But in the midst of life’s trials, I have experienced the goodness of God more times than I can count. Though I know the road of life will not be without challenges, I have seen God’s heart too many times to let go of the fact that He is good, that He loves us and that He’ll never leave us.” – Jordan Janzen, lead singer of The Color

Download Mp3 : Stranger – The Color

The Color’s new single, “Stranger” (DREAM Records) releases today to all digital retail providers today.  Their new single is bound to draw attention. “Stranger” is available now to download or stream.

Written with Bede Benjamin-Korporaal and Jessie Early, and produced by Bede Benjamin-Korporaal (Hillsong Young & Free, Passion, Chris McClarney), “Stranger” is nothing short of a musical journey that showcases a wide array of instrumentation and vocal range.  The song marks the band’s fifth release off their highly anticipated upcoming album, No Greater Love releasing October 22nd.

Frontman Jordan Janzen shares some insight into the songwriting process. “This song was a blast to both write and record. When we wrote it, we envisioned it being led on a piano. We were aiming for a classic, ‘movie soundtrack’ vibe, almost like a ‘James Bond’ theme song or ‘Lauren Daigle’s ‘Still Rolling Stones’. But once Bede took all of the pieces and started building up the production, it took on a life of its own. I think there are well over 200 tracks recorded on this tune. It was complete madness in the studio. I love it! I think it’s got swagger.”

The song reflects on experiencing God’s love, but falling prey to the human condition and losing sight of what we had. Thankfully, God’s love doesn’t waver with our inconsistency. It is steadfast and gracious and that shouldn’t surprise us because, having experienced it before, we are not a stranger to it.

[Music] No Greater Love – The Color

The Color releases new song and video for “No Greater Love” (DREAM Records) to all digital retailers.

The song is the epitome of a summertime bop. The song marks the band’s fourth release off of their much anticipated upcoming album (October 2021) and it reveals a fun and energetic vibe that carries a little bit of 80s nostalgia.  As part of the release, the group releases the music video which was directed by Andrew Bergen and produced by Tyler Friesen from The Film Collective.

Frontman Jordan Janzen shares a bit about the writing process. “The chorus melody came to me after a morning run. I was standing in my kitchen, making breakfast, and suddenly it was right there, in my head. I was so stoked about it that I laid it down in my voice memos and sent it off to the guys, immediately. Realistically, 95% of the time when I bring a melody to the table, it will get tweaked and improved in the session. But this was a rare situation where the melody you hear in the final version is the same as the initial idea. It just felt right. Once we had that, the rest took shape quickly.”

Produced by Bede Benjamin-Korporaal, the infectious vibe and uplifting nature of “No Greater Love” will make your feet tap and your hips sway. The song is a celebration of the love that God has for us, regardless of our imperfections or the mistakes we’ve made. It reflects on the reality that He knows the finest details of our lives, the good, the bad and the ugly, and celebrates the truth that He loves us like no other, despite our shortcomings. There’s no greater love!

Written with Bede Benjamin-Korporaal and Carter Frodge, and produced by Bede Benjamin-Korporaal (Hillsong Young & Free, Passion, Chris McClarney) “No Greater Love” follows the success of their most recent single “Better Way” and their previous singles “Surprise” and “The Kind Of Man” (Surprise at #27 & The Kind Of Man at #42at Audience Airplay).

[Music] Better Way – The Color

The Color is proud to announce the release of their new single, “Better Way.”  This multitrack release, which comes with a worship version, was written with Lauren Hungate and Jonathan Gamble, produced by Jeff Owen (Tenth Avenue North) and co-produced by Bede Benjamin-Korporaal, ‘Better Way’ follows the success of their most recent single ‘Call Of The Wild’ and their previous singles ‘Surprise’ and ‘The Kind Of Man’ (Surprise at #27 & The Kind Of Man #42 at Audience Airplay).

The Color’s new single, ‘Better Way’ (DREAM Records), reveals a fresh side of the band that encompasses both depth and maturity. The song wrestles with the reality of our small human perspective. We want to know why something is happening. We desire control and clarity when facing uncertain times. ‘Better Way’ reminds us that, though we only see a small part of the picture, God sees it all. We can walk in faith trusting that, though it may not unfold as we hoped or expected, He is leading us a Better Way.

“When we wrote Better Way the entire touring industry had shut down and I had essentially lost my job.” Frontman, Jordan Janzen shares. “It had been almost 6 months and I still didn’t have any clarity and I still didn’t have any control. There were some really hard days where hope was hard to find. I needed this song. I needed a reminder that I see such a small part of the picture.”

“Psalm 139:16 says “… Every day of your life was recorded in [God’s] book. Every moment was laid out…””

[Music Video] Call Of The Wild – The Color

The Color is pleased to announce the release of their new multitrack single titled, “Call Of The Wild” (DREAM Records).  Produced by Carter Frodge (Joel Vaughn, Tenth Avenue North), their new song speaks of the incredible nature of God and reminds us to peel ourselves away from distraction, and live in awe and wonder of Him.  This marks the group’s second release of 2021. How this song came to fully exist, speaks to the overall theme of the past year and a half.

“We recorded this song on March 16, 2020, which is my birthday,” explains band member, James Shiels. “We had flown Carter and his wife up to our hometown, up in Canada, to record the single and it was right at that time that the world was shutting down, due to Covid-19. The next day, right after they had flown home, the border between the USA and Canada was shut down. It was a wild time. A year later, on March 16, 2021 (once again falling on my birthday) we were finally able to make the music video for Call Of The Wild.”

The song also features a remix by Neon Feather and a music video that was directed and produced by The Film Collective.

“Call Of The Wild” is available now to download or stream.
