SiriusXM Launches Holy Culture Radio

SiriusXM announced the launch of Holy Culture Radio, a new spiritually-inspired talk and music channel beginning today.

Holy Culture Radio is the home for everything Christian Hip-Hop and Rhythm & Praise. Its programming will focus on themes of Faith, Art, Vocation, and Education, unifying three foundational things listeners are looking for: connection to popular culture, connection to their faith, and success in their careers.

The range of shows on the channel will include The Christ Revolution Music, hosted by Bryant Tabb, which focuses on Christian Hip-Hop and features interviews with artists, producers and DJs. Old School Sounds, hosted by DJ D-Lite, takes listeners back to the genre’s beginnings. Holy Culture Radio will also include Straight Ministry Heat Mix, where host DJ I Rock Jesus introduces people to The Gospel of Jesus Christ, and The Underground Gospel Hip-Hop Show, where Jay Williams helps to launch indie faith-based artists, personifying the notion of having a great time while inspiring listeners with meaningful messages. DJ Wade-O is best known for his spinning skills and insightful interviews with artists, pastors, and leaders within the Christian Hip-Hop community.

Music mix shows will help provide the soundtrack for various times in listeners’ days with music specially curated for those moments, including The Get-Up Morning Mix of songs and messages to inspire and start mornings off right, Sunday Morning Mix designed to help get praise and worship on and Prime MT Mix with a wide variety of music combined with empowering conversations, curated and presented by James Rosseau and other tastemakers.

Talk shows will include K.I.N.G Talks, with open discussions on life with the intent of creating an environment of effective communication and an atmosphere of compassion and understanding, Da Fixx Radio Show, which features real talk topics referencing everything from theological dialogue to trending topics, and Church on the Block, where Pastor Phil Jackson engages in all-encompassing discussions and theological breakdowns of hip-hop and street culture and how the church can deliver hope.

Holy Culture Radio is owned and operated by The Corelink Solution, a non-profit organization whose mission statement is to deliver a curriculum designed to help people develop their passion and purpose, create an informed plan, use tools to help them succeed and establish accountability and ownership.

“I am beyond excited about this union between Holy Culture and SiriusXM!” said James Rosseau, founder of The Corelink Solution and on-air personality on Holy Culture Radio. “Introducing the platform’s first Christian Hip-Hop channel with music and talk allows us to extend our ‘head and heart’ community revitalization mission through systems of learning and cultural enrichment, focusing on African-Americans. Having struggled to gain self-confidence in my youth, I understand the need for culturally relevant support systems. As we launch this new channel, we are expanding our programming with a host of shows that deliver a life-changing experience through progressive music and empowering conversations.”

Holy Culture Radio will be available to listeners nationwide on the SXM App and on select SiriusXM radios (channel 154) beginning today, April 21.

SiriusXM carries Holy Culture Radio as part of its Qualified Entity program, which focuses on selecting programming representing diverse viewpoints and/or diverse entertainment content; improved service to historically underserved audiences; original content of a type not otherwise available to SiriusXM subscribers; and access to new sources of content and new entrants to mass media.

Download Mp3: 10,000 Reasons (Bless The Lord) – Matt Redman Ft. Pat Barrett, Torwalts, Naomi Raine & Crowder

This year the iconic worship song, “10,000 Reasons (Bless The Lord),” written by Matt Redman and Jonas Myrin celebrates a decade of impacting the world with its message. Today Worship Together releases the newly recorded 10th Anniversary edition of the song featuring Redman, Pat Barrett, Bryan & Katie Torwalt, Crowder, and Naomi Raine. The song is available here as well as with the lyric video below.

“Just this week I was shown phone footage of a precious family in a Ukrainian city, caught up in the horrors of war,” Matt Redman explains. “Wrapped in winter coats and huddled together in a cold basement, still they sang out their worship – using the song ‘10,000 Reasons’ to give voice to their hearts of faith. It was a humbling video to watch. It’s been a decade now since this simple song was released, but I don’t think I’ll ever get used to these kinds of stories. I’ve met some truly astonishing worshippers along the way – people on cancer wards or in the firing line somehow finding their way to the place of praise – and using ‘10,000 Reasons’ as their soundtrack. I love the new 10th-anniversary version that Capitol Christian Music Group has commissioned – and it’s a joy to join friends Pat Barrett, Naomi Raine, Crowder, and the Torwalts on it.”

“It’s the greatest gift as a songwriter being part of a song, a creative journey that is way bigger than yourself,” shares Jonas Myrin. “‘10,000 Reasons’, was one of those gifts. Matt and I wrote this simple hymn in a little chapel in England, and still to this day – 10 years later, I’m still in awe of how God has used and is continuing to use this song around the world. I realized rather quickly that this was not ‘our song’, but it’s become an anthem for people in their personal moments of celebration, praise, and joy, yet also a song of comfort in times of grief, heartbreak, and loss. So let it be so; through it, all, from the morning light to the setting of the sun, with grateful hearts bless the Lord, 10,000 years and then forevermore….”

