Joel Caws Shares “Delight”

Joel Caws, a worship leader and singer/songwriter from the UK has just released a brand new working song called ‘Delight’.

Joel has been releasing music for over 3 years and this latest release is an exploration of what it means to delight ourselves in God.

Of the new song release, Joel says “This song has literally been such a ‘delight’ to work on. I love the vibe that my producer came up with for this song which I think fits perfectly with the theme of the song. It is so great to get this song out there finally!”

Of the process behind creating the song, Joel comments “I had been thinking about what it means to delight in God, and was playing around with some different rhythms and melodies. I then hit upon a chorus hook which instantly resonated with me.

The final version also features quite a different bridge than I originally wrote but I love the final version of it as it brings in a real contrasting element to the song, whilst still keeping the main theme of our delighting in God.”

Of how he hopes others will engage with the song, Joel says “The definition of ‘Delight’ is to take great pleasure or joy in something or someone. When we think about everything God has done for us and how much He loves us, our natural reaction is to be filled with joy and thankfulness. I pray that everyone who listens to this song will find their own expression of delight in God as they listen and sing along.”

Alex Henry Foster Shares “Nocturnal Candescence” Single

Today, Alex Henry Foster shares the second single “Nocturnal Candescence,” off of upcoming LP Kimiyo, out April 26.

“The song conveys the profound emotions of loss, hopelessness, and personal surrender in the context of self-abandonment. It’s an inner scream designed to reach others when we feel invisible to a world that never stops spinning for anyone’s pain to be seen, to be shared.

It’s the resilience of being, of believing in another morning shine. It’s the reminiscence of traditional Japanese songs of longing, “哀傷歌 (aishōka)”, defined by mourning, contemplation, and faith in better tomorrows.”

kimiyo

Foreseen as a story within a story, Kimiyo bloomed into a multi-layered entity, the album is inspired by the testimonies of the people Foster met in Japan back in 2010. Kimiyo’s main narrative focuses on the journey of a young person who wrote to Foster years after their encounter to share pieces of her journey about how she found a new sense of self after thinking of taking her life upon becoming unwillingly pregnant, but unable to fathom the idea of ending her life or her pregnancy.

She became hateful towards the burgeoning existence slowly taking over her body, but found a fulfilling form of hope for her present and future self emerging from feeling the baby starting to move inside of her body.

She then envisioned a life of her own, a purpose she had never imagined being able to find anywhere – especially not within herself – but lost the child following a miscarriage, leaving her empty again, but somehow transformed.

She had learned that happiness is a measure of the heart and soul, accepting that purpose is something that grows from within, but, as Foster exposed it, while the tree might too often hide the beautiful density of a forest, there are lights that are simply way too bright to be hidden.

Alex Henry Foster’s new project Voyage à la Mer is an artistic multidisciplinary endeavor based on the asymmetry of human emotions. While the project refers to the title of a self-searching poetry and meditative notebook he started writing during a trip to Japan back in 2010.

It also symbolizes the fundamental connection that individuals and communities nurture with water, the beginning of time, ritualistic pilgrimages, redemptive processions, purification, the incarnation related to the flow of life, birth and death, the passage to afterlife, transition, and rebirth.

Foster underwent a life-altering cardiac surgery. He spent months recovering, unable to talk, and unsure he would have the ability to sing in the future. Foster writes: “I was in no other position than to either feel sorry for myself or have a prolonged look with myself to figure out who I was beyond the distressing sensation of losing my identity.

The introspective clarity brought me right back to Japan, in what had been for me a transformative experience almost 15 years ago, highlighted by the long-forgotten fragments of film, photographs, and people’s testimonies I had the privilege of witnessing.”

Slowly starting to regain energy, Foster contacted his friend and longtime creative accomplice Ben Lemelin to assist him in writing and creating. With Foster still regaining his voice, the duo invited fellow artist Momoka to be the voice of the first incarnation of the project, titled Kimiyo.

Alex Henry Foster has crafted four different creative entities; the albums Kimiyo and A Measure of Space and Sounds, the film Voyage à la Mer, and the in-public conversations & live musical improvisation affair Of Flashes and Other Currents, all due to be released over the span of 2024.

A Special Release Of Brooke Ligertwood’s “Bless God” Live From Passion 2024 Is Out Now

A special release of Bless God drops today from GRAMMY-Award-winning songwriter, producer, and worship leader Brooke Ligertwood. The song, which originally appeared as the first track on her latest album, EIGHT, (Capitol CMG, Oct. 2023), is now offered with four additional renditions, including the focus track, “Bless God (Live From Passion 2024).” The version, which also features Passion, Brandon Lake, and Cody Carnes, is accompanied by a live video, viewable below.

“Bless God” is a warmly invitational, yet declarative and anthemic song. Whilst each song on EIGHTsits in its own lane, if the lane “Bless God” sits in was adorned with garland and sign, it would say “This is for the Church.’”

“The power of worship as a habit and a habitual posture cannot be understated,” Ligertwood elaborates further. “When life and circumstances twist us into all manner of positions, decisively aligning our gaze and confession with the truth of Christ and deliberately bringing Him thanks and praise is not only vital but an entrance to the joy of the Lord.

In the field of plenty, the dark valley, when empty-handed, whether victorious or unraveling, blessing God is possible and powerful! The song ‘Bless God’ exists to serve and accompany our pilgrimage through all these seasons and situations.”

In her long-standing career and with her passion for art and theology, Brooke Ligertwood has served the church globally through her long-established tenure of writing congregational anthems, while also maintaining a mainstream career of over two decades under her maiden name, Brooke Fraser.

