Multi-Grammy Award winning duo and Curb | Word Entertainment recording artist FOR KING + COUNTRY received a 2023 nomination for the upcoming 65^th Grammy with Hillary Scott of Lady A for their recently released song, “For God Is With Us”. The single is up for “Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song” for the award show that will take place on February 5 and marks the seventh Grammy nomination of their career (with four wins).

FOR KING + COUNTRY is also nominated for “Favorite Inspirational Artist” for this year’s American Music Awards which takes place next Sunday, November 20; and received a Billboard Award nomination for “Top Christian Artist,” in addition to three Dove Awards wins this year for their latest album, “WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR?”  The album debuted earlier this year in the Top 10 (#7) on the Billboard 200.

Keith and Kristyn Getty, the world’s foremost contemporary hymn writers and performers, earned their first Grammy nomination yesterday when their album, Confessio – Irish American Roots, was officially nominated for Best Roots Gospel Album.

“We made this album when we were home with our daughters in Northern Ireland during Covid,” said Keith and Kristyn Getty. “It was our love letter to the land of our birth: the place that gave the origins and the meaning to why we write hymns, from its first hymn writer St. Patrick and his ‘Confession,’ to ‘Be Thou My Vision,’ to our own journey writing ‘In Christ Alone’ and other modern hymns. We are honored by this –our first– Grammy nomination and we hope the project shines a greater light on the Christian heritage of the West, the importance of hymn singing, and the irresistible beauty of the Lord Jesus.”

The 2023 GRAMMYs, officially known as the 65th GRAMMY Awards, will air live on Sunday, Feb. 5, from Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena, and it will broadcast live on the CBS Television Network and stream live and on-demand on Paramount+ at 8-11:30 p.m. ET / 5-8:30 p.m. PT+. The Best Roots Gospel Album category is for albums containing greater than 50% playing time of newly recorded, vocal, traditional/roots gospel music, including country, Southern gospel, bluegrass, and Americana recordings. The Gettys are nominate along with Willie Nelson, the Gaither Vocal Band, Karen Peck & New River, and the Tennessee State University Marching Band.

Confessio – Irish American Roots, was recorded on the North Coast of Ireland during the pandemic. The album traces the Gettys’ journey back to their native homeland to explore the connection between Ireland’s enduring faith music heritage and its legacy in America. The album showcases 15 modern and timeless hymns, highlighting traditional Irish melodies and instrumentation, while also featuring performances by a musically diverse array of stellar guests including multiple Grammy-winning artists such as Alison Krauss and Kirk Whalum, and bluegrass icon Ricky Skaggs.

Award-winning artist, songwriter, and worship leader Phil Wickham, who recently took home three Dove Awards (Worship Song of the Year, Worship Album of the Year and Songwriter of the Year), has debuted the music video for his new Christmas single “BEHOLD,” featuring New Artist of the Year Dove Award-winner and current American Music Award nominee, Anne Wilson.

Nigerian gospel music minister Chiny Ezike releases her brand new single “Hail Baba“. The prolific Nigerian Christian recording artist currently based in Spain has been releasing music regularly over the last couple of years and this year has been no exception. And with 2022 winding down she offers her curtain fall for the year with the release of Hail Baba.

Hail Baba is a groovy Afropop number with an avalanche of African percussions and infectious guitar chords. The song features South African Christian gospel minister Sikhumbuzo Praise who brought the unmistakable South African swagger to the party.

Chiny Ezike says “Hail Baba is a song of total appreciation to God Almighty for His Marvelous works.” She also added “The inspiration came from deep meditation of all that he has done and all that He is yet to do. I’m just counting my blessings.”

Indeed Hail Baba is a praise anthem every listener needs in their arsenal. The song was written by Chiny Ezike, co-written by Sikhumbuzo Praise and produced by Kemzy Kem.
