Syntax Creative Partners With Ginny Owens’ ChickPower Music
Syntax Creative has partnered with ChickPower Music, the thoughtful, faith-rooted independent record label owned by singer-songwriter, author and speaker Ginny Owens.
Founded in 2005, ChickPower Music is home to an extensive catalog from Owens, including worship recordings, acoustic releases, Christmas music, collaborations and songs that have helped define her independent creative work.
“Ginny Owens has the kind of catalog that reminds you songs do not need to be loud to last,” said Timothy Trudeau, CEO of Syntax Creative. “She has spent her career doing the hard thing well: writing music with actual weight to it. ChickPower Music is not just a place where those songs live. It is a label with history, purpose and a catalog worth carrying well.”
The first new release under the partnership is “Greater Is The Cross,” a single from Ginny Owens featuring Josh Bissell & The Church Will Sing, releasing Friday, June 12.
Written by Owens, Tony Wood and Sam Hart, and produced by Kyle Schonewill, “Greater Is The Cross” is a modern hymn that speaks to human regret without getting stuck there. The song moves through confession into release with honesty, framing mercy as a force that breaks the grip of shame.
“ChickPower Music has always been about releasing heartfelt and thoughtful music,” Owens said. “The digital marketplace gives us a way to connect with people all over the world, and Syntax understands both the creativity and the work it takes to do that well.”
Owens has spent nearly three decades making music rooted in faith, honesty and craft. Since releasing her bestselling debut album, Without Condition, she has recorded 11 critically acclaimed albums, five EPs and two Christmas projects, with defining songs including “Remember Me,” “Beautiful Saviour” and “If You Want Me To.” Her recordings have amassed millions of streams worldwide.
Owens is a three-time Dove Award winner, including New Artist of the Year in 2000, and a two-time ASCAP Award winner. Her songs have appeared across network television and film, and her music has taken her to the White House, Sundance Film Festival, Lilith Fair and the National Day of Prayer in Washington, D.C.
