Phil Wickham’s ‘I Believe’ Debuts At #1 On Billboard’s Top Christian Album Chart
Two-time GRAMMY nominee Phil Wickham’s acclaimed new studio album I BELIEVE made its anticipated debut in a big way last week, entering Billboard’s Top Christian Album Sales Chart at #1, while also hitting the top 5 on Billboard’s Top 5 Current Digital Album Chart. I BELIEVE marks the respected worship leader’s tenth LP in a career filled with songs that have been sung in churches around the globe and streamed billions of times across multiple platforms.
In an exclusive chat with Billboard, Wickham commented, “Wow! I am absolutely floored by all the love and support for this album. This is wild! I felt called when I started writing this record to create songs that feel fresh, but at their core get back to the basics of who we are to God and who He is to us. Thanks to everyone for listening!”
It’s a landmark season for Wickham, who, while in the midst of multiple SOLD-OUT tour dates with Brandon Lake on their “Summer Worship Nights Tour,” saw his “House of the Lord” single RIAA certified Gold, and his YouTube channel reach 1 million YouTube subscribers. Fair Trade Services presented Wickham with a plaque for the RIAA certification at his Nashville, Bridgestone Arena show on August 24th.
Kicking off August 10th and wrapping up September 2nd in his hometown of San Diego, Wickham has spent the past month on the “Summer Worship Nights Tour” alongside Brandon Lake, with SOLD-OUT shows in multiple cities.
I BELIEVE also follows Wickham’s recent radio hit and 2023 Dove-Award nominated song “This Is Our God,” which has become one of the biggest songs of Wickham’s career to date. After spending multiple weeks at No.1 on the Mediabase Christian Audience, Mediabase Christian AC, and Billboard Christian AC charts, Wickham recently released the title track “I Believe” to radio – which is already airing on Air 1 and officially going for ads on September 8.
