RED Releases Double-Sided Single “Cold World” / “Minus It All”

GRAMMY-nominated RIAA Certified Gold®-selling alternative metal band RED releases its double-sided single “Cold World” / “Minus It All” from RED ENTERTAINMENT / The Fuel Music.

The songs are from the band’s first full-length studio recording in three years, RATED R, launching Sept. 29 and featuring the SiriusXM Octane added lead single “Surrogates.” which is where the whole album may also be pre-ordered/saved now.

The new album is RATED R for RED, and the band’s evocative artistry takes center stage on its eighth studio album, the follow-up to 2020’s chart-topping DECLARATION. The new A-side track, “Cold World,” comes with a warning from RED guitarist Anthony Armstrong, who produced the song and co-wrote it with Breaking Benjamin’s Keith Wallen.

“The track takes a look inside oneself when there’s someone or something that’s no longer a part of our life bringing us down. We feel a renewed sense of self, but be careful with that high,” warns Anthony, “This world can sometimes bring us back an even harder fall.”

Anthony also wrote and produced “Minus It All,” which he says “challenges us to subtract the constructs of life around us so that our soul can grow. This world wants its pound of flesh, and that’s just something we’re going to have to give. But giving up some or all of the things that poison us is a choice, a choice that gives us a chance to grow without all the noise.”

Consistently pairing sophisticated instrumentation with hard-hitting songwriting, dynamic performances, and grippingly personal lyrics, RED’s RATED R is a thought-provoking project that tackles several resonant and relevant topics while centering on the ideological and interpersonal divisions, confrontations, and suffering of modern society.

Lead single “Surrogates” kicks things off with noise from news reports, symbolizing how overwhelming the media can be. The band drew upon its filmic past, recording a video for the single in Utah that is in production now.

Taking its new music, fan favorites, and hits on an extensive international tour, RED launches the first leg of its The RATED R Tour in the U.S. on Sept. 8 in Joliet, IL, and traverses 26-cities across 18 states before wrapping up at The Masquerade in Atlanta Nov. 19.

Following a second string of U.S. dates in the winter/spring, RED is set to rock 135,000+ Graspop Metal Meeting festivalgoers from the mainstage in Belgium next summer with plans to hit additional festivals before traveling to 26 European cities in the fall of 2024.

“Who’s ready to get their faces melted live!?” asks RED members collectively. “We are thrilled to hit the road for The RATED R Tour starting this month!”

Tedashii Releases “Dead Or Alive”

Today (Sept 1), Tedashii releases new music with “Dead Or Alive.”

Following the release of his single “Texas Pete” on the Reach Records Summer Twenty-Three with Lecrae and Trip Lee, pointing back to the days they occupied the city of Houston with a young and fiery passion to unashamedly represent the gospel through Hip-Hop and “MMA Freestyle” last month, this is Tedashii’s third release of 2023 and solidifies that he can hang with the best of them.

Tedashii has explored various sounds in his career. Records like “Dum Dum” or “Go Hard” early in his career showed his natural ability to rap and his hunger to share the gospel. More recently, records like “Gotta Live” ft Jordan Feliz and “Holy Ground” from his latest EP, “This Time Around 2,” explore a wider variety of styles like electronic dance and afrobeat. Tedashii has always been inspired by all genres of music and felt called to create in those different lanes.

[Download] Lay It Down – Tasha Layton

BEC chart-topper Tasha Layton returns today with the deeply personal “Lay It Down,” a soul-saturated pop ballad echoing the promise of Jesus: “For my yoke is easy and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:30). Celebrating freedom from fear, worry, and strife, “Lay It Down” was written by Layton, Jess Cates, and Kalley Heiligenthal, along with GRAMMY® and Dove Award-winner Keith Everette Smith, who also produced the track.

Inspired by Layton’s journey of deliverance from depression and despair, “Lay It Down” finds the “Look What You’ve Done” and “How Far” hitmaker embracing total surrender: “You say Your yoke is easy/You say Your burden’s light/You take a soul that’s weary/Give comfort every time/And when my heart is heavy/I know without a doubt/There’s nothing you won’t carry/Oh, Lord, I lay it down.”

“There’s a lot we’re called to lay down in Scripture: our burdens, our pride, our crowns, even laying down to rest; laying down is a theme in the Bible,” Layton shares. “When we lay down what we’re carrying, our hands are open. And when our hands are free of the things that burden us and weigh us down, we are set apart from the worry and fear that plague the culture. We’re free to take the hand of another or offer help to those around us—to walk in freedom!”

“Sometimes, when you’re living through the burdens in life, laying it down doesn’t mean that circumstances change,” she adds. “What it does mean, however, is that you are trusting God. He offers peace, hope, and strength along the way as you live from a place of trust and rest instead of striving.”

Layton is set to share “Lay It Down” and “Never”—her Christian radio single rapidly climbing the charts—with audiences around the country as she steps into the spotlight for her debut headlining tour this fall. With special guest Jeremy Rosado, Layton’s “Look What You’ve Done Tour” kicks off October 26 in Indianapolis and will hit eight cities before concluding on November 12 in Columbus, Ohio.

In addition, Layton and acclaimed singer/songwriter Hannah Kerr will be special guests on Big Daddy Weave’s upcoming “Heaven Changes Everything Tour.” The multi-city fall outing begins September 20 in Meadville, Pennsylvania, and will hit Houston; Greenwich, Connecticut; and Rochester, New York, among other stops, before a November 19 finale in New Port Richey, Florida.

Ahead of her high-profile fall tours, Layton will co-headline three special “Worship with Chris Tomlin, We The Kingdom, and Tasha Layton” nights in Phoenix; Tucson, Arizona; and Reno, Nevada, next week.

Ruth La-Ontra Joins Bishop Leonard Scott On Hymn Remake “No Never Alone”

Super-soprano Ruth La’Ontra joins The Hymns Professor, Bishop Leonard Scott, on a stunning new rendition of Ludie Pickett’s obscure 1897 hymn “No Never Alone.” The pair first made a studio recording of the song for Scott’s acclaimed, Keep Hymns Alive (Tyscot Records), studio project in 2022.

The new cut, “No Never Alone (Live),” was recorded a few months ago at the Sheraton Hotel ballroom in Chapel Hill,  NC. La’Ontra was backed by a quartet of soulful singers as her dynamic voice effortlessly glided over the track with sincere emotion. Her angelic instrument ebbed with the lilting melody that was punctuated by strident piano keystrokes and an infectious warmth that permeated the room.

“It was a hymn I hadn’t heard of before until I did it with Bishop,” La’Ontra recalls. “After hearing it, I fell in love with it because it’s a song of hope, promise, and the future. Listening to it, the lyrics and the music bring me joy knowing that I have a promise from God that he will never leave me alone.” That track has been programmed on a few playlists, such as Amazon Music’s Gospel Now, Apple Music’s New in Gospel, Pandora’s New Gospel Now, and Spotify’s Fresh Gospel. The editorial coverage has brought the song over 15,000 digital streams in a few days.

“Working with Ruth La’Ontra on the `No Never Alone’ recording was an absolute delight,” Bishop Scott says. “Her vocal prowess is amazing and her delivery impeccable.” Meanwhile, they both have respective projects in the work. La’Ontra is busy writing songs for a live a project that she’s planning to record in 2024. Bishop Scott will release an EP entitled, Cross Songs, in the next few weeks.
