The 2022 BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Juneteenth UNITYFEST concert, co-presented by the Robert Randolph Foundation (@therrfound) was held in Brooklyn, NY.

A national multi-cultural experience united diverse voices and communities, in commemoration and celebration of Juneteenth and Black culture, featured performances from multi-award winning gospel artist, Tye Tribbett (@tyetribbett), legendary vocalist, Deborah Cox (@deborahcox), Grammy-award winning gospel singer, Israel Houghton (@israelhougton), inspirational R&B singer, Mali Music (@malimusic), and six-time Grammy-nominated steel pedal-guitarist,Robert Randolph (@robertrandolph).

The event was hosted by actor and comedian Barry Brewer (@barrybrewerjr) and made possible by a phenomenal list of sponsors and partners, including Heal America, Levitt Foundation, and LiveOne as the official streaming partner.

The Festival season will continue this Friday, June 24 with Latin Grammy-winning  artist  Fonseca (@fonescamusic), and neo-traditionalist ensemble, La Cumbiamba eNeYé (@lacumbiambany).

Maverick City Music celebrates Black History Month 2022 with the release of the Breathe EP. 

The celebratory EP features the signature vocals of beloved Maverick City Music artist Joe L Barnes, Maryanne J. George, Naomi Raine, Chandler Moore and Dante Bowe backed by the Mav City Gospel Choir.

The Breathe EP features live and studio versions of standout songs lifted from 2021’s Jubilee: Juneteenth album, including “Breathe,” “Joy of the Lord,” and “Make it Right,” plus three all-new original recordings. Israel Houghton, Jonathan McReynolds, Ahjah Walls, DOE and Todd Dulaney.

TRIBL releases a live video for “Freedom Looks Good On You” featuring Israel Houghton, Bri Babineaux and Maverick City Music.

“Freedom Looks Good On You” was written by Houghton, Chandler Moore, Pat Barret and Ryan Ofei. The track was featured on Maverick City Music’s Jubilee: Juneteenth Edition which released earlier this year (June 18).

Nearly a year after beginning his #WorshipWednesdays livestream services for stay-at-home worship services, gospel singer-songwriter and worship leader Israel Houghton is announcing pre-orders and sharing the first single, “Hymn of Breakthrough,” from a new live album Feels Like Home: The Quarantine Worship Experience.  

The album, which will be released February 26^th, is derived from Israel & New Breed’s hugely successful live event of the same name last year which breathed electricity into the intimate #WorshipWednesdays setup for a three hour concert / worship experience.

Tim Godfrey, who has actually had an upbeat year in the music sphere: ferreting out the best off his signings and his multiple appearances in albums and concerts.

However he has evidently not dwindled in rising the bar, even for himself.
