Capitol Christian Music Group (CCMG) is celebrating 14 nominations for the 2021 Billboard Music Awards (BBMA), encompassing nods across all divisions of the company, including Capitol Christian Label Group, Motown Gospel, Publishing and Commercial Partnerships. BBMA finalists are determined based on key fan interactions with music, including album and digital song sales, streaming, radio airplay and social engagement, as tracked by Billboard, the go-to chart guide for music since 1940. This year’s finalists are based on the chart period between March 21, 2020 and April 3, 2021. Hosted by Nick Jonas, the 2021 Billboard Music Awards will air live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, May 23 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on NBC.

GRAMMY nominated and Billboard #1 worship groups Elevation Worship and Maverick City dropped their highly anticipated collaborative live album Old Church Basement today on all streaming platforms. The album, featuring the successful singles “Jireh,” “Talking To Jesus,” and “Wait On You,” is a powerful collection of songs that aims to bring listeners back to a pure place of worship. Old Church Basement is a 13-track album that features vocals from Chris Brown, Chandler Moore, Brandon Lake, Naomi Raine, Dante Bowe, Tiffany Hudson, Joe L Barnes, and Amanda Lindsey Cook.

“Before any lights and a stage, for a lot of us it was just a few chords on an acoustic guitar or piano in a youth room with a few of our friends. This collection of songs is so special to us as it’s reminiscent of when we first fell in love with worshipping God,” says Chris Brown from Elevation Worship.

GRAMMY nominated and Billboard #1 worship groups Elevation Worship and Maverick City released their newest single, “Wait On You” today on all streaming platforms. “Wait On You” is the follow-up to the successful first single “Jireh,” and will be on the upcoming collaborative album Old Church Basement.

“Wait On You” was co-written by Steven Furtick, Chandler Moore, Dante Bowe, Chris Brown, Tiffany Hudson, and Brandon Lake.

“Wait On You” is a collaborative track co-written by Steven Furtick, Chandler Moore, Dante Bowe, Chris Brown, Tiffany Hudson, and Brandon Lake (members of both Maverick City & Elevation Worship). The theme draws upon inspiration from The Bible, specifically Isaiah 40: “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary, and they shall walk, and not faint.”  

“This song takes me on a journey through what I really believe about God. Waiting on something God’s promised to me challenges how good and all-knowing I believe Him to be,” says Maverick City Music’s Chandler Moore. “We pray that this song reminds you that God will always strengthen those who wait on Him.”

“Over the past year, the Mav crew has become more like family to us,” says Chris Brown from Elevation Worship. “The times we’ve spent writing and worshipping together have been very special and felt equally important to what God was doing in both of our ministries.” Out of one of their first songwriting sessions came the song “Jireh”, a powerful ballad that Elevation Worship has been singing in their church services for several months. “It was the first song Pastor Steven and I wrote with Chandler Moore and Naomi Raine and it’s the song that kickstarted the idea for the entire project, Old Church Basement”, says Brown.
