I wasn’t questioning God’s presence or His love, but I was simply asking, ‘How could this happen?’”

“Because of my aunt’s ability to see God’s goodness through the storm, I believe the lyrics of ‘Jesus Will’ are words she would have shared with somebody hurting,” he says of the song’s inspiration. “I want this track to offer truth, hope, promise, and comfort for those who might be contemplating turning away from God.”

Both David Leonard and Mitch Wong respectively received a nomination for their contribution to the Song of the Year.
