Tribl Records, the new premiere recording home for Christian and Gospel music artists, announces the release of the premiere South Asian Worship artist, Maryanne “MJ” George. Affectionally, known as MJ, she will release her debut solo album, Not Just Stories, on her birthday, Friday, October 8^th.

As a member of the multi-platinum selling, Maverick City Music, the album Not Just Stories features Maverick City Music members Dante Bowe, Aaron Moses and Naomi Raine. The EP, Not Just Stories is Maryanne “MJ” George’s very first EP release and the first solo release from a member of Maverick City Music. It captures the essence of MJ’s faith walk, featuring a collection of deep-felt worship, uplifting praise songs and extended/spontaneous worship. The opening track, “Journey” is an artistic emotional and transparent heartfelt song that was birthed out MJ’s initial fear of being a songwriter. Inspired by the story of Abraham and Isaac, “I’m Gonna Worship” with Dante Bowe, is a simple song of victorious praise.

The expecting mother-to-be shares, “This album is sacred – it’s my gift to the Lord. Every song holds a tangible expression of a moment I’ve had with the Lord. I took a chance and went full-time with songwriting and artistry a few years ago. It was difficult for me, but this album became one of remembrance and grounding.”

Native of Queens, NY, currently residing in St. Louis, Mo, MJ grew up in a musical family and Christian home where music was the center of many family gatherings. She started by singing covers on Instagram, which started the development of a faithful fan following. In 2018 while attending Bethel Worship School, MJ sang at a school showcase and became discovered by Bethel Worship label executives in the audience; this discovery led to an invite to attend the songwriters camp that birthed Maverick City Music.

“Within 5 minutes we had the bridge for the song, ‘Not Just Stories.’ I had a real encounter with God during the writing process and was so overwhelmed by the reality of heaven and the reality of Jesus. He is not just a story,” shares Dante Bowe.

The song and video created to pay tribute to hip-hop’s icons had delayed the release of the entire album!

TBA (To Be Announced) is a joint mixtape by international winning artist Paul Payne837 and EDM producer Dmstry. The mixtape title was inspired by the 4 years it took the duo to finally put in the work for a collaborative project. 

The mixtape is a crossover of many genres for Dmstry, who produced/mixed and mastered the entire project. Afro-pop, dancehall, cinematic hip-hop fusion and deep house are part of the genres that made it to TBA. The mixtape was being marketed with singles that were dropping every month from January to August with Paul Payne837 taking care of all the branding of art covers and visualizers. The mixtape features Dervin Cannon, Chrispin Mbewe,Molly,Habibah and Ugandan rapper/producer Waade.

TBA starts off with some hip-hop and cinematic fusion from the first song “we coming” with song number two “raw” wrapping it up with the fusion. “Give us” takes it to the afro-dancehall part of the tape with  “kontolo” being the last original version with the afro sound. The “kontolo” and “give us” remixes introduce the tape to a different sound/ market with an East African feature. “choolwe and penyani” wraps the tape up with a melodic trap feel where the duo shares their stories building up to TBA.

Integrity Music’s and Running Club Records’ Citizens has reimagined their GMA Dove nominated album, The Joy of Being, as a live recorded album with today’s release, The Joy of Being Together. The new album features the original tracks as well as six additional tracks from previously released songs recorded live. Celebrating a decade together, Citizens recorded the album in a church near the University of Washington. “Ten years ago we all met in Seattle in an old church building near the University of Washington,” recalls Zach Bolen frontman for Citizens. “Now a decade later we’re back in that same place to film and record The Joy of Being Together. A lot has happened since we first met there, namely Citizens forming, but even bigger has been the gift of lifelong friendship. This project is a celebration of being loved by God and being loved by one another. The Joy of Being Together is about living-fully alive in the body of Christ; being known by one another and receiving the benefits and challenges of vulnerability in stride. The pandemic created a physical barrier that made for a lot of time apart so, in a practical sense, this record really is a lot about coming together again to do something we love.”

The original studio recording, The Joy of Being, captured the band’s thoughts about peeling back all the distractions to find our truest and most important affirmation in the joy of being loved by God. And now as more and more are getting back together after a long time separated, they want to share these songs in a new environment capturing the joy of being together.

Powerhouse vocalist, songwriter, and “The Voice” season 9 winner Jordan Smith announces today’s release of Be Still & Know (Provident Label Group/Reunion Records). As the top-selling artist ever to emerge from “The Voice,” this is Smith’s first project with the label since signing with them in 2020. His debut album, 2016’s Something Beautiful, entered the Billboard 200 at No. 2 and has since released two additional albums prior to Be Still & Know.

The new EP’s first track, “Battles,” dropped last month accompanied by a live performance video and offers the message of confidence, one of the key themes running throughout the seven-song project. Smith shares, “It’s at the heart of the song – not in who we are or what we can do – but in the faithfulness and power that God has shown throughout each of our stories.” Other performance videos to release are “Great You Are,” “Don’t Quit,” and “So Many Reasons,” while the EP’s title track can be viewed below. Switch announced the release of its new EP Better View, Part I(Sony Music/Provident’s Essential Worship). The six-song EP has a mix of fun tracks and more reflective tracks, both of which will help listeners get a clearer picture of who God is and how much He loves them.

Seven-time GRAMMY Award winner Carrie Underwood released My Gift (Special Edition) on CD/digital today (September 24th), and will release on vinyl November 5th, featuring three additional tracks.  Initially released September 25, 2020, Underwood’s first-ever Christmas album, My Gift, debuted #1 across multiple global charts, including Billboard’s Country, Christian and Holiday album charts.  The album remained at #1 on the Christian album chart 11 weeks after it was released and debuted #1 on the UK and Canadian Country album charts. It consistently remained in the Top 5 on the Billboard Holiday album chart throughout the 2020 holiday season, hitting #5 on the all-genre Billboard Top 200.
