Sixstepsrecords/Capitol CMG’s Passion released a five-song project, Burn Bright. This project was released during Passion 2022, which began yesterday and continues through today at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia with 50 states and 41 countries represented in attendance. This is the return of the conference in person after a virtual event last year due to the global pandemic. To accommodate those at home and around the globe, there is a live stream available in French, Portuguese, German, Spanish, Chinese (Mandarin), and Arabic.

Passion, helmed by Kristian Stanfill, Brett Younker, and Melodie Malone, led Passion 2022 along with fellow sixstepsrecords artists Crowder and Sean Curran. The album features songs co-written by Patrick Mayberry, Jess Cates, Chidima Ubah, Jon Duke, Mia Fields, Jacob Sooter, Kristian Stanfill, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Anna Golden, Melodie Malone, Jessie Early, Brett Younker, and Ricky Jackson. Burn Bright also features worship leaders Melodie Malone, Kristian Stanfill, Chidima, Brett Younker, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, and Anna Golden. Music minister, Nelly Peters shares timely message with the release of her latest single titled “My Life is in God’s Hand” (Umem Mi).

This single ‘My Life is in God’s Hand’ [Uwem Mi] remade from her debut album released in 2015 is a song of dedication and declaration of faith in our infallible God who is able to see us through the new year, the New Month, New day or minute-to-minute moments of every phase of life challenges. As New Year celebrations begin, there’s usually one phrase on the tip of our lips – ‘Thank You Lord!’ It’s a time  when we’re all giving thanks to the One who has seen us through a difficult year and has given us the power to  live, to move, and be the best we can be.

Gaza Danladi drops yet another single and a viral video ending the year with an urban street gospel song he titles ‘PADI’. The song talks about the love relationship he shares with God who he here refers to as ‘PADI’ a pidgin slang that means “friend”, as God is to us.

This tune and lyrics are delivered as though sung to a significant other but the depth of the lyrics leaves so much to ponder on when you grasp the extent of the confession, assurance and love security that this love entails, obviously not just the kind you can be that confident of from another human being amongst other notable highlights of the song.

Please join us in extending our deepest sympathies and heartfelt prayers to the family of Jason (Jay) Weaver, who passed away on January 2nd, 2022 from complications related to COVID-19.

“I’m so sorry to bring this news, but I’m also excited to celebrate where he is right now,” Mike Weaver shared in an emotional message posted on social media a few hours after Jay passed away.

Readers may remember that the CCM community has joined together in prayer for Jay’s health and healing a few times over the last few years. In August 2021, Big Daddy Weave’s bass player was hospitalized in the ICU for complications related to dialysis treatments. And in 2016, Jason underwent bilateral foot amputations and numerous procedures to curb a serious leg infection.

Mike Weaver continued, “You guys have seen him walk the uphill battle and you guys have helped carry him through so much…The Lord used him in such a mighty way out on the road for so many years. And anybody who has come into contact with him knows just how real his faith in Jesus was.”

“I believe that although COVID may have taken his last breath, Jesus was right there to catch him,” Mike added. “My heart’s broke[n] for my family here but also for Jay’s family in Florida. But we all just really wanted to thank you for walking with us through so much, you know, for so long.”

Mike concluded, “The prayers for healing can turn into prayers of thanksgiving now that Jay is in God’s presence. We will all deal with the heartache as it comes. There is that broken part in being in this broken place until the day that we are going to step through and see what Jay is seeing.”

Jay is survived by his wife Emily and their three children, Makenzie, Madison and Nathan.

The just-concluded Concert Simpli Praise that took place at Muri Okunola Park on Sunday, the 26th of December was a huge success and we are super proud.

The Gospel Concert which was organized by Simpli Mi homes, Her Royal Highness Edna Ubebe, MD/CEO  of the leading real estate company, and produced by Yaw Naija Production had the likes of Gospel Musicians; Tope Alabi, Eben, Beejay Sax, Ada Ehi, Bukola Bekes, Akpororo, and many others performed beautifully and God’s presence was indeed present at the Live Concert.

The Simpli Praise Concert had so many celebrities, families, friends, and people from the general public gathered to praise and worship God for a wonderful and blessed year as it was a free event.

Edna Ubebe is also the founder of the Edna Ubebe Foundation, an organization that works for the social development and integration of underprivileged persons, vulnerable youths, children, widows, and the aged in our communities in Nigeria.

This year she gave grants of Twenty Million Naira (N20,000,000) to over 200 Widows  that are hardworking and needs support and empowerment to start their individual businesses

Her Royal Highness Edna Ubebe said that the Simpli Praise Concert which started in 2020 with a second edition this year will hold yearly henceforth as it will be a way to worship and praise God for the successful business year.

Also reacting to the success of the concert is the Producer Steve  Onu (YAW) who added that being a Nigerian is stressful enough but we just have to be thanking God.

Nigerian Contemporary Gospel Artist Ofonime Emmanuel Akpan popularly known as “Fonnie Emmanuel” has released the long anticipated Irresistible Sound “Absolutely Nothing”.

The Uyo based singer who released Ekamba Abasi officially on Sunday 19^th April, 2020 has released his latest melody “Absolutely Nothing” on 1^st January, 2022.

During his interview session on the 27^th of December, 2021 in Uyo, Fonnie revealed that he recorded the song to encourage people to depend fully on God at all times.

Emerging Gospel singer, Joey Adono has released a brand new praise anthem titled “Understand My Praise”.

“Understand My Praise” is better described as a gratitude anthem. A song inspired by the Biblical account of King David rejoicing as the Ark of Covenant returned to Israel.

Joey Adono (Joseph Adono Okooboh) is a singer songwriter whose passion for music and composition is deeply rooted in love for God and love for people. Joey as he’s fondly called, hails from Edo state, Nigeria. He’s the first of four children and most of his growing years was in Ibadan. He is a graduate of Geography from Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-ife, Osun State.

His latest single “Understand My Praise” captures the gratitude mode of the king despite the ridicule by Saul’s Daughter who was the King David’s wife. An uptempo gospel pop with heavy African rhythm written in the Nigerian Colloquial language. It is a very groovy sing along song.

“Understand My Praise” was written by Joey Adono Okooboh and produced by Eskeez.

Joey has an EP and four singles to his credit. He has shared his craft on various platforms ranging from Government functions, Concerts and Churches amongst others.
