AOH Music Deliver Debut EP ‘RELENTLESS’

AOH Music (vocalist Brianne Nealon, drummer Jimmy Meier, and guitarist/producer Jack Garno) completes it’s debut EP, RELENTLESS, with the release of it’s final track, Always, being released on Friday, October 13th.

When trying to come up with the EP title for this collection of songs, the word Relentless kept coming to mind. “God loves us relentlessly, always. His love is not dependent on the bad things we’ve done or the good things we do for Him, but who we are in Him.

We are made from His perfect love, and we are deserving of it, despite the lies the evil one tries to convince us of”, says the band. They hope this EP brings that to mind for all who listen to it.

The band is out on tour for the fall, playing faith-based concerts and events across the nation. In addition to AOH Music, Nealon, Meier and Garno lead worship nights and perform at faith-based concerts and retreats through the Array of Hope Ministry, where they met four years ago.

Pat Barrett Releases Third Album ‘Shelter’

Renowned worship leader and songwriter Pat Barrett has a brand-new album, Shelter, available now. The 12-track album was a joy to create for this Atlanta-based artist mixing worshipful moments with simple, joyful songs that highlight the power of gratitude and the fleeting nature of time.

With this album, Barrett acknowledges there is hardship in this world, but there is security in knowing who holds it all and who our Shelter is.

“The more life you live, the more hurt that stacks up and the more things don’t go your way. You have to put all of that somewhere, and I want God to be the One I turn to in all of that, that He becomes a shelter,” Pat Barrett shares. “What else could possibly hold the complexity and the intensity and the joy and the suffering? What other place can handle all that?”

The title track is inspired by scripture in 1 Thessalonians 5 and focuses on being children of light as we don’t belong to the darkness. The song was co-written by Barrett and Cody Carnes, and a live performance of the song debuted today on YouTube.

Barrett adds, “I think the ‘belong’ word is a really important thing to remember regardless of what you feel in the moment. And we all experience things in our life that we wish didn’t happen or we wish we hadn’t said or we wish we hadn’t done, and it is always so powerful to go back to where you belong.

This song reminds me of who I belong to and that’s been extremely liberating and beautiful and a freeing experience.”

As a respected songwriter and artist in the broader worship music community, Barrett has penned popular songs such as No. 1 Billboard Christian Airplay and Billboard Christian AC radio and RIAA Gold Certified single, “Build My Life.” He is also nominated as a songwriter for two GMA Dove Awards this year which will be held on October 17th.

He is nominated for the No. 1 song, “Same God,” (Song of the Year) and “This Is Our God” (Worship Recorded Song Of The Year). Barrett has also co-written 23 songs on the current CCLI Top 2000 chart.

FAITHFUL Releases ‘Great Things’ EP

All-female creative community FAITHFUL releases “Great Things.” The new EP is a foretaste of their upcoming album, releasing in early 2024, which brings the Psalms – specifically Psalms of action – to life.

greatthings

As musicians, artists, and authors, FAITHFUL explores the imagery of womanhood throughout these poetic scriptures. Inspired by Fanny Crosby’s wonderful hymn, “To God Be The Glory,” the title of this EP comes from the song’s final line which praises God for all that he has done. In fact, FAITHFUL were so moved by it that they included the hymn in their new project, which is the only non-Psalm song on there. They updated some of the language and added a new chorus, giving modern worshippers a moment of response to such a beautiful and rich old lyric. “To God Be The Glory” is still the most-sung traditional song written by a woman in the Church today, a call that the female collective embraces in their creative pursuit.

With “Great Things,” FAITHFUL reflects on the beauty of God’s kindness and faithfulness in the lives of women throughout generations.

It’s been a busy year for the North Carolina artists.  Since the start of 2023, Murphy has been busy releasing song after song to the public as he leads up to his debut full-length on Paravel / DREAM.  Today, his new song “God Of My Tomorrow” was released to all digital retail and streaming service providers.

