Joel Caws Releases Second Song From His New Worship EP

Joel Caws, a worship leader and singer/songwriter from the UK has just released the second track from his brand new EP, a catchy new worship song titled ‘My One and Only’’.

Joel has been releasing music for over 3 years and this latest worship song delves deeper into his worship journey.

Joel shares his inspiration behind the new song: “I’m so excited to share ‘My One and Only’ which is the second song from my upcoming EP release. I had been thinking around the scripture from Exodus 20 about having no other god’s but our one true God, and the idea of God being my One and Only God came into my head. From that central theme, I was able to build out the rest of the song quite quickly and naturally.”

Of the new song release, Joel comments “‘this song reflects my own struggles as a Christian with my own ‘gods’: the old habits and things that I can be tempted to run to rather than God. It also echoes my desire to leave those things behind and choose to trust God as my one and only security and hope.”

Of his desire for others to engage with this song, Joel responds “I think every Christian can identify with the daily struggle to place God as number one in our lives. Our culture and our old broken ways can tend to pull us towards a ‘me first’ mentality,

and it takes a daily commitment to put God in His rightful place at the centre; our one and only God. This is a song of encouragement, intention and rising faith that even when we trip and fall, we can rise up again and put God back in His rightful place as our One and Only.”

REVERE Releases Second Single In A Series Of Multilingual Songs

Adding to the trio of multilingual releases from REVERE’s upcoming live album, “Contemple O Reí Da Gloria” introduces the Portuguese version of this foundational song.

The new single was captured live at the latest REVERE recording in the Fall of 2022, led by Brazilian worship leaders Gabriel Guedes and Gabi Sampaio. Back in 2021, this song was one of the first fruits of the now global movement of worship, which this new international version highlights.

Whether in English, Spanish, or Portuguese, REVERE’s unified pursuit of God through this song creates an inviting call to an encounter with the Holy One, making space to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and express His greatness. “Contemple O Reí Da Gloria” carries REVERE’s core desire to inspire the Church to embrace her purpose of wholehearted, selfless, and boundary-breaking worship again.

Anchor Hymns’ New EP Is A Nod To The Importance Of The Hymnal Tradition

Anchor Hymns releases their third project, a new EP named “Sing, Sing, Sing.” The title is a nod to the importance of the hymnal tradition – sacred songs that outlast us, inform our theology, and meet us in the face of joy and suffering. Anchor Hymns is all about gathering to honor and join in the lineage of great songs of truth handed down over time, and after two initial projects presenting reimagined versions of Church classics, the collective introduces their first EP of originals.

The five new tracks are groovy, folk-driven songs with a timeless feel. Anchor Hymns releases this new project with “By The Savior’s Power” as its featured track, a song meant to serve as a timeless hymn for life, death, and new life with Christ.

“I feel this song is truly important for all those in grief and who have experienced loss to hope in Christ who can be trusted in and has conquered death,” says collective member Ricky Vazquez “Sing, Sing, Sing” gathered songwriters and worship leaders from various religious backgrounds, bringing the rich heritage of their tradition into the process.

Anchor Hymns’s founder, Andrew Osenga, tells of the three elements at the heart of lasting songs, “An honest presentation of our collective experience of suffering and doubt, an awareness of how fleeting time is, and God’s faithfulness through both of those things.”

With this in mind, this new project was crafted around a desire of writing songs for the Church to sing for ages to come and be anchored by in the midst of life’s uncertainty.

New Life Worship Releases “Nobody But You”

“Nobody But You” rose from a desire to provide the Church with a song of declaration to cling to in every season. Emerging from New Life Worship, this song started with a simple melody saying that no one is higher or more worthy than Jesus. The new single highlights the promise of salvation in Romans 10:13 on an up-tempo, joyful soundscape.

New Life Worship deeply believes that songs shape theology. After noticing a gap in pieces of substance that are lively and upbeat but full of rich truth to begin a gathering, “Nobody But You” seeks to gather and inspire the church to plant a stake in the ground of confidence in the Lord and His character.

