Village Lights Share “Here Is Our Hallelujah (Live)”

Here Is Our Hallelujah,” initially released on Village Lights’s debut album in 2021, is now reintroduced as a live version featuring their community. The single is a worshipful song growing from beautiful simplicity to a full-fledged anthem with a communal pattern of echoing the praises being sung.

The central message displayed in the song’s title truly reflects a collective “hallelujah”, meaning “praise the Lord.” “Music is always best when made in a community,” shares multiple GRAMMY-nominated worship leader Matt Maher, who mentors the group. “This requires such a level of trust. Every great artist knows this fundamental truth. Art is something best shared.

I love this group and their willingness to include so many in their journey of creativity. I am honored to help them as a producer bring this treatment of the end of the liturgical year into a collective work of song for the Church and the pilgrimage of the believer.” The song carries Village Lights’s heartbeat of unity, inclusivity, and reconciliation wrapped in worshipful devotion.

Seeing themselves as more than a band, but rather a movement for those who seek justice in our world and Church, Village Lights was birthed from the relationship of three independent artists who often found themselves leading worship together at youth conferences and discovering a shared desire to create more modern worship music for more liturgical church spaces.

Luke Wareham Releases First Live EP

Luke Wareham’s highly anticipated new live EP is out on the 23rd of June. The EP includes live versions of ‘Shadows, Honour You Lord, Refuge and Therefore I Know’. Luke says ‘making the new live EP has been great fun, with so many amazing people involved and I cannot wait for everyone to hear the songs.

I have been writing these songs over the past year (they have been previously released as studio recordings) and some really kind people have supported me in this new live recording’.

When speaking about the new live EP, Luke says, ‘Our hope in recording these songs is that they will help people fix their eyes on Jesus. The evening of worship where we recorded these songs was a special time when freedom was released in the room as we gazed at Jesus.

As we recorded the songs from the beginning we had 2 Corinthians 4:18 in mind and it has really spoken to me this year. It says ‘So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.

One of Luke’s favorite songs on the new release is ‘Therefore I Know’ which he wrote with Sarah Téibo and Rachel Walker Mason. The song is an outpouring of their hearts for each of us to know the hope we have in Jesus. Luke says ‘it was so great to write with Sarah and Rachel they are both great songwriters and encouragers. As we wrote this song we hoped that through it people will grow closer to God and have confidence in their identity in Him.

‘Luke Wareham – Live EP’ is available to stream and download on all music platforms and the brand new official music videos from the night are up on YouTube. The chords to the song are available to download via SongSelect.

Their story can be summed up thus: “When the sun shines… We shine together… Told you I’ll be here forever.”

Talking about how You Alone came across, Serah Alabi said, The song ‘You Alone’ came from the inspiration of the holy spirit. Encompassing what my husband and I have been through, where we are coming from, where we are now and the assurance of where God is taking us to.

Some years back, my husband became very sick and it seems like life itself has given up on him but God came through for him.  Same time the devil struck again and this time it was me, I almost lost my life and God came through for us again.

Looking back at all of these, He Alone is indeed worthy of our praise. “You Alone” is a translation of a Hausa song ”Kai kadia”.

There is nothing as precious that we can offer God except our worship.

Him Alone deserves our praise

Him Alone deserves our worship.