Since the release of “10,000 Reasons,” the song has received 2x RIAA Platinum certification, two GRAMMY Awards (“Best Contemporary Christian Music Song, Best Gospel/Contemporary Christian Music Performance”), three GMA Dove Awards (“Song of the Year,” “Contemporary Christian Performance of the Year,” “Pop Contemporary Song,”) and has more than 1.3 billion global streams. Not only has this song impacted worshippers, but the worship leaders and those who are now leading music for the church.

“I knew the first time I heard this song that it wouldn’t be the last,” states Pat Barrett. “Here we are 10 years later, and it’s still as relevant as it is reliable in its ability to cut through the noise and invite us to the table of communion with God. What a gift.”

Bryan & Katie Torwalt share, “It’s hard to believe that it has been 10 years since this song was released. We were Worship Pastors at a church in Central CA when the song came out, and it has been a staple ever since. It’s a simple declaration of worship, and like David in the Psalms taught us to command our souls to praise the Lord! It was an incredible, timely song, that gave the church a new language to lift our praise. We both grew up listening to and leading Matt Redman songs in youth groups, and so to get to sing on this 10-year Anniversary version of this incredible song with him and some of our friends is a huge honor!”

[Music] Enough Already – Brandon Heath

Five-time GRAMMY®-nominated, eight-time Dove Award-winning Brandon Heath releases his first full-length, Centricity Music album, Enough Already, today (April 22). Available now at digital and streaming outlets everywhere, the album features the No. 7 and climbing AC Indicator Billboard radio hit, “See Me Through It,” and eight more tracks that find Heath addressing faith-shaping questions and collaborating with multiple producers and songwriters.

A healthy mix of ready-made hits and deep cuts, Enough Already also exposes the singer’s hidden insecurities, like his ever-present struggle with feeling like he never quite measures up.

“It’s a real weakness for me, but I also realize there’s a lot of people out there who can relate to that. So I decided to kind of allow it to have more space in my life and to let it affect my songwriting,” Heath shares. “This has been a season of me rediscovering what I mean to God, and it has really just given me a lot of peace and a sense of belonging.”

This hard-won realization emboldens the title-cut that holds a lighthearted double meaning. “I don’t need anything or anyone else to tell me what I’m worth. God has already defined my worth. He already calls me son. He already recognizes me as redeemed,” Heath contends. “There’s really nothing in this world that could give me more meaning and purpose than what God already gives me.”

Leaning further into the Enough Already central theme, Heath breaks down the core elements of belief on “That’s Enough” while the autobiographical “He Is Not Worried” relies on Heath’s signature storytelling. Depicting a full circle moment from his childhood all the way back to the present day raising two kids of his own, the selection explores the way a father sets the tone for his family. The Gospel-tinged track asks a pivotal question that has become a personal compass for Heath: Is my Heavenly Father worried? The question is timely considering the fear that’s currently running rampant on a global scale.

“Things are crazy,” Heath concedes, “but it’s not the time to lose our head, throw up our hands and dig ourselves into a hole. It’s time to love our neighbor. That’s what God has called us to do — to love and see our neighbor, because I know they’re scared like I am. So I’m trying to be more in tune with the people around me and just find ways to say, ‘Hey, we’re loved. We’re not alone.’”

Teaming with GRAMMY-nominated producers Jordan Sapp and Jeff Pardo plus Apollo LTDKyle Williams (We Are Messengers) and Christian Hale for Enough Already, Heath also brought in Doug WeierNick Rad and five-time GRAMMY winner Dave Clauss to mix select tracks. He further collaborated with multiple songwriters, co-writing with producers Hale, Williams and Apollo LTD’s Jordan Phillips and Adam Stark along with Paul DuncanRoss KingJonathan SmithMallary HopeMolly Reed GraysonHeather Morgan and GRAMMY Award winning Ran Jackson.

The seeds of Heath’s new songs were planted in his backyard, a place where he has spent a good portion of time over the past year thinking, praying and mowing his steep plot of land that includes a small creek, a play set for his young daughters and a fire pit for the men’s group that meets at his house. Essentially, his backyard is the place where his next album has grown.

Ironically, when the pandemic shut down touring in 2020, Heath spent an unexpected amount of time in other people’s backyards. He decided to play small, safe outdoor shows by invitation-only in select backyards across the country. These “Brandon in the Backyard” dates were so enjoyable that Heath is making plans now to play his new hits and fan favorites at an additional 30 backyards this spring and summer.

Highlighting the tour on the nationally televised Huckabee show while performing both “See Me Through It” and “That’s Enough” before joining Will Graham and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association for a livestreamed Good Friday event, Heath also has a standalone single, “Anywhere But Here,” featured in the independent film The Sound Of Violet in theaters next week.
