Andrew Ripp Drops Newest Track “On The Inside” Influenced By Death Row Inmate
Soulful singer-songwriter Andrew Ripp releases new music with the song “On The Inside.”
My friend Nathan Lee asked me to come in and sing for some of the inmates on death row. That’s where I met a man named Terry who has been on death row for over 30 years and though he will never have his freedom here on earth he has found the forever kind…the divine stuff that nobody can take and doesn’t need perfection to root, just surrender…he’s found freedom on the inside.
I was blown away by the love I saw in his eyes. I went in to play songs and maybe leave some hope but Terry is the one who was passing out hope that day. It was such a profound experience that I decided to try and capture it in a song. -Andrew Ripp
