[Music] My Confidence – Local Sound

Local Sound introduce their second post-EP single called ‘My Confidence.’ As they gear up towards a new project releasing this summer, the Nashville-based band and house church movement keep teasing us with songs that capture the essence of their community’s deep love of Jesus and each other.

‘My Confidence’ is a response when fear and anxiety come knocking at our door, such as when covid broke out and many experienced these disturbing emotions, including some of Local Sound’s band members. This new song emerged to encourage and teach from the inside out, pushing listeners into the arms of God, a safe place where confidence can be found when all else fails.

Singer Alexis Butcher points out that, “in order to place Christ as our confidence and foundation, [we] have to surrender everything into His hands and trust that He is good.” ‘My Confidence’ features a beautiful slow pop soundscape and is as catchy as it is profoundly hopeful. With their new single, Local Sound nudge us to embrace the beauty available in surrender.

[EP] To The King – Local Sound

‘To The King’ came together as an expression of the heart of Local Sound’s home church movement, MyLocal. Sitting together in each other’s houses week by week, studying scripture and sharing life together, sparked inspiration to write worshipful responses to God’s faithfulness from everyone’s stories.

Local Sound’s music is saturated with the nearness of their community, instilling a sense of belonging into the family of God through each song. ‘To The King’ features intimate prayers that have had the time to be nurtured into songs over the turbulence of the last two years.

Each song on ‘To The King’ – from the funk-infused title track to the slower worship on ‘On Christ’ – has a different feeling and a unique response as a representation of the countless ways that Local Sound see God in their lives as a band and as a church. The new project from the Nashville-based collective is a call to go beyond listening and to participate in the act of worship. Local Sound’s hope is to bring listeners closer to Jesus through these tunes.

Download Mp3: Time And Time Again – Local Sound

Local Sound release a second single after their comeback with energetic song ‘More Than Halfway’ last month. They introduce ‘Time And Time Again,’ a worshipful response to the faithfulness of God.

This new song boasts an expansive melody and lyrics declaring truth and trust in our Father, reflecting the context of its creation as fear and challenges raged in the world. but Local Sound couldn’t help but see the ways God was continuing to show how He keeps His promise; the promise that He will be with us come hell or high water.

‘Time And Time Again’ resounds with endless gratitude for the kindness and nearness of God as well as reverence for the Lord’s steadfast goodness. Local Sound built a journey into this song, taking us from safety in the refuge of God’s presence to boldness and faith as the bridge declares words from Isaiah 61 and Psalm 139. Acknowledging God’s supreme authority and intimate faithfulness, ‘Time And Time Again’ makes space for reflection and new depths of worship from that place.

Singer Emmi Wyant concludes with an encouragement: “My prayer is that this song reminds people that the pressure is off for them to figure everything out. God is the ultimate power, and He is for us. When we lean into him, we find our peace, purpose, and genuine joy.”

The two new singles express how Local Sound have been thriving; expanding from a trio to six members, the Nashville-based band have been writing incredible songs geared specifically for use within the local church!
