Nspyre Music Group International Recording Artist Lisa Bellamy is known in Gospel circles as a consummate vocalist, a gifted interpreter of song and a psalmist who creates an atmosphere of worship. The BET Gospel Diva Search Competition Finalist, who has toured with greats such as the late Edwin Hawkins and Liz McComb, is not only known for her stirring sacred vocals but for her jazz stylings and her classical training.
Lisa, a Duke Ellington School of the Arts graduate, captured the hearts of music fans and radio programmers alike with her track, “Nothin’ But The Spirit,” from the EP, What Will It Take, which featured R&B vocalist Tony Terry and legendary guitarist Jonathan Dubose. More recently, Lisa hit the airwaves – and the charts – again with a new song, “In This House.” Already getting love on dozens of Gospel radio stations nationwide, the song is “straight church” and features Bellamy shining brightly on the traditional track. Now the song has its own riveting concept music video, which is viewable on YouTube.
Filmed at the Dixwell Avenue Congregational United Church of Christ in New Haven, CT, the video showcases the songstress performing the soul-shaking song flanked by background singers. A true song stylist, Lisa weaves her beautiful soprano around the traditional tune, while bringing a contemporary vibe to the uplifting track. “In This House” also includes William Fluker, Bellamy’s husband, a talented musician in his own right, as he provides some nice trumpet work on the song. During “In This House,” which was penned and produced by the artist, her husband and Tim Johnson, Lisa recounts familiar Bible stories reminding listeners of the power that’s found in the house of God.
“During this season, so many are experiencing loss,” Lisa says. “As we were writing ‘In This House,’ I was thinking about all that’s happening in the world today, and the Lord led me to Psalm 122: 1-2 which says, ‘I rejoiced with those who said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the LORD.’ Our feet are standing in your gates, O Jerusalem.’” The song was taken directly from that scripture. We are in a time of pain and the house of the Lord is a place of respite; it’s a place of healing. It’s also a place of deliverance. There are so many gifts that are waiting for people in the house of the Lord.”
An ordained minister, Lisa grew up in the church. Her family’s church roots run deep, and she gave her first musical performance at Macedonia Baptist Church of Arlington, VA, as a young girl. The DMV native recalls her family gathering around the piano, singing gospel songs and hymns in her grandmother’s home. That musical talent was honed at the prestigious institutions of Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, DC, and Shenandoah Conservatory of Music in Winchester, VA. Her classical training led to singing in such operas as LaBoheme at Shenandoah and opened doors to perform in Germany and Switzerland. In addition, her vocal prowess led her to Paris and Leon, France, singing background vocals for Gospel powerhouse Liz McComb.
Lisa released her debut recording, Lighthouse, in 2004. She has made numerous guest appearances on radio stations such as New York City’s WHCR-FM and DC’s WYCB-AM and has been covered in The Belle Report, the Journal of Gospel Music and UGospel. A vocal coach, songwriter, motivational speaker, entrepreneur, educator of youth and adults and recent recipient of a doctorate in Educational Leadership & Management from Capella University, Lisa Bellamy is preparing for the release of her sophomore album in 2022.

“Revival,” a new single from Little Egypt Worship, the worship ministry created by music industry veteran Jermaine Bollinger, is going for adds today to Christian AC-formatted radio outlets. The song also is available to buy/stream on all digital platforms. A video for “Revival,” which Bollinger wrote and produced, is available below. The new worship group — and the new single — are the result of a time of waiting in Bollinger’s life, he says.
“I had just stepped down from my job and concluded my previous ministry,” Bollinger explains. “Among personal issues and tragedies, things were at an all-time low for me. To be honest, the circumstances navigated me to a pretty dark place. I became frustrated with my life, my situation, with God. I found myself asking, ‘What is all of this for?’”
Soon after, Bollinger was diagnosed with nodes on his vocal chords, a situation that meant he had to change his life and lifestyle to be able to continue singing. “I was looking for a change, an awakening, a revival,” Bollinger shares.
It was during this season while trying to refocus that Bollinger wrote a song about change, change in his heart, in his life and, ultimately, change for the world. “It seems like we’ve been spinning our wheels with this pandemic in particular,” Bollinger says, “History will remember this time in textbooks and on the internet. My only hope is that something beautiful can be birthed from this terrible situation the world finds itself in.
“The question that will be asked by our descendants years from now is, ‘How did the church respond?’ I wanted to make sure,” Bollinger says, “I was used by God to do exactly what He wanted me to do, when He wanted me to do it.”
Little Egypt Worship, based in Illinois, is not affiliated with a specific church. The group is available for morning services, church events, youth events and special gatherings for congregations and the community.
The Kenosha, Wisconsin based worship group known as The Spark debuted an immersive video worship session on their YouTube on January 24. The video will be followed by a corresponding live album, available to stream on all major digital platforms on January 28.
The songs captured on Ascent were written in service of The Spark’s home church family— a family that Skillet members John Cooper, Korey Cooper and Jen Ledger are also a part of. They participated in the powerful session that became Ascent.
“We are a people running after God, and some of us happen to be musicians.” The Spark primary writer Chris Marvin explains. “We thought, ‘how can we display a worshipping people? How can we invite people to be drawn into this thing that’s already happening?’”
The result is a Spirit-saturated time of abandon, an authentic outpouring of praise to a glorious God. Ascent includes six original songs as well as four spontaneous moments.
“These songs have really resonated within our local church during our times of worship together,” Chris explains. “We wanted to capture that in an excellent way, with production that is unique but that doesn’t get in the way of the worship time. We wanted to capture something authentic.”
This will be The Spark’s first full album since 2015’s Burning Hearts. In the years since, the band has continued faithfully serving their local church, as well as occasional conferences and events. Chris has also appeared playing guitar for Ledger, Skillet drummer Jen Ledger’s acclaimed side project. Worshiping alongside the local church continues to be The Spark’s greatest priority and joy, committed to genuine, Spirit-filled worship rooted in deep knowledge of the Word.
