[Music] Tears – Cade Thompson
Today, Red Street Records recording artist Cade Thompson releases the final lead-up track to his sophomore album, Empty Room, titled “Tears” alongside a music video.
Sharing the inspiration behind “Tears,” Thompson explains, “Most of my songs start with stories from my life or the people I meet. This song was no different, except that it took on a deeper meaning when I shared it with my mom. She said, ‘Cade I’m not sure if you know this but this song is a big part of my testimony.
When I was a single mom and having a hard day parenting, tears were rolling down my face, and the leader of my bible study could see I was struggling. She prayed for me, and my heart shifted when she said, Dear Lord, do not let her tears be wasted. I realized then that God does not waste anyone’s tears.’ It was almost as if at that moment I knew I had written this song to share a part of my mom’s story.”
Written by Thompson along with Carter Frodge, Tony Wood, and AJ Pruis, the song delivers listeners a comforting message of hope amidst pain as it sings, “Let this be your comfort / Let this be your hope / He’s got plans to use the hurt / In ways that you don’t know.”
Red Street Records Chief Operating Officer, Kelly Rich, shares, “Cade is such a gifted songwriter, and this song is such a powerful ode to his heart and the purpose behind his music. We couldn’t be more excited for listeners to hear ‘Tears’ and gear up for the remaining tracks of Cade’s new album.”
As a young rising artist, Cade Thompson has been able to share his music, including two top 25 Christian radio singles and today’s “Tears,” with fans around the country as an opening act for the GRAMMY-winning Christian rock band Newsboys. Thompson can be seen throughout the summer at additional tour dates and major music festivals.
