This song “BABA GOD” is a song born out of the insatiable hunger and thirst to continue to praise God for all he does for me and to all who follow him. It was inspired by the understanding that we need to remain thankful to God rather than always wanting him to satisfy our numerous needs. It is important to note that whenever we gather before God either as individuals or groups of individuals, it should not be all about presenting our needs before God, sometimes, we need to count our blessings and name them one by one and offer Him nothing but our praises.
This is exactly what inspires this song; an inspiration grounded in Psalm 150:6 where it was stated: “Let everything that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD”. American songwriter and Gospel music icon, Rich Mullins, penned and recorded treasured songs such as “Awesome God,” “Hold Me Jesus” and “If I Stand,” before his tragic passing at the height of his career 25 years ago. Millions of listeners have connected with his music over the decades, and a wide array of recording artists have been impacted by his simple musical arrangements and raw lyrics. To commemorate the 25th anniversary of his passing, various artists gathered in his historic home in Bellsburg, Tennessee to record an 18-track album that features two never-before-released demos from Mullins himself. Notable artists featured include Amy Grant, Andrew Peterson, Mitch McVicker, Jason Gray, Ashley Cleveland, Sara Groves, Taylor Leonhardt and many more. Produced by Chris Hoisington, Andrew Greer, and Evan Sieling for Old Bear Records, and Executive Produced by Greer, Anthony Hoisington and Dave Trout of UTR Media, these tracks were recorded with the sparse instrumentation and arrangements that were found on many of Mullins’ demos. Each of the artists featured in the project has a personal connection with Mullins or has been deeply influenced by his music.

The “double album” that was recorded live-to-tape also includes a new recording of the iconic Mullins’ song, “Hard To Get,” featuring his brother David Mullins and nephew Jonathan Mullins. The never heard demos are “Whitewater” and “Holy Pretenders” captured by Mullins. In addition to the album, a documentary filmed during the recording sessions will release in 2023 and is highlighted in the album trailer below. The Deluxe CD packaging also features exclusive never-before-seen photos of the album’s recording sessions and Mullins (see below).
In a recent op-ed piece in the New York Times, Mullins’ music was described as “a mix of folk, Americana, gospel, Appalachian and Celtic influences. What makes it stand out most is his lyrics. Christian music has been accused of being shallow — infused with a saccharine “Yay, Jesus!” corniness. Mullins, in contrast, was authentic and raw.” The piece also highlighted this tribute album as part of the 25th anniversary of his death and the celebration of his life during his birthday month of October.

Produced and written by Cain with all but one track recorded, mixed and mastered at Addiction Sound Studios by David Kalmusky (Justin Bieber, The Fray, Keith Urban), Christmas Is Loveis a five-song holiday offering bearing this legendary musician’s signature. Familiar, yet unconventional, the EP paints a musical palette highlighting the remarkable story of the birth of Jesus in the opening track, “Hope Was Born,” and marvels at the miracle in “Who Is This Child” while underscoring the core message in the title track.
“Christmas is love. It is that simple,” shares Cain, as the EP highlights the artist’s brilliant keyboard work along with his dynamic vocals that have been forged through six solo albums since 2016 and as a worship leader at City Of Destiny Church in Apopka, FL where his wife, Paula White-Cain, is pastor.
“I enjoy celebrating Christmas every year,” says Cain, who remembers the joy of singing carols at home with his family growing up. “What went down in the desert at Bethlehem, it’s such a monumental miracle that shouldn’t be taken for granted. It was a game changer.”

Offering a timely reminder that the Spirit of Christmas is alive every day, acclaimed singer/songwriter and speaker Billy Ballenger’s aptly titled All Year is now available.
The three-song EP was produced by Riley Friesen and features the message-driven title-cut as well as two new interpretations of Michael Card’s Christmas classic, “Joseph’s Song.”
Co-written by Ballenger and Friesen, “All Year” is a joyful pop anthem showcasing the heart of the Gospel: “Every laugh, every smile when we celebrate/is a love that’s a gift that we all can take/when we find out that Jesus is here all year.” Understanding that Christmas is more than a holiday, Ballenger hopes the song will encourage listeners facing troubled times—no matter the season.
“It’s easier to catch the Christmas spirit during the holidays,” he says. “We can turn joy on at will just because it’s that time of year again but if you’re struggling, Christmas isn’t always a joyful season. The reality is that we are meant to have lasting Christmas joy and true Hope every single day because we have a Savior who is with us ‘all year.’”
In addition, Ballenger delivers two impassioned renditions of “Joseph’s Song,” a classic he readily embraced as a father himself. “It’s an absolute honor to cover this song for so many reasons,” he shares. “Beautifully written by Michael Card, it speaks to the weight of Joseph’s unique situation as the earthly father of God’s Son. Like many of us fathers, I can relate to the responsibility Joseph must have felt to get it right in raising his child. Yet in his case, the pressure to raise Jesus well was infinitely magnified.”
