Khuzwayo is a South African Christian/ Gospel Singer, Songwriter, Music Director and a Vocal Coach. He was born in Nkandla, a town In KwaZulu-Natal.
“Jesus I love you” was inspired by 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away and the new has come”. He co-wrote the song with his friend Lindokuhle Moloi. The song was birthed after an intense worship session at Lwazi’s church when his friend Zwe Kunene started playing a chord progression along with a melody. He only saw Zwe after two months and they both were so happy to know that Zwe had not forgotten what he was playing on that day and the rest is history. Lwazi has since released a music video that has been on Top 30 hits tracks on Trace Gospel.
“Jesus I Love You” got nominated for “Best Contemporary Song” at the 2020 SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards. This was a huge honor for Lwazi as this is his only second single.