This time, Branan teamed up with producer David Spencer.  Spencer has produced a number of Branan’s songs including his recently released “Life Is Hard. God Is Good.” single and his top 10 Billboard Hot AC / CHR single “I Will Wait.”  Murphy and Spencer collaborated with songwriter Molly Reed (Blanca, Danny Gokey) to write “God Of My Tomorrow.”

“One of the things that was so powerful about making this album, Life is Hard. God is Good., is that in the middle of the creative process of putting it together, I was living it in real time. And I tried to do my best to be in the moment and write the songs I was living.

God Of My Tomorrow is one of those songs. I was in the studio, about to start a session to track the song, when I got a phone call from my manager, who would soon after lose his wife to cancer. I was so devastated by the call, that I cried and prayed with my producer, and then we rewrote the verses and changed the vibe of the song based on the phone call I just had. The pre-chorus of the song, “Cause today feels so impossible…” is the line that hits the hardest for me.

I know so many people feel like that right now. But our comfort is knowing that God is with us today, and tomorrow is not just something he knows about. Tomorrow is a place where God already is. We can trust his goodness and mercy are waiting for us there.” – Branan Murphy

Jeff & Sheri Easter Welcome The Holidays With New Christmas Album ‘Christmas Is’

Beloved gospel music duo Jeff & Sheri Easter bring their signature touch to the sounds of the season with Christmas Is, a new holiday album available on Oct. 20 via Gaither Music Group.

Produced by Jeff & Sheri Easter and Greg Cole, the GRAMMY-nominated pair deliver yuletide joy with their renditions of nostalgic holiday classics — including “A Holly Jolly Christmas” with a Western swing and a country harmony-filled “Winter Wonderland”— along with newly-penned songs, celebrating the joys of Christmas.

With “Winter Wonderland” Jeff & Sheri continue their musical families’ legacies (Jeff’s father is one of the Easter Brothers and Sheri’s mother is a member of The Lewis Family), as they are joined by daughter Morgan Easter Smith the Christmas classic.

The family fun continues on “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” as their son and daughter-in-law, Madison and Shannon Easter, join in on the jazzy track. The group shares what Christmas Is to them — family, joy, and faith delivered through the humble birth of a child divine.

“Christmas is many things to many people,” says Sheri. “For some, it’s a big family gathering with gift-swapping and lots of laughter; for others, maybe a quiet evening with a few of the ones you love, being reflective, or maybe even a candlelight service or caroling.

Whatever your idea of Christmas, I hope it starts with a tiny baby in a manger — the tangible love of God sent down to man for the remission of sins in a sinful world — the story of Jesus, Emmanuel, and God with us.

This collection of songs is our gift to you, sharing the beauty of Christmas through what we consider to be the important stuff, the fun stuff, and the stuff that good memories are made of! For our family, this is what Christmas is!”

Richard Lynch Offers Solace on New Single “High Above the Midnight Sky”

Richard Lynch has long been a stalwart in the country music scene, consistently delivering songs that not only entertain but resonate with common sentiments. In his latest single, “High Above the Midnight Sky,” Lynch ventures into the sacred realm of faith, offering listeners a musical solace and a celestial journey of hope and gratitude. So, let’s find out how it fares in our full review.

From the very first notes, the imagery conjured by the song is arresting. With the stars likened to “candle lights,” there’s a palpable serenity that blankets the song. It evokes an image of a quiet night, where one looks up to the vastness of the heavens and feels both humbled and comforted.

It’s a moment of quiet reflection, of awe at the vastness of the universe, and the peace that can be found in recognizing something greater than oneself.

The gentle strumming of the acoustic guitar complements this atmosphere beautifully. It feels intimate, almost as if Lynch is singing to the listener by a campfire, under the very stars he’s singing about. The instrumentation is neither overpowering nor sparse – it’s perfectly balanced to let the song’s message shine.