A prolific songwriter, she has penned a growing anthology of beloved church anthems like “What A Beautiful Name,” “King of Kings,” “A Thousand Hallelujahs” and “Hosanna,” and devotional favorites like “New Wine,” “None But Jesus” and many more.

Her songs have been streamed globally more than 1.5B times, translated into over 15 languages, and have topped charts with two No.1 songs and several top 25’s that have been sung around the world like “What A Beautiful Name,” “Who You Say I Am,” “King of Kings,” “Hosanna” and more. With her songwriting, she has been honored with a GRAMMY Award, one RIAA Platinum-certified single, and two RIAA Gold-certified singles.

[Music] You Are Faithful – Alabaster Grace

Husband and wife duo Alabaster Grace has released their new single, “You Are Faithful,” from Westar Media Group.

Brad Perry, a highly decorated former NASA rocket scientist, and his wife, Joanie Perry, a dedicated educator, are known professionally as Alabaster Grace.

“Alabaster Grace’s new single has a powerful message with a powerful beat. It is inspirational and a song everyone can relate to,” says Kathryn Livingston, director of client services for Westar Media Group. “Joanie and Brad have a unique sound that adapts to all different genres and beats.”

For the follow-up to their most recent single, “Traveling On,” the couple once again called on multiple Dove Award-winning producer Chris Bevins (producer and keyboards for Selah, Salvador, Jaci Velasquez, and Christine D’Clario).

youarefaithful

“Alabaster Grace is walking into this new season with a bold embrace of God’s promises,” says Bevins. “He is with us and He is faithful! Joanie and Brad are singing and playing a new song of truth and of a secure faith, that we have victory in our lives thanks to the goodness of God. Turn it up, and join them as they thank Him for His promises and worship Him for His kindness and love!”

Joanie, Alabaster Grace’s primary songwriter, penned the song’s lyrics and melody, while Brad wrote the guitar parts, the bridge, and additional instrumental motifs. Together, Joanie and Brad further developed the song and crafted the arrangement along with Bevins.

The song is based on 2 Timothy 2:11-13 (ESV): The saying is trustworthy, for If we have died with him, we will also live with him; if we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us; if we are faithless, he remains faithful—for he cannot deny himself.

“You Are Faithful,” which has a driving military-style theme and features the percussive beat of the drums throughout the song, was birthed during a time of prayer and supplication when Brad and Joanie were going through personal difficulties.

“From the beginning, we had a sense of knowing that God is faithful,” Brad remembers. “Throughout our lives, we, like everyone, had experienced times of struggle, and even battles. However, we knew that because of who we are in Christ, the war had already been won.”

“This song flows with a sense of God’s faithfulness,” says Joanie. “The lyrics point to our faith and trust in God even when we face trials and tribulations. We are to seek the protection of God by wearing His armor in spiritual warfare.”

Alabaster Grace’s new single, “You Are Faithful,” can be streamed on Spotify or YouTube.

The new single follows on the heels of Brad’s recent appointment as associate pastor of Historic White Marsh Church, an independent Bible-believing and teaching church in Lancaster, Virginia.

“Joanie and I are excited to focus our desire to serve God and reach people for Christ on a more personal level at Historic White Marsh Church,” says Brad, an ordained pastor.

“Rev. Wes Hall had been praying for more ministry support and he was pleased with this answer to prayer, along with the enthusiastic church board’s recognition of God’s leading,” says Mrs. Brenda Hall.

Nate Parrish Keeps The Punk Rock Pipeline Flowing With “I’m Alright”

Nate Parrish is keeping the punk rock tracks coming with “I’m Alright,” the follow-up to recently released “Bad Excuse.” “I’m Alright” will be available on April 26 in partnership with Fair Vaux records.

“I’m Alright” was produced by Josiah Prince (Disciple), mixed by Darren King (Project 86) and mastered by Sam Moses (Haste the Day). As usual, Parrish handled most of the instrumentation himself, keeping his fingerprints on every inch of the track.

“‘I’m Alright’ is that song you wish you could sing to the person you wrote it for,” Nate Parrish explains. “It’s a letter to someone you lost letting them know you’re OK, that life has been hard but full of so many blessings. I wrote this song as if I was sitting in front of that person, filling them in on what’s been going on in my life since we last saw each other, letting them know I’m alright.”

The track is the second cut from an upcoming full-length album, Parrish’s third. He said, “This song fits into the larger theme of the album, which is centered around mountains. Some mountains we move, some we don’t, and sometimes? You need to become the mountain.”

imalright

The song is slightly gentler emotionally than its predecessor “Bad Excuse,” which came out swinging with its truth-to-power posture. Fans have rallied around the song as monument to the experiences they’re having with those in power.

“I’m Alright” and “Bad Excuse” have both called on a broader team than Parrish’s first two album outings, including a partnership with the boutique label Fair Vaux Records and distribution through Steadfast Records. The collaboration has been liberating.

“Working with Fair Vaux has been a huge blessing! Having another person on the team has really freed me up to focus on the creative side a bit more,” Parrish says. “It’s always nice having someone who understands what you’re about and is willing to help you along the way.”

Nate Parrish will be continuing to release music forged by his new creative alliances all year. Hot off of serving as support for Disciple in California, he’ll also be playing more concerts. “I’m Alright” will be available on April 26.

As an experienced guitarist with a history playing for rock worship bands Worth Dying For and Kutless, Nate has continually offered a unique blend of musical exploration and thoughtful, spiritually sensitive lyrics that prod at our culture in the interest of drawing us a little closer to Christ.