“The culture around us is fueled with either becoming God or haphazardly choosing gods,” says worship leader Jon Egan. “As Christians, we are marked by the simple truth that we have one God, and we are not it. We have one Savior, and we are dependent upon Him. This is an important message to declare in the world we live in. There is no other God but Jesus.”

The team hopes to instill and strengthen faith through this release and remind us of the trustworthiness of God. As the song has become life-giving and enriching to their local body of believers, New Life Worship is eager to share this Spirit-filled anthem with the world this summer.

Trampolines Introduces EDM Version Of “Waymaker”

Electronic pop rock band Trampolines has released their take on “Waymaker,” an effusive, cinematic track that represents the future of worship.

“We wanted to make a version of ‘Waymaker’ for a modern generation that wants to worship God in our way,” Trampolines’ Lane Terzieff explains. “It’s for the punks, the wild, authentic Gen Z and Millennials who are different. But the authenticity of the worship is there.”

The music video that released alongside the song represents that same energy, full of raw, incendiary parking lot worship. The musical arrangement the passionate heart.

As Lane describes the sound, “It’s a mix of orchestral film score-style music and electronic, futuristic bass drops.”

Husband and wife duo Lane and Cary Terzieff, who lead Trampolines, produced the song themselves. They’ve already taken their arrangement around the world through Europe and Asia as well as the United States. That approach exemplifies their commitment to global ministry with an intensely missional focus. 100% of the band’s profits support their outreach work around the world.

“Waymaker” itself is a song with a global history, originally written by Nigerian artist Sinach. The song has been popularized through versions recorded by artists like Leeland, Michael W. Smith, Bethel and Passion.

Trampolines concerts are an opportunity to participate in their international missions work. You can learn more about booking them at faabooking.com/trampolines, and donate directly to their missions at www.LaneAndCary.com.

[Music] God Did It – Mervin Mayo

Mervin Mayo – the singing cop – is back on his beat, the music beat that is. He has dropped a new track, “God Did It” (Mervin Mayo Productions / God’s Glory Music Group / Tyscot Records), on all digital music platforms. Producer DJ Timpusha (Chuck Brown, Christopher Williams) has created an upbeat, track with subtle elements of Trap and R&B that lies beneath a hardy message of faith. Mayo’s voice – an aggressive old-school baritone in the mold of The Dells’ Marvin Junior or The Dramatics’ LJ Reynolds – permeates the groove. It’s a contagiously feel-good track that’s perfect for warm nights and sunny days.

In 2020, Mayo, became a viral sensation when his performance of a gospel song garnered over a million Facebook views. The surprise feat also earned him coverage on CNN’s Headline News channel.  In 2021, Tyscot Records signed him to a joint venture contract. His first single under the deal, “The Best Friend,” was released in the spring of 2022. The soulful ballad has garnered millions of streams, over two million from the Pandora® music app alone.

In a time when many law enforcement officers are vilified for the bad actions of a few, Mayo is one of the good guys. He grew up in Richmond’s tough Creighton Court housing projects.  “There was a lot of drugs and a lot of killing around me,” he recalls. “I could be out sitting on the porch, and somebody was just shot down the street. I just thought that was normal.

When I look back, I grew up in the Wild Wild, West, but I didn’t know it was.” A neighborhood police officer, Curtis Simmons,  became his role model. “There was an organization called the Police Athletic League,” he recalls. “They would pick kids up from the neighborhood and take us to basketball games, and new places. Curtis kept me out of trouble. He spent a lot of time with me, and I said if I ever become a police officer, I want to do for others what he did for me.”

Mayo’s been with the Richmond police department since 2005 but has been a school resource officer for the last 15 years.  “I worked the streets 3 years and then I applied to work with the youth in the schools,’ he recalls. “It’s not a school for bad kids but a school for kids who made bad decisions. They can relate to me because I’ve been where they are. I want to stop that school-to-prison pipeline. I’m here to make things better.” Some of those kids are featured in the new “God Did It ” music video.
