Ok, so we’ve all heard this one a thousand times, but that’s because IT’S SO GOOD! @mariahcarey’s voice is basically the opposite of mine, so it was a fun challenge trying to figure how to do a quiet and comforting version that was more about the words and less about vocal gymnastics (‘cause I sure can’t do that fancy stuff!).
To be honest, I really wasn’t sure if we could pull it off, but now that it’s done, it feels like there’s magical Christmas fairy dust all over this one and I’m so happy you get to hear it today. All I Want for Christmas is You is actually a very sweet, tender song when you slow it down and listen to the lyrics. It makes me think of all the people I love.
