[Music] Leaning – Matt Maher

The multi-award-winning artist and songwriter Matt Maher releases his new single “Leaning” featuring Lizzie Morgan. Now available on all digital platforms, “Leaning” is accompanied by a live performance video that can be viewed here and below.

An honest yet poignant look at life’s toughest seasons and how Jesus tells us that we’re not alone, the powerful song’s chorus shares: “What a fellowship, what a joy divine what a priceless gift / God I’m yours and You are mine, Let my restless soul be still and know I am leaning on your everlasting arms.”Maher, who penned the song with Lizzie Morgan, Jacob Sooter, and Brian Elmquist, shares, “There are times in life where on either side of a difficult season you’re either asking, ‘How am I going to get through this?’ or, you’re on the other side looking back in amazement saying, ‘How did I get through this?’ That’s where I find that the most sincere, real, authentic prayers get prayed.”

He continues, “You’re praying out of desperation or gratitude and you find out what your support structure looks like – friends, family, loved ones who come around you hold you up. They become real signposts for the face of Jesus. But what about those who have no one? What does Jesus have to say to them? He says, ‘I no longer call you strangers, I call you friends. This is what I find so compelling about the friendship of God and the message of Christianity. Life is not a stacked tower of personal achievement, pride, egos, success, or vanity…it’s extending to others what Jesus says in the scriptures. ‘In this world, you will have trouble. But you are not alone. You can put your weight on me.’”

“Leaning,” which is the first of many new songs to be released from Maher this year, will be heard live along with many of his previous hits while he’s on the road throughout 2022. With plans to tour Europe with Rend Collective followed by appearing at numerous summer and fall festivals, more tour dates continue to be added, so be sure to visit his tour page for the latest information.

[Music] All In Your Hands – Marvin Sapp

Marvin Sapp is an artist of vast repertoire and style, and he is a singer with an undeniable musical signature. There is a certain way that Sapp punctuates songs with unbridled, deeply felt emotion that beckons from a place of someone who knows what they are singing about. It is the place where tested faith resides – a place where most people have been, are or will be going. Demonstrating through song that there is victory in that faith-tested place is Marvin Sapp’s signature, and it shows up in stunning fashion on his new single “All In Your Hands,” which is available today everywhere digital music is sold.

Written by Sapp and frequent collaborator Stan Jones, “All In Your Hands” is a befitting song for today’s unimaginably unstable times. It is a melodious reminder to relinquish worry, anxiety, fear and doubt to the ever-knowing God who has an answer before the question is even asked. Produced by Aaron Lindsey, the track is spare, luminous and sublime. Vocally, Sapp simply shines. Described by the New York Times as an “exuberant, nimble and impassioned singer” – Sapp holds absolutely nothing back on this beautiful song.

“If there is one thing that I know it is that God is sovereign,” says Sapp. “When I first heard this song, I actually had already selected a debut single, but I knew this is what we needed to lead with. Whatever we are going through individually, and everything that the world is going through collectively, it is absolutely ALL in God’s hands. I’m honored to be able to bring this song to life to remind us of just that.”

“All In Your Hands” is available now everywhere digital music is sold. Marvin Sapp’s 14th album, Substance, will be released June 10th on Elev8 Media & Entertainment/Thirty Tigers.

Download Mp3: Good Idea – JJ Heller

JJ Heller releases new music with “Good Idea.” The track was written by Heller, David Heller, and Leslie Jordan.

Heller shares on social media:

I have an unofficial theory that every parent is especially suited to thrive during a certain stage of their child’s development. While each stage has its pros and cons, I have to be honest and say that pregnancy, newborn stage and toddlerhood were especially difficult for me.

It was always difficult to get down on the floor and play with my kids (it was a true act of love to pretend to be a puppy trainer), but have a meaningful conversation with me? ALL DAY LONG. I am absolutely loving having both of my kids officially in double digits.

As any parent of teens and tweens will tell you, it’s not all heart-to-hearts and “thank you for everything, Mom.” The older my kids get, the more complex their problems become. I can’t just fix it anymore. Mostly I get to listen and offer little bits of advice and wisdom. They’re learning how to navigate their own lives, including friendships (which can be treacherous territory).

When my girls are hurting because their friends aren’t treating them well, it hurts my heart. Sometimes I wish I could tag along at school with them and stick up for them when they’re getting mistreated or taken for granted. Instead, I have to trust that my words and fierce mama-love will be with them instead.

I want them to know, as my friend @taylorleon says, “Love Himself dreamed (them) up.” I want to shout from the rooftops that they have God-imparted, inherent dignity and they deserve to be treated with respect and kindness. Adolescence is intense (to say the least), so I want these lyrics to be a reminder that God created each of us with love in every tiny detail. No mistakes.

This is the message I will tell my children over and over.

If you’re doubtin, second-guessin
I have always been a true believer
There was never any question
You have always been a good idea

[Music] I Am Yours – Ileen Laura

Self-doubt is inevitable sometimes but, when someone struggles with anxiety, it can become chronic and amplified. Having experienced that anxiety firsthand, Canadian Christian artist Ileen Laura sings an upbeat, uplifting prayer of and for confidence in her soaring, harmony-filled new single “I Am Yours” — available now!

“I am someone who has struggled with anxiety ever since I was a little girl,” Laura shares of her inspiration behind “I Am Yours” — which is from her forthcoming album of the same name, set for release early Summer 2022. “My friends know me as a ‘worrywart’ and I am in a constant battle with myself over self-doubt.

“I wrote ‘I Am Yours’ about this struggle, a little reminder to set aside the opinions of others and focus on the one opinion that matters, God’s.”

The song begins with tinkling piano and strings that build just the right amount of drama. With her signature crystalline, beautifully lilting voice, Laura narrates the story of being at a low point, mired in feelings of depression and shame:

I’ve taken the longer road to get here
I’m down on my knees I’m singing a prayer
And oh those days that I felt that I couldn’t measure up
And oh those days that I felt that forever wasn’t enough

The chorus starts with a resolute “Well, I am yours!,” and then cue in some gorgeous backing vocals that morph into a journey of harmonies — from soothing “Oooohhs” to sophisticated, intricate layering — all punctuated by elegant string and trumpet accents, driven by an infectious beat.

Recorded at Robeter Productions in Woodbridge, Ontario, and produced by Peter Wellington and Robby Riggs, “I Am Yours” was inspired by the Bible verse 1 Peter 5:7 — Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. The soar to the song was wholly intentional.

“Peter and I wanted the music to sound upbeat and uplifting because after all, the thought of stripping away our anxieties, self-doubt and fears while choosing to live in freedom with Jesus by our side is liberating and should be shouted from the rooftops,” Laura says.

A passionate mother of two, wife, and believer in Christ, Ileen Laura is a Toronto-based singer and songwriter who thrives on creating powerful and moving Christian music inspired by her deeply meaningful life experiences. Her previous single “Sit Beside Me” dealt with the shifting of responsibilities she and her husband undertook to re-prioritize her music career, ultimately bringing them closer. In 2010, she released the full-length album Mindful Conversations. She has opened for Walk Off The Earth and Justin Nozuka, and has performed at the Scene Music Festival. She is excitedly anticipating the release of her second album.
