Brandon Heath’s First Centricity Music Album, Enough Already Sparks No. 1 Hit “See Me Through It”

Five-time GRAMMY®-nominated, eight-time Dove Award-winning Brandon Heath released his first full-length, Centricity Music album, Enough Already, April 22. This week the acclaimed album sparks the No. 1 Billboard Christian AC radio hit, “See Me Through It,” and features eight more tracks that find Heath addressing faith-shaping questions and collaborating with multiple producers and songwriters.

Co-written by Heath, Kyle Williams (We Are Messengers), GRAMMY Award-winner Ran Jackson and Heather Morgan, “See Me Through It” encourages listeners that they are never alone in whatever life is throwing at them.

“Where could we hide from Him? He sees us in the dark,” Heath says of the song’s message. “He pursues us; He sees us, and He stays with us. No matter how lost we feel or how difficult things get, He sees us where we are, and He’s going to see us through it.”

“I owe a huge thank you to Christian radio and to the radio dream team @centricityradio for the dedication to get this one out to the masses,” adds Heath on Facebook. “My three-year-old told me yesterday in the car, ‘Daddy, sometimes when I’m sad, music makes me feel better.’ How true is that!?! So thankful that this music we make is helping people get through a tough time.”

Teaming with producer Williams to record “See Me Through It,” Heath also recorded select Enough Already songs with GRAMMY-nominated producers Jordan Sapp and Jeff Pardo plus Apollo LTD and Christian Hale while Doug WeierNick Rad and five-time GRAMMY-winner Dave Clauss mixed select tracks. He further co-wrote songs with Paul DuncanRoss KingJonathan SmithMallary HopeMolly Reed Grayson, Hale and Apollo LTD’s Jordan Phillips and Adam Stark.

Blending a healthy mix of ready-made hits and deep cuts, the seeds of Heath’s new songs on Enough Already were planted in his backyard, a place where he has spent a good portion of time thinking, praying and mowing his steep plot of land that includes a small creek, a play set for his young daughters and a fire pit for the men’s group that meets at his house. Essentially, his backyard is the place where his current album grew.

Ironically, when the pandemic shut down touring in 2020, Heath spent an unexpected amount of time in other people’s backyards. He decided to play small, safe outdoor shows by invitation-only in select backyards across the country. These “Brandon in the Backyard” dates were so enjoyable that Heath is continuing the events, playing his new hits and fan favorites in backyards this summer.

Take It To Your Grave (Single Review) – See Your Shadow

See Your Shadow features a rustic Americana with “Take It To Your Grave”. Verses here are chosen with care for the balance held within proves to be poignant. Everything about it has this sense of intimacy to it. With each verse the narrative comes into full view. His uncanny ability to capture a very true and real dilemma feels vivid. By going for a realness there is a careful cadence, one that absolutely stuns.

The rest of the arrangement helps to punctuate the power of his words.

Right from the beginning there is a rural charm to it. With the atmosphere evoking a full-on open sky country, the rest of the song gradually comes into place. Right in the very heart of the thing rests those lyrics though, things that feel acutely real. Drums here opt for a ramshackle quality as the tempos have a laid-back tenor to them. Balance proves to be of the essence as it all comes together in a way that feels highly personal. Over the course of the journey there is a delicacy to be found, between the sense of being honest versus being right. The desire to prevent harm, to help protect a family, proves to be more potent than anything else. For the finale it all sweeps up in one final grand gesture.

“Take It To Your Grave” delivers a truly exceptional work, for See Your Shadow has a deft storytelling ability to it.

Dynamic Vocalist, Ruth La’ontra Drops First New Music in 5 Years – “Did It Again”

Aberdeen, NC: A young gospel music veteran, Ruth La’Ontra, has dropped her first new track and music video since 2017’s Billboard Top Ten smash, “Kingdom” (ALJR/Tyscot). Her  dazzling vocals shine on “Did It Again” (ALJR/Tyscot) that is available on all major digital service platforms.

The twenty-something singer teams with newcomer producer, Jeffrey Thomas II of the Indianapolis-based gospel group Thomas & The Situation; and veteran producer, Claudius Craig; for a fun, bouncy, up-tempo track that serves as a fine re-introduction. The message is one of gratitude to God for His many blessings. Thomas serves as emcee (a la Kirk Franklin), egging La’Ontra on as her superior soprano soothes, squalls, and inhabits every fiber of this passionate declaration. On the climatic fade, a swirl of organ fills and Memphis-styled horn riffs, fuse with La’Ontra’s vocal for a gritty, down-home field holler that could raise James Brown from his slumber.  “I like the vibe and the message of the song,” La’Ontra says. “Every time I listen to it, it makes me happy. I like the fact that my kids want me to keep it on repeat every time they hear it.”

Dynamic Vocalist, Ruth La’ontra Drops First New Music in 5 Years – “Did It Again”

“I was looking for several months for a new song that would showcase Ruth’s voice, her youth, and her personality,” Craig says. “Then, I heard this demo from Thomas & The Situation and knew right away that this would be a great match for her phenomenal voice. She can sing anything, and with her versatile vocal ability, I felt that this would showcase both her soulful and churchy chops on this great sing-along groove.”

The song was recorded in Indianapolis at Alan Johnson’s legendary Static Shack studio where a variety of artists have recorded and the syndicated comedy program, The Bob & Tom Show, has been produced for over 25 years. “When Ruth got to the studio to record `Did It Again’ we were vibing to the track,” Thomas recalls. “She was doing all these incredible runs and riffs, then turns to me mid run and says, `I ain’t doing all that talking and hype stuff… I don’t know who y’all think I am.’  We laughed for about 10 minutes after that.”
